ALDI

This ALDIs is larger and cleaner than others in the GNO area. This location stays clean and well stocked. The difference between this one and location's further north in Mississippi is they have a larger wine & beer selection. The staff is also very nice and helpful. Would come back again if in the area and need something from ALDIs.

I'd been hearing so much about Aldi stores recently, so I was really excited about checking this location out. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. I have absolutely no idea why this/ these stores are trending. It was literally like walking through a salvage grocery store. It wasn't junky or dirty, but that was the feeling looking at the products. Some still clearly far more expensive than they should be. It was a total waste of my time driving there, to see what I found inside. There was not one product I found that I wanted or needed. Then you pay for your cart, and your paper bags. I felt like I was back grocery shopping in NY, but at least there in stores you only pay for your bags, and they are usually re-useable! It was crazy. I gave this store 2 stars only because it was clean and mostly orderly. However I have only one recommendation, go shop elsewhere.

This was my first time shopping at an Aldi, and while my friends rave about it and find so many great items, I went in with an open mind and hoping it would live up to the hype. The parking lot at this location is a little difficult to get in and out of depending on which direction you're coming from, but it felt pretty safe there. Overall the store was clean. It was sort of randomly laid out, and I was not really sure where to find anything and I roamed a good bit. I had looked at their flyer before arriving, and was searching for a few of the highlighted items of the week. I finally found some of the advertised pasta salads on the bottom shelf, easy to miss. I think i expected featured items to be higher up so you didn't really have to dig. But most everything else I saw was fairly basic.I only saw one employee in the store and she was at the check out, so I had some questions that did not get answered. I could not find too much of what I was hoping to, so I left empty handed. My city should be opening one soon, so maybe I'll go when they do, but the store did not live up to the hype.

When the Covington store was first opened, the shelves were stocked and I was pleased with my choices. However, now when I go even in the early afternoon, there are empty shelves and not much of what is advertised. Where they keep the carts on the side, there is garbage everywhere. Also, I have had to return bread twice. There was mold on it. I just opened the 40 calorie wheat and there it was again. The dates on the bread are good but maybe the packaging or freezing are not. This has happened with sour dough as well. The owners need to take a look at how this store is being managed. I won't be buying bread any longer.

Better bring a quarter of you want to use one of the carts, cuz you need a quarter to unlock it. Want any bags when you checkout, ya gotta pay for them too. Had I known about both of the above I'd have bought more things and I might have even given Aldi a good review, but I didn't know, didn't have a quarter, do I bought some milk and left.

Not bad of a store, but to get assistance is very difficult. Most of the checkout lanes are self-service, so if you need age verification for a bottle of wine or a product does not ring up correctly, you press the 'help' button and wait and wait and wait. You finally give up because no one comes.

Love it here. Always fast, always affordable, always has what I need without all the crowds, useless hype, and clutter. If you're a practical person and want to get high-quality products for a good price, this is the place. If you want someone to whine to about not being coddled, go to whole foods.
