Black Kettle Cajun Meats & Market

On our way to the Tabasco Factory from Oak Alley Plantation, I was looking up foot spots. This caught my eye because of how amazing the meat looked. We got there around 12:30p. Because we were tourists and it looked like everyone else was locals, they had to do some explaining. They were super nice though!We wanted the pork cracklins, but they were all sold out. They had chicken cracklins. They sell them by dollar amount and said usually each person gets $5 worth. We decided to get $5 to share since we were going somewhere else for a sit-down lunch. They were so good! I see why it's so easy to get $5 by yourself. It was crunchy and hot. Hard to come by something like this. I know because we were chasing it the rest of the trip! We also got the boudin sausage. I think it's a regional cuisine. It's like rice and meat rolled into a sausage. I could omit it in the future. It wasn't my favorite. There is no place to eat there, so we ate on the hood of my car. It looked like everyone else just took it home to eat.

Excellent Boudin and Cracklings. Great, friendly people. Awesome boudin balls and egg rolls. The Cajun dip is the best you'll find. Might be a little pricey but worth the $$$$!!!! Bring some crackling to your Cardiologist and make them smile. Enjoy.

One word - Delicious! Stop to get cracklin and boudin while passing through the area. Heard good things about them and so glad even with it pouring rain to stop and check them out. The cracklin were beyond good and the boudin was flavorful. This is a great place to spot when passing through the area coming from New Orleans.

I've done most of the boudin trail from Shreveport to Lafayette Louisiana and this place need to be added stops . Picked up boudin and a few cracklings but unlike everywhere else that makes this place shine is their sauce. A cup of sweet flavorful dressing dipped into their sausage and cracklings elevated for a new experience. Boudin wasn't full of rice , very meaty seasoned and spicy . The combination of heat and sweet, salt was perfect. Outstanding small place for tourists to find.

Great people making great food! The boudin eggrolls and the jambalaya eggrolls are AMAZING! The cracklins are great as well! Don't forget the Kettle Sauce! YUM!

If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here. We got two egg rolls (with kettle sauce) and two boudin balls. Both were great, but the egg rolls were amazing!! Half the order was missing before I could get a picture!

Saw it while driving to Nola said I'd stop when going back home. It was so good I didn't make it out the parking lot has to go back in to buy more! Boudin is really seasoned but it's so good! I live next to the boudin capital and it this place was closer they would be in the top. The jambalaya egg roll with the sauce, damn! Cracklin are great too. Will definitely stop every time I pass. Really nice people too. They will definitely be expanding.

This place is great. Got one of most everything. Tasted the kettle sauce and ending up buying a jar. The food is amazing and so are the people. Sorry no pics , we ate it all.

Great food, the trick is catching these guys open. They've got some convenient hours, convenient for them so I'd call before I drive out to no man's land for nothing and then having to settle for a bag of chips elsewhere.

Their boudin balls are HUGE! The pepperjack boudin is so good and the location couldn't be more perfect for stopping to and from Houston for work. This is a must stop for true boudin lovers
