I am a huge fan of New Hong Kong, The food and service are great, if I list everything I like on the menu; it would be a novel. The service is great; in fact some person did a dine & dash, so I paid for the meal; because these people work very hard and we should support small businesses.Only thing I would like to see as an 3rd generation Asian American is the Cantonese Chow Mein like Sing High.Otherwise, I will go to New Hong Kong to dine in and/or take out.

I paid over $100 for a takeout meal that included seven dishes. One was a rice dish and another was a noodle dish. The Mongolian beef was awfully salty and that's what you see in the picture - the leftover which is going into the garbage. Most of the pieces of duck barely had any meat and it was mostly skin. You see the leftover in the picture. The garlic chicken and mixed vegetables are pretty much the same dish and you could almost call them soup because they were swimming in sauce! When I opened the containers, I thought they were the same dish but, then noticed a few pieces of chicken in one container. The only thing worth mentioning is the Singapore noodles, which was pretty decent. Can't say that I liked the huge chunks of chewy beef in the House fried rice. A proper fried rice will have small pieces of meat or shrimp along with small pieces of vegetables. The website states that they have over 20 years of experience, but I don't think they meant experience in Chinese cooking. It's saddens me that this food is a far cry from what the original owners offered. Our first visit to eat in the restaurant after the new owners took over was approximately six months ago, and the food seemed OK so we thought we'd give it another shot. After trying additional offerings on the menu today, we will not be going back.

I gave it for stars not for the food but the staff. Not friendly at all. No eye contact. God for bid you ask for an extra napkin! Why I come back, the food is truly delicious! This place has been around for years!

I have not been here in many years, and I feel I have not missed out on anything other than the ownership has changed and not for the better. Met a friend for lunch, the place was empty. Yet it still took too long for us to get service.Food ......Ice tea yuck, had a funky taste not drinking that. Hot and Sour soup was gelatinous and too sour bluck! The spring roll? It was tiny, crispy on the outside and I have no clue wat was on the inside, it was mushy and white. Hard pass on that item. The wonton was small overcooked and another interior mystery. Let that one go too.The rice was fried with a miniscule amount of egg and no flavor until I added some soy sauce. The Mongolian beef was on the sweet side, the onion was good the pepper was burnt. Service.... It was very slow, there were only 3 other tables 2 person occupied, saw 3 small to go orders leave during the hour we were there. Also unprofessional, one of the employees had a small child behind the counter pushing him back and forth in a large stroller. This was after a man appeared from the kitchen carrying the child. Ambiance.... cold, dirty this place needs a good cleaning and fresh paint. Just not enjoyable. The best part of my lunch was the person I had to endure this meal with. I wont be back and I cannot recommend that anyone else subject their taste buds to this agony, just yuck.

Tried this restaurant for the first time in five years. The food is actually very good compared to other Chinese restaurants in central Phoenix. They have a nice lunch menu, and I would highly recommend this place.

Placed a very large order for Christmas eve and ehy had the food ready in under 30 minutes! Super fast, very good food, and the prices are tough to beat. Really enjoyed their sweet and sour and lemon chicken, the meat was nnice and crunchy and the suaces were tangy and delicious. Will definitely return!

I have been coming here with my family recently. I recommend them because they have a pretty good dinner combination deal. It is priced very fairly as it comes with the main dish, noodles, crab Rangoon, spring roll and egg drop soup. They also serve Thai tea! Which is my favorite. Service could be better but they still do a good job. The environment of the restaurant is cute and date friendly.

I used to LOVE this restaurant and its food. It was always quick, hot and great tasting. However, they recently closed for a time around Thanksgiving. I just received my 1st order and the Crab Puffs were way below sub-par, compared to before. All have barely any filling and are all dough. They are usually piping hot, and only lukewarm this time. Driver got food here very reasonable quickly. Noodles were tasty but I requested chop sticks and no MSG. No chop sticks were included, so I'm assuming I got MSG too. Big disappointment to my typical experience here. I've religiously ordered this same order ever so often. Not sure I'll be ordering again.

Still waiting for a "Cha Chaan Teng" here in Phoenix. I heard one closed in Tempe. This curry beef is good. Would like Chinese Beef Curry with Beef Tendons.

I ordered several items using a delivery app, so I can't speak to the service other than they correctly filled my order. The wor wonton soup stood out as so delicious that I plan to order it every single time I order from here again. I couldn't tell what was the flavoring of the meat inside of the wontons, but it was savory and borderline sweet. Get the large. The only thing I'd have wanted adjusted were the baby corns, because they weren't baby. Maybe a third (~33%) of them had actual, hard cob centers. That was the only flaw. The other items I ordered weren't without fault, but they were certainly above average, so I'd rate them each a 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars.- Chicken lo mein- Sweet and sour chicken- Fried rice- Beef with Chinese vegetables- Orange chickenA generalized description for these items was that not a single one was too oily (which can be hard to find when it comes to lo mein specifically), and each of them was adequately seasoned/flavorful. Nothing was overdone. In terms of cook temperature, the chicken came close to being too dry, but only barely, and the sauces more than made up for it. The beef was cooked perfectly, and was not stringy with tendons at all. The lo mein noodles were cooked well, but not flawlessly.Overall, this is a great place for takeout.
