I have been here so many times and I consider it to be the best bar in New Orleans. I love my rum and this tiki bar has plenty of it. Super strong drinks at somewhat high prices but totes worth it. The titi theme is so great. The decor and the laminated tables with bamboo draped throughout is fun. Not to mention the drinkware! I love dinning out of fun themed glassware! Let's not forget about the food. You order the fries and it is a plethora - no small amount there. Yall, get the pork belly lo mein, omg! Those noodles! Don't forget about the newish happy hour M-F 3 to 6pm. And the Christmas cocktails complete with Christmas glassware are in season for another couple of weeks! With the exception of one time, I have always had fantastic service. We usually sit at the bar and chat with the bartender watching the artistry happen, but we came here the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when the transition to Christmas cocktails was happening and I think there was a switch to no more Happy Hour until after the holidays started the next day - or at least that is what we were told. We made the reservation a week or so in advance. It was the 4 of us. And we were in Christmas gear even though Thanksgiving was the next day. Our waiter was supposedly new as he mentioned that a couple of times. He was just very s-l-o-w with everything and not knowing the answers to any of the drink or food questions. He didn't even tell us until I asked if there as a Christmas cocktail menu, since I saw it on social media - which was a little cheaper ironically. It probably took about 45 minutes for us to get all our alcohol and non-alcohol dinks and order food. Now that is all fine, I mean, he said he was new. What really rubbed all of us the wrong way, was when some blond female - not sure if she was a waitress or manager or just the watcher as she was just standing in dining room watching everyone - she came up to us to inform us that another party reserved our particular table at 7:30pm. We were all like what?! what time is it?! It's 5:45pm why are we being emotionally 'kicked out' when we have a slow as molasses new waiter and we aren't even close to the next reservation time. This happened at another restaurant in Lafayette - we were there for maybe 30 minutes before the hostess scampered over to our table to make us feel very unwelcome by informing us we had to get out by a certain time. Like is this the new trend in restaurants now? Even if you plan to rack up a $300 or $400 bill, you will be strong armed into leaving? I get that this establishment is on the smaller side but we are paying a pretty penny to enjoy our night. Anyway, that was just one time in the several times we have been customers here so I won't let the ignorant decisions of some blond girl ruin my experience. I plan to be back and fill up on all the rum again. It's 5 stars. Oh, and my favorite Christmas drink was a snowball chance and my favorite overall drink is the deep six. Get it!!
