This is my favorite Chinese BBQ place in Chicago. The interior is clean, with a couple of tables in case you want to dine-in instead of take-out. There is a menu is available in English, and the staff also speaks English if you need that - Canto and Mandarin otherwise.Food-wise, my favorites are the crispy pork belly and the princess chicken for both take-out and dine-in. The pork belly consistently has a nice crispy layer to it without feeling too hard to chew. The fat is rendered nicely also. The princess chicken tastes really refreshing, and goes very well with the dipping sauce that they provide - eat both with a large bowl of white rice and some vegetables on the side for a nutritious, light meal.If you choose to dine-in (which I actually highly recommend), their combination meals come with 1 to 2 BBQ items, rice, veggies (bok choy or napa cabbage in my experience), a small radish soup, and a tea egg. Service is quick and no-nonsense. Other items to choose from are roast duck, char-shiu, soya chicken, and if you're feeling adventurous, pigeon. This is all fine and dandy but to top it off, New Great Wall probably has some of the cheapest prices for a meal in Chinatown, and in Chicago. It's been a small while, but last I checked, everything was around $12 a meal. Definitely on my frequently visited spots in Chicago, and somewhere I wholeheartedly recommend for a quick lunch.

Takes credit card The 3 combination meat platter $12- over rice, veggie, tea egg, cup of soup. It's perfect for one person for a meal. Char shiu- tender meat, but was lacking flavor. Roast duck- duck meat was tough, flavor was lacking, I wish it was cooked slowerRoast Pork- decent flavor. Skin was crunchy Har gow- lots of huge pieces of shrimp. Shiu Mai- large size but I was not seasoned wellSpare ribs - soft meat, but also lacking flavor.

Simple meat and rice dishes with fast service and and unbeatable price! Rating 8/10 | Price $12 per person.Ordered carry out without calling in and chose to get the three meat combo. They do have the option to dine in their simple restaurant and they will validate parking if you spend enough. One order gets three meats ranging from okay Char Siu to an incredible pork belly but at this price nothing they serve is bad. Also comes with soup. Great for a quick mini meal to share or take home dinner!

This place never disappoints. Their pork and how prepared is just the right flavor! The duck...always done so well here. Every time we make it to Chicago / we make it to the New Great Wall. On this trip, we even went there twice this visit!

After a nice weekend in Chicago, I was anxious to hit the Chinatown on our way back out of town and stock up on some of my favorite Chinese baked goods. Being there around lunchtime necessitated a stop in for some BBQ meats too, and that is where New Great Wall BBQ came in for our group. Upon entering the establishment, there were several different tables to choose from, and the waitress was quick to provide menus. I opted for the 3-meat plate and got BBQ pork (char siu), Roast Duck (siu ngaap), and crispy pork belly (siu yuk). The portion was generous and easily shared between my wife and I. We also gave bites to my young sons who enjoyed the BBQ pork quite a bit. Flavors were good, service was quick, and I'll definitely be back during the next Chicago stopover.

Delicious food, but below par service. The food tasted great. I would give it 5 stars if it was just about the food. We ordered roast pork, roast duck, bbq pork (char siu), squid, and wonton soup. The char siu was flavorful and juicy. The roast pork had a crispy skin layer, and the meat was tender. The duck was good as well. I've had roast duck elsewhere at which the duck is usually more bones than actual meat. But the duck meat here was substantial and not too fatty. I also liked the duck sauce they served with it. The squid was solid as well. The restaurant was quaint and clean. However, the service wasn't great. If you don't call out to the waiters for what you need, you probably won't get any service. This is the style of many Chinese restaurants. Another party behind us got up and left because no one came to take their orders for a very long time. However, we got the attention of our waitress by calling her over and telling her we were ready. If this isn't your style, you probably won't have a great experience here.

For a lack of better words, I just want you to know that my life was changed and has never been the same. The food is ridiculously affordable and the portion size is great, one plate was two meals for me. The food was absolutely delicious. I think about it everyday. I NEED to go back. I'm so happy we bumped into this place. The meat was flavourful and so fulfilling. The sesame balls?! YUM! Yum.

New Great Wall BBQ offers unbeatable convenience, taste, and affordability, making it one of my go-to places in Chinatown. I often gravitate towards their build-your-own noodle or rice with a BBQ item, and am always impressed by the incredible value at just $8 with some change. Their dishes are delicious and feel very home-y, with generous portions that left me fully satisfied (I often leave with leftovers). The affordability combined with the delicious taste and quality of the food truly set this restaurant apart.Another perk of this restaurant, is their cleanthiness and newer renovations, creating a pleasant atmosphere for both dine-in and take-out experiences. So whether you choose to enjoy your meal in their dining area or opt for a quick to-go order, the experience is consistently enjoyable.

Biggest takeaway from here is that you will absolutely get your bang for your buck!! This place offers affordable prices with just the right portions without sacrificing flavor. I always come here and order the rice or noodle bowl and with duck and pork belly for my meat selections (~$10). I love how it also comes with a side of soup and veggies! New Great Wall BBQ truly does not receive the hype and attention it deserves.

Food is great. I get the Wide Noodle 3 Meat option. Usually 3 bbq pork. Other options that are really good is their crispy pork belly and cuttlefish (squid). Try to call and order ahead as they get a bit of a lunch rush.
