I've been depressed about the quality of Chinese food in this city ever since moving here many years ago. Having grown up in Chicago, where there is a real Chinatown and so much authentic Chinese cuisine, I feel sad every time I eat Chinese food here. But as a vegetarian, I noticed this place had dishes that are hard to find here, like Sezchuan eggplant, gai lan, and stir-fried string beans. Unfortunately, they don't deliver outside of Uptown. But I noticed they run lunch specials, so I decided to drive over. The place isn't fancy, and it's not very clean, either. It's very basic - that's the only way I can describe it without being rude. But I was more interested in the food than the ambience. I ended up getting a garlic tofu lunch special that came with egg, fried rice and egg drop soup. They are very flexible with doing substitutions for vegans or vegetarians, btw. The soup was great. The vegetarian egg roll was just okay. But the tofu came with vegetables and was outstanding. Very rich and a little heat. They cook their tofu right. It's tender instead of tough. The egg fried rice was really good (you can get white or brown, though). I also needed to try the string beans, which is one of my favorite dishes. It was really delicious here. I would have preferred both dishes a little more spicy, but I did not request spicy. Maybe next time. Oh - the food came out in less than 5 minutes. I don't know how they did that. These aren't the most popular dishes that you can just have pre-made. Whoever they have in the kitchen is extremely fast! Well nothing here can compare to the Chinese food back home, I'll probably continue to drive out to August Moon to try my way through their vegetarian dishes. It's a bit of a drive for a pickup, so I wish they'd develop a larger delivery zone. They're not on Uber or Door Dash.

They offer lunch special for 12.95-14.95. I ordered the Moo go gain pan with shrimp, white rice and egg roll. Everything was delish. The sauce was light. The egg roll nice and crunchy! Very good! Service good. And the atmosphere as expected....clean and typical Chinese restaurant. I'd come back.

Love August Moon. Love the lady that takes the phone orders. Love the delivery guy. My department orders from August Moon once a month and we call to make an order at 10:45am. We get our food by 11:45.Food is always fresh, no complaints. Our go to is lunch special general tso chicken, sweet n sour chicken, lemon grass chicken and boneless chicken. Their grilled pork vermicelli and lemon grass shrimp substitute fried rice for vermicelli are also delicious! We like the different substitutions if you didn't want the eggroll. Definitely recommend

Stupid expensive for basic American Chinese lunch. $26 for a small Gen Tsao (sp?) with an egg roll + drink - but it was Lundi Gras, and you eat where you can walk once you're at your spot. It wasn't bad tasting, but nothing to ever go back for. Tiny crab Rangoon for $7/4pc. Seriously? At least it was warm? I should have planned better and packed a hamper, but its carnival and ain't nobody got time for that. I didn't take a photo of the food, so here's a parade pic...

This is a Chinese & Vietnamese Restaurant with some Thai dishes. I tend to get the lunch and dinner specials here or the pho. The food here has improved somewhat over the years and these days it can usually be pretty good but sometimes they seem to drop the ball and it is less than good. They used to have some of the most expensive pho in the area but the other places serving pho seem to have raised their prices to around the same level as here. Most of the time these days the other dishes I've had here have been decent for the most part. They seem to give decent portion sizes (although the portions seem to have shrunk a bit from pre-pandemic days) and the service has always been good. The location of this restaurant is very convenient to where I live and is the nearest place to get my pho fix. Overall this is usually a decent spot to grab a quick meal and currently they are giving out more greens with their pho than any of the other Vietnamese spots in the city.

Came here the other day for lunch. I have a friend receiving treatment at Touro Hospital, just a block away, so I walked over here to get some food. I had the egg drop soup and the Vietnamese chicken salad. The egg drop soup was as good as I have had elsewhere. The chicken salad was good but unusual as it had a lot of celery. Food was ready promptly and easy to call in over the phone. The vast majority of their lunch business is takeout! And they are efficient at it. Recommended. They seem to do the basics without issues at pretty good prices -- nothing special but nothing to complain about either!!!! Very convenient for take out to Touro.

Lady was nice on the phone and in person, very helpful. I got the crab Rangoon and wonton soup which was very delicious. It had large mushrooms in it which I was nervous about but ended up being really good! Definitely will go back and try more!

The inside smelled mildewy, the beef and broccoli was really soggy and limp, couldn't really eat it. The pho was edible. We had planned to dine in, but when we smelled the place we took to go.

Mandarin chicken lunch special. What is this brown sauce for the friend chicken when I got home? I don't know, but it's not mandarin chicken sauce. Sweet and common and typical of mandarin chicken. I'm sitting here wondering what it is. It taste good, but if you're expecting a sweet orange sauce, it ain't happening with this. Taste is good.
