This awesome pet shop was recommended from a coworker. He is all about aquatic pets, and he raved about them. There are numerous pets, including birds, turtles, snakes, eels, stingrays, freshwater turtles, and a wonderful variety of fish. I absolutely love the staff, especially sweet Cassie. She was very knowledgeable in helping us setup our aquarium with ALL the things. I even brought my sister in to check out the aquatic pets. Please do yourself a favor in go! You won't be disappointed!

pretty good place to get things fit your more outlandish pets. I have a hamster turtle and a bunch of different fish and it's easy to find a bit of everything for all of them.

Check out my motley (kalh) albino boa! My new best friend!! Got him from 50 fathoms a few months ago and me and this guy I name "Carmelo" are connected like no other. My son handles him all the time as well as many onlookers and he loves the attention! They were super helpful in getting me all the info and equipment I needed and I would recommend this pet shop to anyone in southern Louisiana!

Been going here for years. They are very helpful and have a great knowledge of exotic freshwater fish. The kids love going to see the fur babies here also. Most of the negative reviews here seem to be based on their own lack of knowledge, caring for animals purchased here. Seems to be the animals would get sick after some time at their own homes. Please "educate before you medicate" for yourselves and animals in your care. Putting in the time to learn proper caring techniques will go a long way!

Upon first walking in, this seems like a pretty cool place. The more you walk through the store, the truth definitely begins to show itself. The condition some of these tanks were in was absolutely disgusting. Especially the bio tanks in the back. There is NO excuse for how disgusting they were. Tons of dead/dying freshwater fish, we had enough and decided to leave. Personally, I'm concerned for the welfare of these animals. A store of this size is unnecessary if you can't staff appropriately.

This one of my favorite pet stores. The workers are very kind. The store smells horrible but it is worth it. They have beautiful fish.

This place. Prepare to attempt to buy overpriced reptiles. They have a great selection, just be prepared to pay retail + 100%. I attempted to buy a turtle. I could not get the store owner/manager to give me the time of day. I asked for a discount on the $150 sulcata baby turtle as you can buy one online for $60 with $40 in overnight shipping you're looking at $100. So I asked to buy one for $100. He was pretty shifty in allowing me to view the turtles he had. He grabbed one out of the 20 available let me hold it while a kid employee was to supervise and locked the cabinet back and took off. I gave the kid the turtle to tracks Mike back down. Then I asked if we could work a deal. He said ok if I bought a "full" setup for retail. I said that sounds fair, however, he took off again... what's a full set up? Ridiculous. We left. Found one on Facebook marketplace in the area for $60. Don't shop here if you can avoid it. Thanks.

The reason I am giving this business one star is because I bought two algae eating sucker fish on a Sunday afternoon for $60.00 and I come Monday evening and one fish is stiff as a board. I call the business to get a credit or another fish and they tell me to bring a sample of my water to be tested which will determine what happens next.I do not agree with No Exchange, No Refund on fish because one day should be an exception to a rule. You should at least give a patron a week or up to the store managers decision.I have to loss time and money because of a $30.00 dead fish.I know I am one in hundreds of customers that come in 50 Fathoms but it will be a long time before I go back to this do business with this store.I am sure they will probably move again by the time I am ready to do business with them.Beware of buying fish because this can definitely be a ripoff.

This place is awesome. I've been going since the old location, buying new world cichlids and tank busters who can survive them. Never had an issue with sick fish or improper packing (I live 3 hours away, they use the "good aire")The new spot is really nice and much bigger for all the tanks of any possible species you could ever want. People whining about the little tanks for the FH and separating other out the aggressive fish have no idea what they're talking about. Old school pet store with a hilarious owner and knowledgeable staff. 10/10 do recommend for any serious freshwater keeper or herper. 3 of the fish in the pic are from here.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place needs to be shut down. Please, I am begging all who love animals, do not support this company. They knowingly sell sick animals. I bought a corn snake from them and it passed away after a few months due to being born with an underlying condition that could've easily been identified at birth. The vet also informed me that they found bacteria that is only found in reptiles caught in the wild. Each professional that I spoke to is horrified with this place. To the owner: you should be ashamed.
