Authentic and really good. Great service. We loved everything about it. Went back yesterday for my third time there and it was awesome as usual. Those tacos asadas are next level. They start w quality beef and marinate it well. Great friendly service and relaxing atmosphere. I like to sit at the end of the bar in the back, kind of hidden away... where I can see and smell all the great food as the servers come in and out of the kitchen. A full sensory experience.

Ahuuas is good, but I remember it being better once upon a time. It probably wouldn't be my first choice for Mexican, but I would eat there. It does seem a little pricey for Mexican food, but then again, everything is getting crazy expensive, it seems. The interior is unassuming but warm and inviting. Service is pretty good. The time before last when I went, I had enchiladas that were good. I like that they have options you don't see elsewhere. The last time I went I had Birria tacos, which are not on the menu (unless that changed since I went) but were advertised in the window. They had good flavor and were loaded with meat. This is great for carnivores. I would have appreciated more cheese, or a better meat : cheese ratio. The other thing that didn't wow me was the texture. I had to eat the tacos with a fork and knife and would have preferred to have them crispier and able to be handheld as dipping in the consommé was difficult. One thing that did stand out in our last visit as compared to previous visits is that they served what tasted like a chili dip in addition to the salsa. It was different and it was tasty. You'll find solid Mexican food here with some items that may be more Authentic Mexican than the usual Tex-Mex place. They usually don't have a lot of business when I go but I hope they continue to do well.

After a long trip we found this little restaurant on our way home. Quaint little place with not a lot of people for a Friday night. Just us and a table of 4. We started with chips, salsa and beans. All very good! Chips came out hot and the beans were really flavorful. Ordered queso and it's really thick. Nothing watered down here. Drink were just ok. I didn't really like my mango margarita and my husband didn't really enjoy his coronarita so he ordered a regular on the rocks with top shelf & it's was just ehh as well. Ok so as for the entrees, he has chicken fajita nachos and he said they were good and you definitely get a lot but not the best we've had. I thought my chicken enchiladas verde was great! I absolutely loved my meal. Super flavorful and came out piping hot! I would go back just for this! Our server was sweet and attentive and if they had better drinks I would definitely return but it's Mexican and that matters just as much as the food imo. The chamoy on the lime was a nice treat!

I passed by on my way home and saw they were open, in the aftermath of hurricane Ida you have to be quick to go while they are open places are closing early and they are crowded! Been a long while since we have visited Ahuuas (pronounced Ah-haas).This is authentic Central Mexican food, it's pretty good! I had a chili relleno plate and Julie had a couple tacos. The relleno was a little small but done to perfection, the re-fried beans were spot on, and the rice had peas and carrots in it wich was fun. We had a ten minute wait to be seated, we didn't want to sit at the bar or outside in the heat. It's clean, the staff bustles about and the food was out fast enough. Serving size was enough to fill us up!Parking is a little difficult because the lot is both small and narrow. It's a fun place y'all should stop in!!!!!

This review is a few days old. I took my cousin out for lunch so I wasnt really mindful when I paid for our lunch. I was aware that they charge additional 5% for credit card. What I didn't realize until im writing this review... my server gave herself 18% tip already. It's pretty slick because I tipped her on top of that. I find it also suspicious that she brought my credit card into the kitchen and didn't come out until 8 min later. Why was the transaction done in the back instead of the front? My fajita was good .. and my cousin's beef taco was ok except a few beef strips that didn't taste right. Overall everything was good except the bill. Yes I should've did the math but I didn't think I have to question my server. In the end I tipped her almost 40%

Was not impressed at all.. I've heard nothing but good things about this place so me and my girlfriend decided to check it out. We waited forever for our server to get our order, bring refills, etc. She was very sweet but they were definitely understaffed. Margaritas tasted like syrup and mix, not tasty at all. And they weren't on the menu/didn't have a drink menu so you had to guess what you wanted and how much they were. The chips were stale and tasted like Tostitos you get from the grocery store. We sat outside and it was cute, but they had plastic fold up tables and metal chairs.. not what you would typically see on a restaurant patio.. Overall we probably wont be back.

For Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend that you try Ahuuas. It is our "go-to" restaurant, serving the traditional fare of tacos, burritos, fajitas, and other unique and delicious dishes featuring ribs, skirt steak, and shrimp. The wait staff is excellent and so pleasant catering to all of our dining needs. The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. As for the margaritas, they are fantastic. Don't miss out on this great authentic and conveniently located Mexican restaurant.

We dined at Ahuua's Mexican Restaurant today, and my entire family was impressed. Service was prompt and polite. The food was very fresh and clearly homemade, and the menu was expansive. My dish had steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo; all meats were good and seemed to be of good quality. Veggies seemed freshly prepared. The dessert was fantastic. I will definitely return!

Ok, I've come here plenty of times. I've tried multiple dishes. Today was my last. I ordered the expensive ribs and "breaded shrimp". Online the price of the meal was 24.99. I called to see what the sides will be with the meal. NO SIDES COME WITH THE ORDER. Ok, so I order rice and beans to go with the meal. I really wanted queso but they're charging $10 for a cup. Smaller than the container for the rice. So, the meal was a big let down. The ribs were old but just had a fresh coat of sauce to hide that fact. The shrimp were the cheapCoconut breaded shrimp you get from Walmart(no exaggerating). There was barely any cheese on the shrimp. It honestly tasted like a shoe. I added onions and peppers to my meal just cause. But man the fact that my order was almost $40 and I could've had more food for the same price else where which just really upset me. Plus they charge me more for a root beer than they're online price.
