BLDG5

Came to BLDG5 while I was in town to visit someone. When we arrived the location is under an overpass, so it can be easy to miss. Parking was easy, as there were spots available.When we walked in, I was surprised at how cute it was outside. I guess they say don't judge a book by its cover. We were seated in the window section, which had floor to ceiling windows displaying their cute garden.Our server was super attentive. We both ordered a cocktail and they came out quickly. After looking over the menu, we both opted to get boards. I got a board with steak and their potatoes, it also came with grains, and your choice of sauce for the steak.Everything was nicely prepared and I loved the concept of being able to graze on my own board!

I absolutely love BLDG5! I don't think that is comparable to any other restaurant I've been to. There is truly something for everyone on their menu. The service is always great. All the servers are very knowledgeable about what their menu has to offer. The ambiance is perfect for date night or a girls night out.

We visited the for the first time on a Wednesday night. Map directions brought us to the wrong side of the overpass, but I read other reviews about literally parking under the bridge so we made our way to the other side of the road and located the restaurant. It was very nice outside, so we opted to sit in the courtyard and listen to the live music. The musician was "Caitlyn Renee, Acoustic", and she was fantastic. Just the right vibe for sitting outside under the moon. My one complaint was our server seemed a little reluctant to engage with us. She was polite and answered all our questions, but didn't elaborate or help guide us to things we might enjoy. We settled on the Harvest Board for (1) and Bldg 5 Original sandwich with chicken. When the food came out I was very impressed how attractively it was plated and everything had a very fresh "farm to table" taste. The bread on both our plates was outstanding, the dips were delicious, and who knew roasted carrots could be so delicious! Even though I ordered the Harvest Board for one, I had a lot leftover. We were too full for dessert. I would love to visit again!

We came to bldg5 on a Saturday night and had a great time! It was pretty busy but we were easily able to sit at the bar. The service was quick and the bartenders were very nice. I got the BLDG 5 original chicken sandwich and it was amazing; honestly the best sandwich in Baton Rouge! The house made chips could've used a little extra salt/seasoning. They were fine, but I'd probably swap them out for a salad or something else next time. I also tried the Hawaiian Cali Coast Margarita and loved it. It was a little strong at first, but with an extra splash of pineapple juice it was perfect. Their menu has a ton of things, so I'd love to come back and try something else! Overall this was the perfect dinner for a cozy Saturday night.

There are no pictures - and I'm always taking pics. Why then do I have none? Because I devoured my food . First time here - immediately loved the look and vibe! We sat at the bar and service was excellent - forgot our bartender's name but he was so friendly! We ordered the Cajun pork gravy and the tuna power bowl. Both were delicious!!! For dessert I got the banana brown butter cake and it was a big portion which I was glad because I took some home. It was sooo good! The atmosphere was hopping and the drinks looked sooo pretty! I just grabbed a beer but next time I will definitely try a cocktail. Can't wait to come back! Sorry for no pics!

Always a great stop for lunch! They make sure quality is delivered even with to-go orders!

This place is so different and I love it. A board of food you can easily split with others. The steak and sauce were excellent. A lot going on in the place as they are selling merchandise too. We sat in this large room for a birthday dinner which was cool and I believe free to rent out. Service was good considering it was a large group.

BLDG5 is located in a tropical concrete jungle tucked away in a tiny and unassuming corner of downtown Baton Rouge. Although the portion sizes leave much to be desired, the menu pairings show off the kitchen's ability to balance both subtle and bold flavors. We especially enjoyed the peri peri sauce and balela salad that accompanies the nicoise or protein platters. The sauce in particular had a nice heat and acidity to it that really paired well with the steak and the salmon. The food was a bit on the pricier side but everything was fresh and made to order. 7/10 They don't have a signature dish but they know how to cook food really well--tender meats, fresh and flavorful veggies, solid dips and sauces that don't leave you feeling sluggish after eating. I would recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean cuisine or fusion food.Great and friendly service as well, one of the waitresses was on her lunch break but she still managed to flag down one of the waitresses so we could get our picture taken!

This was my first time visiting this spot but it won't be my last. This spot is small but cozy. It has a rustic garden feel, if that makes sense. We sat in the courtyard outside and it was bursting with greenery and string lights..it was a vibe:-). The staff was super friendly and more than willing to answer any questions about the menu. The food was excellent. I had the "build your own" plate subbing veggies for the protein with a side and dipping sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection. I really liked this spot. I'll definitely be visiting again.

This is one of the best gems in Baton Rouge. The food is great, the drinks are unreal and the atmosphere is so cool. Great place for happy hour, first date or girls night
