There are closer yarn shops to where I live, but no shop owner has made me feel more at home than Ms. Bette. Armed with years of knitting knowledge, Bette will help you find the perfect yarn and supplies for all your projects. Don't let the small amount of yarn on display fool you. She has a small showroom for her yarn, so she displays one skein of each color of the yarn she has in stock, and then will go pull more for you when you've decided how much you need. She also has needles, hooks, notions, and books for sale. If you are visiting yarn stores in the New Orleans area, don't miss this one!

Helpful, organized, friendly - this is a neighborhood store that serves the entire south and more. If she doesn't have the yarn you need, Bette will get it or show you an even better one. There is a knitting group that meets there Wednesdays too. The shop also carries needles, pattern books, and everything else a knitter or crocheter needs. This is the best place in New Orleans for sure!

If you are into needlecrafts, and especially knitting, this is the place to get your supplies. Tucked in the Bywater neighborhood, you will find specialty yarns, gorgeous needles and everything that will spur you to finish that project that you've been working on. Worth the trip out. Call ahead, as her hours are a bit sporadic.

I was so sad that this place has not been open the past 4 days we have been staying in NOLA. I crochet and thought it was kismet when our air bnb was literally across the street!! But sadly it has not been open and no sign on the door so I'm not sure if this awesome little store is still open.

We recently stayed a block away from this fun little neighborhood yarn shop on a quick trip to New Orleans. Although I came out with some great new DPNs and lovely yarn (on clearance!), the real draw is Bette, who has spent her entire - and interesting - life in the Marigny. Go for yarn, stay for her stories!

All of the other reviews about this "emporium" are quite good as it should be. Everyone is welcome, prices are fair and almost any notion you can think of is readily available. Bette's is always cheerful and enjoys solving difficult problems. And, in the rare case that she doesn't know something she will call upon one of her "experts" to help solve the problem. I always shop there first as I don't like buying on line because I can't feel it. Our Wednesday circle is a hotbed of clicking with very little gossip, just chat.Anthony ENew Orleans

I have always been extremely pleased with the services and the products of this business. Betty is one of the nicest ladies you will ever want to meet. She has that true southern hospitality. She is a wealth of information. She carries a large stock of wonderful yarns. This business is one of the best kept secrets in New Orleans. Great prices.

Ms. Bette is the bomb, and her needles and notions are very reasonably priced. I only wish her sales weren't so complicated and that her shop was a liiiittle bigger to show more of the great yarn she has.

A wide range of yarns, patterns, and books, goes with out saying, but most of all it's the customer service that is out of this world. Most of the women I've met in her shop like to knit ALLOT! Bettye offers good quality yarn at affordable prices so you can afford to feed your addiction. Bette is a skilled knitter that can read a pattern and help you sort out a badly written one. I consider Bette a saint because she has raised some of my knitting projects from the dead. Nothing worse than going into a shop and feeling like an outsider, or snobby attendant, none of that here. There is nothing unnecessary, for Bette is a no nonsense type of girl . Come there is a chair awaiting you
