Artee

This place is hands down the BEST place to get upholstery fabrics and trims. I wanted to upholster a chair I found on the side of the road, after scouring the usual places I headed to Artee in their new location. Whoa....so many choices. I grabbed a nice mid century pattern and the chair was back to her beautiful self. Then months later I returned, this time a facebook marketplace find, a lovely blue spotted mid-century choice. The staff is always pleasant and willing to help. Then finally another pair of castoffs on the side of the road. Yep.....Back to Artee, their selection just continues to grow. Not everything is bargain basement price, higher quality fabrics, higher prices. BUT there were about 20 or so 5.95$ bolts as I walked in the door. Every style from traditional to far out and funky. Last time I paid 21.95$ per yard for my blue fabric....this time 34.95$ for the greenish turquoise pattern. I can tell you the big box places don't have anything under 50$ so I've already saved a bundle. I am always completely distracted by all the choices, maybe Im creating future projects in my head. On a separate note.....I read the other reviews and all I can say is....more bees with honey than vinegar. The staff is great, check your bad attitude at the door.

Help. I have an addiction to upholstery fabric. So much that I wanted to buy at this shop and I didn't even have a project in mind. Plus y'know I can't really sew.Seriously this shop has amazing fabrics. And they appear to offer custom sewing skills with roman shades and bedding advertised through out the store. What drew me in from the street? The cream settee with the big sale sign (see my photo). So they are clearancing some of their furniture.The store is well laid out and there is plenty of light so you can see the fabrics, which are organized by color and style. There was big selection of indoor/outdoor fabrics and a remainder and clearance section.This is one of about a dozen stores nationwide so they probably offer a bunch more stuff that I didn't even notice. I'll definitely go back...I'm still trying to figure out what I could do with superlong sheer panels with burnout velvet. They're too long/too fancy for a cape. Some sort of wall art perhaps?

Too bad you don't Open on time. You do have a great selection of fabric for upholstery.

Caveat Emptor.......buyer beware. Went in to purchase fabric that I had looked at a few days ago. Was told by salesperson that it was marked 50% off. I returned to purchase a couple of days later. After she confirmed that it was still marked down, she began to fulfill my order. To save time she suggested I pay while she finished up. I walked up to the person at the register to pay and this person told me in a very nasty tone that the fabric was NOT marked down and I must pay the regular price. This was the first interaction I had with this woman and I was totally taken aback at her absolute rudeness. When I said that I was told on two different occasions that the fabric was marked down, she hissed at me that SHE was the one that marks the prices and the fabric was NOT on sale because it was VELVET! (???) Needless to say, I left the fabric, thanked the other salesperson for her help and walked out, never to darken their door again. If this nasty woman is the manager, she needs to be fired...if she's the owner, she needs another type of business where she doesn't have to deal with the public. Had she been nicer or more understanding, I would have probably gone ahead with the purchase and paid double, but not when I'm accosted as though I had done something wrong. Fabric stores are few and far between in this area, but don't bother going here. Buy online...it's less expensive and you don't have to deal with rude people.

Wow - I wish I had something positive to say! Actually, the fabric selection is nice. The staff/owners, however, are not so great. Unhelpful, unaccommodating, rude...shall I say more? I am not sure whether the staff simply feels superior to customers (that's the vibe I have gotten), or whether they are truly too busy to offer a assistance or even a greeting. I have never seen the store busy, so I'm assuming that the staff (who appear to be the location's owners) are simply unhelpful. If you have had great service at Artee Fabrics & Home, please let me know the secret to your success!
