My favorite bead store. We always buy from here and even order online for parties back home.One of our purchases is always holiday beads. St. Patrick's day, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc... It is fun to celebrate back home. On Halloween I even give out specialty Halloween beads to kids with a great costume. Kind of tricky in MN as they are mostly covered up with coats since our Halloweens often have snow.They have great apparel here too. I purchased my Mardi Gras tennis shoes here too. Lots of decor and nice ceramics for entertaining. Mardi Gras wreaths and Christmas trees too.Thank you for the Krewe discount too!

Mardi Gras spot that is great for themed beads. If you can think of it, there is a bead for it. They even have blanks that allow you to create your own. You'll also find lots of items for various other holidays where parading is involved. Lots of holiday jewelry, clothes, decorations, and crafting supplies too!

This is a popular spot for parade throws. The New Orleans area has a LOT of parades and other events where beads are required such as Carnival season, St. Patrick's, St. Joseph's, Halloween, Saints Games, SEC Games and just about any and all other excuses to pass a good time. They have way more than just beads here as they also offer stuffed animals, flowers, cups, headwear, costumes and all manner of New Orleans and Louisiana themed items. I'm surprised more tourists don't just stop in here to shop for souvenirs as they have a huge assortment of so many items at great prices. Overall this place is worth a stop just to check it out and if you need throws this is one of the best places to get them.

This is a very busy store come mardis gras, understandably. But the staff are very nice and accommodating. I ordered my boxes of beads online and thought I had a large order. Upon arrival, I said I'm here to pick up my large order. The gentlemen smiled and pointed to the 1200-box order they were currently filling. I was in and out in minutes. The employees help me load the truck up. Be aware online orders are picked up at the warehouse to the right. While I was there I popped into the store and found a lot of great goodies. Highly recommend this company.

They basically have every type and theme of bead and throw you can possibly imagine here. I came looking for a coffee and beignet bead, which I found, and also found some bachelorette themed beads that I got for an upcoming party. The variety of selections is insane. Every color. Every holiday. Every sports team. The staff is very nice and they are taking all the proper Covid precautions. The only possible thing people could not like is the prices, but if you're from around here you know that novelty beads and throws are always expensive. But it's worth it if you find what you're looking for! I would like to add that they were also out of Alabama beads because we're so popular. ROLL TIDE! (But there were plenty of LSU and Auburn left lol)

I have ordered online from Beads By the Dozen a couple of times, but when I was in town to celebrate the end of the carnival season, I decided to check it out for myself.Row after row after row of every kind of bead you may be dreaming of. Not to mention throws, plates, decorations, some costume pieces, you name it. If it has ever occurred on a carnival float, or in any parade at any time of year, you can probably find it here at this store.Some of the items are unique, much more of them are the same as you can find in any of the other supply houses. It is interesting to wander and roam around this store and just rack up hundreds to thousands of dollars in a cart without even realizing it. It is quite easy to be carried away here.My biggest complaint about this store is the prices. If you're just looking for cheap and easy beads by the dozen, you'll be fine. But once you start looking at the beads and items you'd actually want to take home or throw? They're higher priced than the competition, and often for the same exact products. If you're a savvy shopper, you'll know why you'd come here as opposed to anywhere else, but just be careful of where you devote your big dollars.

Not real sure how you can give a 5 star review to a store that sells junk and more junk. The place is clean and the staff is willing to help out. We always go back.

Beads by the Dozen is not just Mardi Gras stuff. While it is true that they have a massive selection of beads, they also have hats, masks, costumes, tiaras, flowers, trinkets, and some very nice New Orleans themed gifts. If you are traveling in this area and want to grab some unique items that you cannot find at the airport gift shop, take a look here. The store is super clean, even during the busiest part of the year. You rarely have to ask for help as everything is always in its place. If you do need help, the staff is generally professional and helpful. A few scenes of television shows set in New Orleans have been filmed in there. I find that they can be a bit pricey on some items while being very reasonable on others. I would rather pay a little more sometimes to do my part to keep this place open. I have placed several layaways with them and I have never had any issues with anything being lost or damaged. I shop here several times a year I find myself inventing reasons to go to here. There is nothing like breaking up the monotony of a hot boring summer like walking in here, soaking up the AC and planning for Mardi Gras! The hours vary depending on the time of year you go, so a phone call is probably a good idea.

Beads-wise, this place is a mecca, 5 stars on the variety of beads. It's cray. I also love the bead tie, bead headdress, bead bag, bead coozie, and other creative uses of beads to make useful items. While this place is in the friggin' boonies, I've found some great items for Marketing Sponsorships including a dozen giant flowers, great props including boas, funny hats, and other quirky weird items for our Yelp photobooth stock, AND some great "award pieces", one of which I ended up using for our Arnaud's event. If someone in the fam likes fleur-de-lis paraphernalia, this place has a serious stash. I don't necessarily know what I'm going to find out there, but if I have the time it's great to go through the aisles.

THE BEST for unique and specialty beads in town. GREAT for home decor and NoLa Christmas ornaments. I've been a customer for years, and even when not living in town will use them to ship me what I need. Always have what you are looking for!
