Blue Bayou Bar & Grill

I think this is our 4th time here, I'm not ashamed to say. As always we sat by the window and had a wonderful view of seagulls and the setting sun. Fantastic service by the incomparable Joey from beginning to end. Dinner was fresh crisp wedge salads, filet and ribeye - perfectly cooked, broccolini garlic mash, fresh bread, creole cream cheesecake - just a wonderful symphony of flavors. Can't get enough of this place!

I really like Blue Bayou, but there are a few things that have changed that I'm not a fan of. They use to have the BEST stuffed Flounder, now that's off the menu and there are few fish options. The atmosphere and service were wonderful! My husband ate here with my mom and her friend. We started with grilled oysters, shrimp cocktail and friend crab claws. The crab claws always rock, the oysters were good but I've had better and while the shrimp cocktail was good it was really overpriced for 4 shrimp. My mom got shrimp scampi and my husband and I split a grilled fish and potato dish. The fish was cooked perfectly and was delicious but the potatoes were meh. For dessert we shared bread pudding, chocolate cake, and strawberry cheesecake. The chocolate cake was by far the best. It was rich and warm, just perfection! The cheesecake was creamy and smooth heaven. The bread pudding was lack luster and made me jealous of the other desserts. Rating from an F to A I give it a B-.

We enjoyed the three course dinner with petit filet and wine and dessert. Our server MC advised about cooking and it came out perfectly dark pink. Good job on this! We shared Oysters Rockefeller which included bacon so it was not the traditional recipe. I found bacon overpowered the oyster and spinach and cheese and absinthe taste. We should have tried grilled oysters. Vegetable sides of potatoes and snow peas and asparagus were cooked well and properly seasoned. The dining room is nicely appointed with windows looking over the water. It was very noisy as the dining crowd increased. Lots of hard surfaces. The restaurant was short on staff and our server MC was very busy. We were pleased with her work. We would dine here again when we are in the area

We tried to visit the buffet, but the wait was nearly 2 hours. The blue bayou was by reservations only, but we got lucky and there was seating at the bar. The bartender was busting her booty working nonstop. She was friendly and efficient. There were early dinner specials and a valentines couple special. We ordered off the regular menu. The prime rib was a beautiful, thick cut cooked perfectly. The green beans as a side were typical steamed beans. I got their steak chili, but two small bites were all I could manage. I just didn't like it. The mixed drinks were very nice. The smoke in the casino was thick walking to the restaurant. It was a typical loud, noisy, crowded smoke filled casino.

We stopped by the Sliver Slipper Casino for a few spins. Got hungry and went to Blue Bayou Bar and Grill because the line for the buffet was wrapped around the casino... literally! Waited for an hour to be seated for 2... When you walk in it is dimly lit and FREEZING COLD... The temperature is so uncomfortable that it makes it hard to focus on your dinner selections!!! After three cups of coffee I can now focus on ordering.. Taylor was our server and he was a ANGELIC he gave us the specials of the day and immediately I wanted it just from his description... It was my all time favorite Trout Almondine!!! And we had a rack of lamb with garlic mashed potatoes! Once again blindsided by the fidget temperature I was unable to fully enjoy my experience... However the room is not very large but there is a spectacular view of the Bay... It made me feel like I was on a cruise (An Alaskan Cruise but a cruise). It was more of a pier like setting. The staff was amazingly attentive a great place for dinner and a conversation! Once the food arrive it looked mouthwatering!! Looked so good made me wanna slap my mama( oh but I'm glad I didn't). When they say looks are deceiving the really are because the food was extremely bland and flavorless!! However the presentation was magnificent! The fish was definitely fresh and flakey and the lamb was seared on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside with a very little pink! Perfect! However it lacked the flavor! When I think of a fine fine experience at a Casino I think of Phillip M's at the Silver Star Casino in Philadelphia MS! So we were expecting the same type of experience... Boy oh boy were we in for a surprise... I was very disappointed. If you visit you definitely need an COAT! Expect phenomenal service and nasty food!! The service gets a 5 the food gets a 2! The second visit was much better than the first. The food was better... The serve was better... Joel was an AMAZING server!

The food here is the best! I always ask for my server to be Marsha. She is very attentive and knows a lot about the food and makes great suggestions. There is water view seating in the restaurant. It's located inside the Silver Slipper Casino. Don't let that deter you from going because it is truly a hidden gem.

The menu selection was great and the food was delicious. The best servers. Had a enjoyable dinner with a great view of the bay water

Came for Valentine's Day. Awesome service. Food is amazing. Only issue is limited seating. Be sure to make reservations for your meal.

Excellent food, whether off the Edge menu or full menu. Service from the moment you enter throughout your meal is 2nd to none.
