If you're looking for a fun, outside of the box experience in NOLA, I highly recommend getting yourself over to Bacchanal Wine. It was recommended to me by a former resident and I almost brushed it off because it wasn't near any of the other things I planned to see and do. Don't let that discourage you! Get in a vehicle and go!The concept at Bacchanal is great. You have many options Grab a bottle of wine in the shop or get individual drinks outside. Select any variety of cheeses and/or cured meats from their fridge and they will plate them with all the fixings needed for a great charcuterie board (bread, pickles, olives, spreads, etc). Or you can order various other items (including hot items) outside in the wine garden. It's covered so even if it rained you'd be... covered. Keep an eye out on the music schedule because there will be gaps and the performances aren't nonstop throughout the day.The whole scene is very laid back and cool. Even on the chilly day we were here, the outdoor heaters provided the perfect amount of comfort for a leisurely visit. All in all, if you love wine, charcuterie, and jazz, it's not to be missed.

We have only been on warm sunny days and sat outside quaffing wine and listening to music and enjoying conversation. Pick out your food and wine and sit back. Like being in your backyard but without the hard work of entertaining. the only place we have ever been that servers Sardines on Toast, one of Pablo's favorites.Of the beaten track. Take an Uber or enjoy a long stroll.

My heart is with this beautiful city of New Orleans, and all the lives lost and injured. Despite me still being here, it is difficult for me to write some of these reviews, considering they were places I visited prior to the incident of January 1st, 2025. Always keep your safety a priority. My two friends and I went to Bacchanal, from the outside it looks to be a dive bar. But wait till you step inside, it's a whole other world. You'll immediately find a whole assortment of wine, that you can purchase to have while enjoying live music. You can sit upstairs at the bar, or outside, where the live music is. We did both. This place has a very cool, wired feel as you're navigating your way around. At the bar, there was a very personable bartender, who made us very tasty cocktails. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what they were called or what the base was. After the drinks we went downstairs to where the live musicians were playing their local jazz music. We wanted to get some appetizers, but everything we wanted was sold out. We decided to go for the bread and butter, and the bacon wrapped dates. This butter was black, and seemed very heavy on olive oil, it was served with sourdough bread. Not a crowd favorite, but interesting nonetheless. The dates were very good, a bit sweet, a very surprisingly pleasant app.We had such a fun time at Bacchanal, from the vibe, to the drinks, and the music. I would for sure return here again.

Every Wednesday, I've been diving into the free wine tastings--and each experience is more electrifying than the last. This week, we sampled three distinct wines, each boasting its own unique flair, and paired them with irresistible small bites. The Bacon Wrapped Dates and crispy Papas Fritas were absolute showstoppers, delivering bursts of flavor in every bite. The day began under a radiant sky, inviting us to savor the charming courtyard's outdoor ambiance. As a playful breeze picked up, we seamlessly shifted our revelry indoors to a spacious, vibrant bar where the expertly crafted drinks and impeccable service kept the energy soaring.

We walked nearly 40 long minutes to visit but it was totally worth it. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a delicious Italian white wine. You choose your wine in the shop and they give you the setup for the patio. Or you can purchase the wine to go. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

This place was on our list, and I'm so glad we went. You walk into the wine shop, pick a bottle, and if it's one that would be chilled, they go find a cold one for you. Walk out the back door, grab your own wine glasses from one of those commercial plastic dishwasher glass holders, and seek out a table. If you want to order food, they have a QR code at the table. Order, pay, delivery. Very efficient, with no small talk or utensils for that matter. The courtyard is expansive and inviting, and very popular. Get there early. Live gentle jazz played at a volume that did not irritate in the slightest. We had other plans, so only stayed about a hour, but I can see why this would be so popular with the locals. The wine prices are higher that what you might pay in a grocery store, but well worth the price compared to buying the same bottle in a restaurant. Other notes: There is a full bar upstairs. I visited, and will likely return and actually order a beverage. Also a very popular spot, and a nice thing if you don't want wine.

What a pleasant place. Visited on a Wednesday night, there was a live band playing and nearly a full house outside. There's a selection of wine bottles to choose from upon entry, with knowledgeable employees that will help you pick out your wine. Glasses of wine are available upstairs. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Patatas Fritas, and Confit Chicken Leg. All were fantastic.

i loved stumbling across bacchanal!! honestly it was such a vibe and just what the doctor called for on a friday afternoon ending the week. the menu is small but really good, and i appreciated having gluten free options (would have LOVED gf bread but the crackers were really good)we had a ton of chilled wine, ordered some things of the menu, and also got some cheese and meat and built a charcuterie. unfortunately there was no band on when we went to next time ill be sure to check hours in advance, although i assume it would be much harder to find a seat! highly recommend the stuffed dates (my favorite)

I am an avid rosé wine drinker so I like to frequent this place because they have awesome. Live music and an amazing courtyard. (Not pictured)I'm giving this place four stars because they have a steak dish that's $30 and it's the worst steak I've ever had in my life. My husband had some he couldn't even finish it, he spit it out. It looked amazing (refer to my picture) but the taste and texture was not good. And for $30I had high expectations. I was extremely disappointed unfortunately but I like this place - just won't have the steak ever again. It was burnt and slimy. The service is always good - the folks who work there are always friendly and happy!
