I called very last minute I was desperate to not do my own hair and I just needed a blow out ! It was my Last night in New Orleans so I wanted my hair done ! I'm so lucky Dustin was available to take me last minute ! Great experience super chill salon ( and very cool inside ) . I highly recommend this spot ! Thanks @dustin_burks Frankie

Great vibe, great people, great prices, and most importantly, a great haircut!! Every mans worst fear is having his hair groomed by someone who does NOT know what they're doing. This would be the least of your concerns at this lounge. Water or wine was offered during my whole visit. My hats off to you David Connor! You see what I did there?

Had a Groupon so I checked this place out because I am looking for a new stylist. While my cut and color was great the service less than desired. After putting color on my stylist did not check on me once for over half an hour. I finally went to him and asked him to check the processing. He was very dismissive and didn't even check it. every time I've had color the stylist comes and checks it during the process but this stylist just was on his phone the entire timeThen when washing my hair he used scalding hot water- so hot that I jumped out of my seat and was promptly chastised for that (hey sorry but my head was burning ) .Finally he ran over my foot with the chair. I felt very unwelcome and won't be back,.

On various drunken nights at Red Eye and/or Republic, I had stumbled by Beauty Lounge's red sign and never given it a second thought, until various Asian American New Orleans friends recommended it to me. Like, literally; I put out a query mentioning that I needed my super thick, straight, limp, uncut-for-a-year hair to be styled and layered and three people gave me the same recommendation: Phuong at Beauty Lounge. So I made an appointment and I'm now a loyalist.The first time I came here, I parked and paid on the street, without knowing that there is complimentary valet. Only that one time, though! The salon is upstairs, you walk through the door, up leopard-print carpet, and into a clean, bright, interior space. Rustic beams and a gold and turquoise wallpaper accent the space. I can say with honesty that I have never been as satisfied with my haircuts as I have been with Pee's. The first time I came, he spent time asking me about my hair, how much length I wanted to keep, and was very understanding about the way I needed my hair layered and lightened due to its thickness, unlike many experiences I've had with people who do not understand the volume of my particular Asian hair. Phuong is quick, professional, and a good conversationalist. Since then, I have come every few months and have have been extremely happy with the outcome every time. Last time, I was complaining that my hair was boring but I didn't want to damage it with coloring, so Pee suggested a feather extension. I was hesitant because, to be honest, there are 3rd grade students at my work with cheesy neon yellow feathers and I felt silly. The feathers he had, however, were some of the coolest yet subtle looking I've ever seen, and not only that, they were only $30 each. There are places on Metairie Road and Magazine Street that charge up to $75! The pricing is excellent, the service and product wonderful. Even when I visited California, I waited to come back to New Orleans to get my hair did. And if that's not a great rec, I don't know what is.

I was in town for my son's graduation from Tulane University and commissioning in the military and wanted to have someone do my hair for the events. I just happened upon the Beauty Lounge on the way back to our hotel from dinner. Shawn, the owner was still there at 9:30 at night cleaning the place (probably stayed late for a client) and the door was unlocked. I walked in and asked if my mom and I could have our hair done the next day. He worked us in with Cory.I must say. These guys are busy but make each and every client feel like they are very special. Every single person having their hair down looked fabulous when they were finished and one of Shawn's clients coming in to have her hair done - had amazing hair - which is a testimony to him b/c it shows that she has an amazing hair cut!!!If I live in NOLA, this would be my first choice of salon! It is a gem and the employees are true artists. If you haven't tried the beauty salon, you are truly missing out!!!Thank you for taking care of my mom and my hair. We looked awesome for my son's big day!!!

I'm pickiest most about my hair. I was expecting to be here in Louisiana for only six months so I didn't bother to look for anyone to go to. I was just going to wait until I got back to CA. So plans changed and my stay ended up having to be a year here in LA. My hair desperately needed something done to it. I asked around for recommendations and was given Phoung. I looked through these reviews and was able to see some of his work. I finally get my husband to agree to drive me from Baton Rouge to Nola "just" for a haircut so I scheduled an appt. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking and the salon was very cute. I regret not taking any pics of the place to share on IG ;) When I sat, we talked about my hair. Normally I would have a lot of instructions and preferences, I'm sure I've been impractical with past stylists but this time I showed a few pictures of the style and just trusted him to help me achieve it. ...which he did. I'm so happy with this haircut!! He was meticulous and confident in his technique. He's a great stylist. It's just a shame I waited almost 9 months to look for a stylist.

Very beautiful salon! I just did not have the best experience here. I booked an appointment with Jonné for a color & style. I arrived 30 mins before my appointment time and had to wait an additional 30 mins after my appointment time before I was seated in the chair due to her still finishing up on another client. Although the color she produced was nice, it was not like the picture I sent her. I was also told after my hair was colored that she did not have time to finger coil my hair due to her next appointment, and receiving a style that would hold me was one of the main reasons I decided to get my hair done by her.. being that I was preparing for an out of town trip. Talented young lady, but she should truly work on professionalism!

Had my appointment with Shawn today ! Just moved to the area , and I have to say , I have had my same hairdresser for over 20 years , back home ... so a bit scared to try someone new ... but I was amazed at his talents ! I highly recommend Shawn , and I will be going back to him as long as I am in Nola !!! He is a master of his craft !
