Big Chill Sno Balls & Ice Cream

My daughters and I decided to try Big Chill after seeing them on the Jefferson Parish Best In Sno Contest list. I tried the Mangonada drink and my girls got milkshakes, Chocolate and Unicorn (you can get any snoball flavor as a milkshake). We also ordered nachos. Overall we weren't impressed much, the milkshakes were decent (vanilla soft serve with flavor added) but the nachos and Mangonada drink were underwhelming. The nacho cheese was very skimpy, barely filled the cup halfway. The prices were reasonable, but they only took one order at a time, which makes it feel like a long wait for folks in line but the customer service was good. I do like that they have a bench for sitting and a small area for parking.It was a little tricky to find, you have to turn onto York st.

I guess it's just my luck that the entire bottom half of a snoball turns into a solid block of ice. When you attempt to break it in half, syrup spills around it and all over my shirt. I get to find out how easy that red comes out of a new shirt. Maybe next time I can get some ice cubes with syrup- at this point I don't see much difference. Will have to return on a day that is not as hot.I am sure that has got to be it, as I've never seen ice clump up like this

Here I am reviewing yet another snowball stand, our wonderful Community Leader Morgan told me that I am a snowball aficionado, and she is correct. Here's my take on this stand:This stand was better than my previous two stops. There was no shortage of juice on my snowball. I didn't find any white ice spots so obviously they know here how to put the right amount of juice in the snowball.The ice consistency was a bit different than other stands. It was more like a chopped consistency as opposed to a shaved consistency. I think I like shaved better.My wife had a chocolate malt which she said was fine. Nothing special, just your typical tasty malt.I love the fact that you can pay with card. It's well worth the extra 50 cents to have the ability to use your card. I understand the cost of merchant processing fees, so I have no problem with the small fee.They have a long list of sugar free flavors so that's good for those who prefer that.I would certainly come back to this stand again. It's out of the way from my usual daily travels but if I'm in the area and want a snowball, I'd stop here.

Absolutely the best snowball place around! The flavors are better than any other place and the ice is soft. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should!

Love this place! Best nectar cream & doberge. They also take a credit card . Never disappointed when I come here

The sugarfree bubblegum snowball (0 weight watchers points) is wonderful. I usually do not like sugarfree versions, however I cannot tell any difference in their's versus the regular syrup. Yummy and guilt free!

Finely chopped ice, much more than snowballs but try the fresh fruit flavors they make from real fruit.

If I didn't have to put a star I wouldn't. This is the worst snowball stand in the New Orleans area!! They have messed up my orders multiple times. I order chocolate they give me vanilla!! When I went to tell the girl she gave me the wrong snowball she gave me a horrible attitude. I ordered a doberge snowball the other day and it tasted like strawberry! My husband now thinks doberge cake taste like strawberries. I suggest nobody goes to this snowball stand.

I normally go to RoBears in Harahan sense I live across the street, it made since just to go there but was with my friend one day and she said that I had to try The Big Chill Snowballs. So we drove out there and I got my usual which is chocolate with condensed milk and let me tell you if you like condensed milk on your snowball then this is the place to go! They give you so much that they have to put it in a bigger cup! This snowball was way better then what I usually get at other places! The ice was so soft, their chocolate flavor is way better then other places!

This place is OPEN ! Don't know why it says closed .It is in their 30th year!! Love all their snowballs !! Extreme real fruit are out of this world
