Baja Nola MexiCajun

Service was terrible but I'd attribute to young, inexperienced, and untrained. The young lady was pleasantly nice but we essentially had to tell her how to do her job without actually telling her. Things like, telling her we needed napkins and that we needed to get the airport, hoping that would expedite the process. There was another waitress who spent all of her time servicing one table with people who she clearly had a relationship with. It was concerning to see people walk in the door and they revived no assurance or guidance while this young go lady was playing with her family/friends.The food took a while to come out and 25 minutes is entirely too long for soup. The bathroom had a hole cut out in the countertop to drop trash into the wastebasket, but since there was no wastebasket it went straight on the floor. We ordered 3 specialty tacos and 6 street tacos. The specialty tacos had one flavor........SALT! I may try it again since everyone is entitled to a bad day but I was not pleased with my first experience at all.

The hours on Yelp may not match the hours on the door. We enjoy dining here. The highlights are the cheeses (on everything), birria, Dulce de leche, fried mahi mahi with creamy chipotle and Taco Tuesday.My daughter loves the little dance floor, music, and lights. With the music played may or may not be appropriate for young ears. A few songs had adult language and I'm not sure if it was related to the 8 o'clock hour.I was here a couple of months ago and business has gotten busier since I last visited. Even with increased staffing, service was a bit slow because there were a lot of people being served at the time.

I'm basing my review solely on food and service. Walking into this place was a little off putting. The parking lot is tiny, the joint is not a vibe, the patrons made us feel out of place by looks alone and the music was too loud. Definitely not a choice for ambiance or decor but damn that food was amazing! Everything tasted homemade. The kids loved their food too. My oldest ordered the ramen, that could have used a little more flavor but it was still good. The tacos, knocked out of the park! We went on a Tuesday and ordered the 3 seafood tacos for $12. We also hit up happy hour so got 2 for one drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. If you're not a sit downer, they looked as if there was a drive thru but I didn't investigate that hard.

They can serve you the best of both worlds! I wasn't able to try everything on their menu, but I do intend to go back to try other varieties of items on the menu! Don't be fooled by the exterior this place is new in town and it was awesome!Very authentic, flavorful, and we got some house made margs made by the owner himself. We were staying close by so we could fly out early the next morning and stumbled in and I am glad we did! If you are going with a group get a few diff things and share.

Good food and the service was great!!Would definitely recommend this to everyone! Worth a try

The first time I tried to go here.I was turned around stating that the cook wasn't there?And they weren't taking any customers. The second time I went, I sat at the bar with a friend.We ordered tacos and oysters.Oh my god, the oysters were so delicious, also the drinks were very good. The bartender was very nice and very , very pretty. They offer hookah & played hip hop music as well.

Arrived on a Sunday around 2:30 pm to have a late lunch. Took a few minutes to get seated after the confusion was settled by the staff. We were seated at an extremely hard, dirty, black picnic style table in the middle of the restaurant where it appears a dj booth would be. We waited 15 minutes for the server to arrive. She didn't know much about the menu and stated she was new, not her fault , she was very sweet, however management needs to spend more time training their employees. After we ordered some cocktails it took another 15 to 20 minutes to get them. Meanwhile the 2 women behind the bar were chatting it up. The drinks were strong. When it came time to order we ordered we ordered the chargrilled oysters as our appetizer. We also ordered a shrimp plate for my 10 year old at the same time we put in the order for the oysters.. The oysters were not good at all. We tried all flavors, none of them were good. We actually enjoyed the bread more than the oysters. After a while we then put in our main dish order and at that time we reminded the waitress about the shrimp plate, she said they are making it. Mind you there were only 5 other tables occupied, with 3 waitresses.When our food arrived after it was cold. When mentioning this to the waitress, she said she would have them remake our food. I also mentioned we didn't get the shrimp plate and that I cannot eat my food until my son's food arrived. When the main dishes came back out, we still never got the shrimp, at this point I am kinda disappointed and asked for the check and only agreed to pay for our drinks, and the oysters We were seated for 2 hours for nothing. I believe the owner needs to educate himself on how a business should be ran. Maybe hire some experienced professionals who've been in the industry a while, spend more time training the employees on the menu & hire a kitchen manager. I will give this place one more try in hopes I have a better experience. But in my opinion, I think this place would do better as a bar/club than a restaurant. I wanted to support this local business

The only bad thing I can say is that my Top Shelf margarita was way sweeter than I expected and not enough tequila in my opinion. That's the end of the bad. Now THE GOOD. EVERYTHING else was fantastic. There is parking in the front and back of the restaurant. The restaurant is a decent size. You can definitely go with a group of friends. The wait staff was superb! They were extremely patient, quick to get back and check on the table, and extremely accommodating. Our waitress made multiple great suggestions since it was our first time. The FOOD was on point!!!! The oxtails Birria tacos, the seafood Boat, and the plantain Beignets were magnificent!!! We tried grilled alligator for the first time and it was so damn good! I will be back. I was told that we must try the churro dessert next time.

The customer service was excellent. Went on a Saturday evening. Wasn't busy. My husband got birria tacos and my daughter got steak quesadilla and I got street tacos. I might just b used to more authentic Mexican tacos and this seemed to be altered to satiate American palate. The protein on my tacos was not seasoned well or remarkable. I think the price is expensive for the value. They seem to have a gorgeous menu of cocktails we didn't try any. I think it's a spot to get a cute drink and share something with friends. I wouldn't go back as a family.
