I've never been to 14 Parishes before, so it was great that I got to try! This is a fairly new location for them and I hope more people find out about it. This was a cute casual restaurant, quite spacious and with plenty of seating. It was pretty quiet around 6:30pm on a Friday, but it was starting to pick up more after sitting for a little while. I think they get a decent amount of pickup orders.I tried their jerk chicken plate ($20) which comes with 2 sides of your choice. I chose the plantains and their mac and cheese (which was +$2 plus). For $20, this plate is really filling with very hearty portions! You'll be full and satisfied with this meal. The sides were great, the mac and cheese was amazing! It was super flavorful and you could tell they use quality cheese to make this side. SO worth an extra two bucks! The plantains were good too, soft, sweet, and plentiful. They do NOT skimp on the protein here! You won't be leaving hungry for sure. The chicken was tender, juicy, and well-cooked. The skin was crispy and browned perfectly. Yum! My only wish was that the seasoning for the chicken would be stronger. I wished more of the jerk seasoning was used to give it a little more oomph! The jerk chicken plate is a great deal and very satisfying! Just needs a little more of that famous Jamaican jerk seasoning! I'll have to come back to try out their other menu items! I'm so happy that I got to check out a new spot!!

We had eaten at the 14 parishes on the Westbank recently, so I was excited to get Jamaican again. No flavor in the stewed chicken, the macaroni was super bland and the carrot cake tasted old! This was a Sunday afternoon when they were busy so the food should have been cooked better.Disappointing to say the least. Will not return to the one on Oak. But I will be back to the Westbank!

After a movie night, stopped in at this restaurant. The staff is so friendly. The restaurant was busy and being well served. We ordered chicken curry, jerk chicken and a brown stew chicken. Also ordered two ox tails to go for two former office colleagues. Parking was challenging. Had a red stripe beer and an old St Elizabeth cocktail. We enjoyed everything. We love jerk chicken and curry chicken. The Mac and cheese was so good!

Best chicken I've ever had! I started with a rum punch and then set out to order the jerk chicken, something I've never had in an authentic Jamaican restaurant. I chose the white meat portion with callaloo and rice and peas. I was expecting bone-in chicken but when the plate arrived with chunky, grilled and seasoned sliced boneless chicken breast, I was happy. At the first bite, I knew this was the first time I had had white meat that was juicy, not dry. Packed with flavor, not bland. I plan to go back again this week. I also tried the fish bites appetizer which was a hearty plate of fried plantain and lightly crusted fish with a spicy sweet mayo dipping sauce. The menu has a variety of options and the restaurant is casual with beautiful artwork and a "speakeasy" upstairs. I was greeted warmly and my waiter gave excellent advice on what to try. I can't wait to bring friends and family to try the jerk chicken.

I came here for a yelp event but I ended up purchasing some entrees as well. It was a rainy day so it was very empty. Unfortunately the service wasn't really the best, the server was pointing to things and not actually speaking to us. After about 20-25 minutes we had to verbally call him to the table to take the rest of our order. He was apologetic so I didn't think too much of it. It took about 30 minutes for the 1 appetizer and took quite some time for the entrees too. The jerk wings and rum punch were both good! I think the wings could've used ranch to really set it off. The rum punch isn't something I'd typically order but the server pointed to the drink menu after we tried to order a margarita so we assumed that meant you can only order what was listed. But they were good and not too sweet. For my entree I got the short ribs, macaroni and plantains. My husband got the oxtail, mashed potatoes and festival bread. My short ribs weren't as tender as I hoped they would be but the flavor was still good. The oxtails were cooked perfectly. The plantains weren't as sweet as I normally like but all of the other sides were good. The festival bread tastes like a beignet but it has the texture of bread. It was really good and would actually make a delicious dessert. All in all, everything was good but I'm not sure if I would personally be in a rush to go back. Also, the music playlist was really good

Came to NOLA for a conference and I got so many recommendations for this place so me and my friends tried it! And wow - this is the best Jamaican food I've had in a LONG time. On a Thursday night the restaurant slowly became packed. The food did take a bit long to come out but I also think that's just encause of how hungry we were. Mow onto the main course. The drinks were pretty good. We both got strong drinks and the alcohol was hidden (in my opinion lol). As for the food, it was so delicious. I'm ALWAYS going to refer some oxtail, cabbage, and plantain and I have no complaints at all.all my friends loved their food as well. One of my friends actually said this was the best cornbread she's ever had, she ate 5?!!!! LOL.What really stood out to me was the portions! I feel like many times when I've had Jamaican food there is usually not alot - especially with meat. But I can't say the same for 14 Parishes. I feel like this is the most oxtail I've ever been served at a restaurant!!!So it's safe to say I found my new go to Jamaican spot for whenever I'm in NOLA!!!

We had a taste for Caribbean cuisine and thought about this spot. It was a Sunday night so we were quickly seated. It took awhile for our food to come out. Plantins were super old while the rest of food was barely warm. I ate a little and saved the rest for lunch the next day. I had curry chicken, rice & peas, and plantins. He had jerk chicken which all he had left were bones. LOL

My first visit to 14 Parishes on Oak Street was an absolute delight. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the intoxicating aroma of Caribbean spices and the lively rhythm of great music that instantly set the mood.Despite the Saturday night rush, the staff made sure to keep us informed about our meal's progress, apologizing for the delay. The wait was well worth it. The salmon sliders were a burst of flavor, and the jerk chicken, paired with sweet plantains and creamy mac & cheese, was simply outstanding--an absolute must-try.The vibrant atmosphere and the mouthwatering dishes made for a memorable evening. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. Overall, 14 Parishes earns a solid 4 stars from me.
