It should be called Boo In a Grass Area Next to the Zoo, because there are no animals involved.m, but rather a dozen tents with poor lighting and not a lot for kids to do. Wouldn't recommend.

The main memory I got from this years event was a really long line that took an hour and a half to ride the train which was a quick trip to then experience more lines to play the games (which were nearly all some version of throwing something through a hole) for small rewards. In the past there was a great deal of candy being given out but this year the treats were very hard to get. I think the children still ended up having some fun but there were a lot of grumpy and unhappy behaviors brought on by the long waits. This event definitely seems to have declined from what it was in the past and is now just very crowded.

Overpriced, overcrowded. Previous year it was more enjoyable. Will not be going again with it taking 30 minutes to park and 20 minutes to wait in line to trick-or-treat and a strange assortment of candy like hard peppermints, and some rude people working the event. Do better, Audubon Zoo!

Do not come to this event!!!!! The cost is 18.00 per person. But what they forget to tell you is that when you come. They only get candy to kids 12 and under. I had a bag of chips taking from me after I had open them. And my child also was giving a bag to get some candy and it was taking from her also. Because she was 15yrs oldIn the toddler area. There was face painting but they stop after the 1st hour of opening. You can just come to the zoo in the day time and do the same thing you do at Boo at the Zoo. And the night is not over. Never again!!!!!!

Review for 2019. Past years were fun; but with the impossibly long lines and shamefully shoestring budget, it was frustrating and not worth the admission. The trick-or-treat candy give away was particularly poor with hard candy at best and at worst, flyers with Hard Rock coupons to redeem if one spends $35.00. Really! In a city that is reeling from the Hard Rock collapse? How tasteless! Other coupons were given to the little kids instead of candy. And the Haunted House which used to have a "house"facade was now an oblong tent with middle school volunteers and garbage bag decor. What happened to the elaborate bouncy castles? No live entertainment. WE miss the Pop Princesses! Having an EMS vehicle and firetruck is hardly a substitution. We all know the over-the-top funding of the Audubon Institute, the corporate salaries and the recently renewed millage.

So boo at the zoo, well this was the 30th year for it so I decided to take my girls. They are 11 and 4. For the most part it was ok but really all the animals are put away at this time except for a few. So seeing animals at the zoo didn't really happen. I also saw parents letting their children squeeze into places to get closer to Hector the tiger and this is how animals get in trouble at the zoo. Parents allowing their children to climb up to the top of fences and just sit there. Stuff like that is difficult to see. But that's not a reflection of the event. There were some long lines to wait in. I felt that the candy end of it was very sad. If you're going to this event to get candy don't that part will disappoint you.
