I went on the Yelp app while visiting New Orleans to look for a lunch spot for me and my friends. I found Faubourg Bistro with a great rating and a good looking menu. I was using the walking directions for Google Maps and it brought me to the 700 Club. I walked in and asked the bartender who informed me I was in the right place.Lawrence was a magnificent bartender. He told my friends and I we could sit at the bar or a table, place our food order at the window in the back and our food would be served to us. He also allowed us to sample a few of the draft beers before we purchased the one we liked. Lawrence was so personable and attentive. He helped make my first visit memorable! The ambiance was festive, comfi and cool (which is very important in the summer months!). I loved the old wooden bar! It was a beautiful historic building;)They were playing 80s music with videos to match. We heard anything from Prince to the Bee Gees. The bathrooms could use a little TLC though. It wasn't dirty, but the stall doors didn't lock.I will absolutely stop back here again on my next trip to NOLA for some food and an ice cold beer.

I absolutely love coming here to visit when I can get a chance on Fridays. Such a welcoming and attentive staff. I literally come because it's a great place to sit alone and meet new friends at the bar or come in with a group of friends and dance the night away. They have large LCD TVs which fun tunes and videos playing continuously. My favorite thing about this particular bar is on Fridays their happy hour is known at Beat The Clock, where starting at 5pm, well-drinks are $2 and every hour the price goes up $.50cents. And by all means the drinks are STRONG! I have been here a few times and I truly enjoy the bartenders Lawrence & Ryan. So attentive. The food is totally great and very tasty. It's rare to find a bar of this type that actually has legit tasty, yummy bites to eat. EVERY SINGLE thing on the menu I have tried this far and no complaints whatsoever

First off, this is now called American Townhouse. It is no longer located at 700 Burgundy as named after--It is the same people who owned the bar, before the space was bought from under them--The food is not the same as what was cooked by the kitchen at 700, and is several layers below. Though it is exceedingly fresh and crisp, it is no where near as vivacious in flavors as the previous space-- that is now currently Betty's Bistro. The space was baught out, same cooks and restaurant, just a different name. The food is bland and, while fresh, flavorless and not deserving of the New Orleans reputation. I just ate at American Townhouse, and am leaving after dinner for my late dinner at Betty's.

This bar was the perfect place for my group and I to have a few drinks and enjoy the ambience. It was pretty crowded the particular day I went due to it being a popular holiday weekend, so it was a little tough to maneuver through the crowd. However, once my group got through, we found a spot to chill and enjoy our tasty drinks. The bartenders and staff was cool, the music was fun, and the crowd was lively. Definitely one of the best bar spots in the area for the gay community.

Nothing special about this restaurant/bar. Don't quite understand how this place had an overall 4.5 stars. Had a grilled chicken sandwich with coleslaw. Chicken sandwich had garlic mayo and tomatoes on it. Coleslaw did not come out with the sandwich, which was disappointing. Coleslaw was a little too mayonnaisey and could have been slightly sweeter. My sandwich was brought out with french fries, which were okay, nothing too memorable. I'm guessing people come here more for the drinks and the gay atmosphere, if that is your thing.

Very popular gay bar. It can get very crowded on the weekends and during events but in a fun way. You most likely won't get a seat but you aren't there to sit! The bartenders are some of the best in the FQ! I've never waited long for a drink or to close a tab. There is always great music and the videos are hypnotizing once you get a few drinks in ya. It's a great spot to finish your night in. Or maybe I should say you won't be able to go anywhere else after the 700 club. You'll be more then satisfied. The restaurant in the back is a stand out! The loaded fries with that house made cheese sauce will call to you in your sleep! Anything with the roast beef and horsey sauce is a must too! In my photo, I paid extra to get the roast beef and horsey sauce on my fries = GAME CHANGER!

If the name alone doesn't make you wanna stop by for drinks, then who are you? What I love about 700 Club, other than the name, is that it has a screen and monitors that plays music videos! Ah, the memories that rushed back to me after watching Brittney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time! A very noteworthy aspect of this bar is the non traditional bar food! They take risk with there menu, but as a non risk taker, I ordered the fries and Brussels sprouts. The fries were excellent, because they're fries, but the Brussels sprouts were a hard no.... :/There's plenty of space for people to stand around or sit at the bar or table. Parking is hard to find since it's in the French Quarter, so now you have a reason to Uber and to not drink (as) responsibly! :).

As soon as I walked in and saw the big screens playing pop music videos, I knew I would love this place. This bar is SO FUN! David and I came here to try Fauboirg Bistro, but ended up hanging out after we ate and watched a bit of the LSU game. They have an amazing happy hour special on Saturdays- 2 for 1 doubles and $3 draft beer (and it's good beer!). They are very generous with the pours and they also have wine on tap, if that's what your into. There's a definite party vibe in here and I can see this place being a lot of fun as the evening wears on. Everyone i met was so sweet and friendly and happy to chat. I'll review the food in another post, but if you are coming for drinks you are going to have a great time.
