Book Rack of Metairie

Tried to go this morning when they opened at 10:30! The time that in their own window it says that they open at... I stuck around until 10:50 just waiting outside because no one was there. What a shameI also called 3 times and didn't even get a voicemail ..

A cute little gem hidden away where Metairie Road meets Severn!We stopped in here recently on a Saturday. They have a great variety of novels packed away in here for such a small place. Give yourself some time to peruse the shelves awhile. I love that there was a sweet store cat there, too!The books are priced about half off of the publisher's price. I will be sure to visit again!

I'm so glad I found Book Rack! I just moved to New Orleans from NYC and have been seriously missing my favorite bookstore, The Strand. I jumped on Yelp and went to a few other stores, but nothing felt even close to what I was looking for. Enter Book Rack! As soon as I entered, Phyllis jumped up to help me and answer all of my questions. I was working on a project of making bookends out of old books, and it was important to me that the books I used for the project not be something I would devalue by taking them out of circulation. She knew exactly what I was looking for and helped me find a bunch of beautiful hardbacks. She gave me a great price and even told me she'd give me a call when she finds more books that will be good for my project! I'll definitely back for more DIY material *and* reading material!

LOVED IT, oh my goodness. I wish i lived closer. Not only do they have a store dog and cat, but the owner also gave me personal recommendations and a box to bring my books home on the plane.

I really like this little place,two floors of used paperbacks and some hardcover books,also.My late husband was into Ian Fleming and had some first editions but wanted to read while at work,I found all the paperbacks I wanted here.Plus,it was fun browsing!

I had high expectations for this place as I find the city has limited options for used book stores. I've tried to go twice during the listed open hours and it wasn't open either time. Will update review if I ever get to go inside.

Went to this bookstore recently and was blown away by the selection!!! So many great books and a good selection of romance books! Also shout out to the bookstore cat who is super cute!

Great place. Knowledgeable, discerning owner. Nice sized collection. Books overflowing into the aisles like a dream. Why people buy new books, I don't know. Also, they recently moved down the street. Go here.

I recently found this store and will be back! The owner helped me track down several books from a list of obscure authors I was looking for and she found them all. The place is simply overflowing with books. She also recommended a book based on the others I was purchasing; and I'm already loving it! I was happy to find a locally owned bookstore and was thrilled to find this cozy gem with such a knowledgeable and friendly owner. The store cat was very nice too.
