Pretty decent cabin for a quick fishing getaway. Can't beat the location, you're able to fish right from the front porch off the dock with very quick boat access to the marshes and fishing spots along the gulf.

This is a really nice place to stay. There are 4 cabins that have all the basics you need for a good fishing vacation! We stayed here in April which is not a peak season so we were the only visitors here. The owner (Clay) lives very close to the cabins and is available by phone anytime you need him. He is really friendly, a wealth of information about the area and provides charter fishing trips. The fishing in the area is great! We almost limited out on speckled trout before 9:00 am on our first morning out! You can buy live shrimp and also marine fuel right there at the lodge. Take all the food, ice and other supplies you need because the closest place to restock is about 25-30 minutes away. The only issue I had was that I am a little OCD about a clean room and it really needs a good dusting all the way up the vaulted ceilings. Besides that it was great. The boat ramp is a little tricky because it's short but we managed to get our bay boat in and out with no problems. During the week we left it docked at the cabin and only trailered it when we left. There are plenty of supplies to rinse your boat off as well as nice cleaning stations to clean your catches each day. We take ziplock bags, filet the fish out and freeze them as we go. We took home an RTIC 45 full of fish fillets and only fished 3 days! We will be back!

35-40 mins from New Orleans and a beautiful hidden fishing village in the middle of marsh. Great fishing for kayakers and fishing boats. I've caught trout, redfish, crabs and flounder here. Very clean area and the owner is a hard working down to earth guy! Cabins are beautiful and he even sells live shrimp. Def will be back in October to catch some big reds and healthy trout!

We enjoyed our extended weekend trip here. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Very peaceful. Loved the swings outside the cabin. We brought our boat and docked it outside the cabin, the boat launch was very close which made it convenient. Clay gave us some great fishing spots to try out since we weren't familiar with the area. Make sure to stop at a grocery store ahead of time and bring anything you may need for a few days so that you don't have to leave. It's a bit of a trek down a gravel road to the nearest store. Once you are at the cabins you won't want to leave! There is a two burner cook top, a few pans for you to use, a toaster, a microwave, and a coffee pot. Also a grill outside. We spent one day fishing in Venice which was about an hour drive from BLC. Not bad at all.We would love to go back to Bayou Log Cabins soon!

Do not hesitate, plan your get away at these cabins. My husband and I had a great time. The cabins are comfortable and quaint. We brought a crock pot and used it a lot. Clay is the best. He makes everything very easy and will give you every detail you need for a great fishing trip. He went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We don't own a boat or fishing gear but wanted to fish and it's all for rent on site. Clay was available, friendly and kind, but wasn't hanging around too much. We can't wait to come back!

This is what I wrote to the owners...Just called to rent a cabin for the coming weekend. Owner and I were having a conversation about the rental and the fishing. Also asked about renting a small boat. He got triggered because I asked about the sized of the cabin. Tried to explain I had 5 people coming. He HUNG UP on me. DO NOT STAY HERE. Uncalled for. NO RESPONSE...If I could give 0. I would. Uncalled for.

We had a great time. The fishing from right outside the cabin was AWESOME!!! The line was hit before I could take a seat. My husband loved it and I had so much fun! The cabin was comfortable, it included the basic necessities, however make sure to bring extras if you plan to stay longer than one night. I had to make a not so quick run to Walmart. Clay was such a wonderful host, he made us feel quite welcomed. We are planning to take the grandsons for a visit real soon. I think everyone should give this place a try at least once. I think I'm hooked.

There are NO signs Telling you where to go for check in when you arrive. NO signs telling you to stay off the grass with your boat and trailer. No signs showing where to park your boat and trailer. I was shocked to hear that Clay sell's shrimp for 35 cents each. (seriously) Clay does tell you in advance that the rooms are not going to be clean because of him but what he fails to tell you is they are bacteria ridden, dirty, filthy and you will get ill. Clay needs to either stock the cabin kitchen and bathroom with new products between each visitor or take everything out of it because of the filth, germs and bacteria. All dishes are filthy. He needs to throw out all items that were left from the last renters. (hand soap, bath soap etc.....) The cabin's are so dusty that you can see the dust on each and every log all the way up to the ceiling. Hopefully you don't have allergies. The windows are filthy, window sills are dusty and covered with trash particles. The living room shelf has dirt, dust and mouse droppings sitting on it. I was so disgusted and pissed, it was very hard to stay the entire 3 day's. Clay tells you there are no refunds except in the case of a hurricane. That is the reason for this review. So you don't get stuck like we did. The neighbors next to cabin A are total ass holes. We asked the guy if he had charcoal lighter we could borrow to get our charcoal started because we forgot ours. He looked at us and said, "It's called Camping". What and idiot! Mind you we had 8 children with us that was very hungry. It all worked out in the end with out anyone's help. The mosquitoes, horse flies and other insects are almost unbearable. If you decide to go here after reading my review, make sure you bring everything to kill the insects with. They stay on each side of the door entrance to the cabins and go inside every time you open your door. Bring OFF to wear on your skin all day long. We got so sick from the bacteria and filth in the cabins, we did have to go to the doctor when we got back home.
