I have been coming to this quaint buffet ever since I was a kid. It has not changed much over the years, although some of the food quality has gone down (in particular, the orange chicken and the chow mein). They have also gotten rid of most of the desserts (no more pudding or little pastries). New China Buffet has decent prices ($26 for AYCE for 2), decent food, and decent service. My favorite dish upon my last visit was the black pepper chicken, although it was too salty. They have a good selection of different kinds of food for being such a small place. Seafood, chow mein, fried rice, lots of chicken, beef, and veggie dishes. AYCE also comes with a fountain drink! Overall, New China Buffet is good for a quick, cheap meal!

Not much new about New China Buffet. The food variety was good, but the quality was a mixed bag. Half of the selections were average and the other half were inedible or unappetizing. This is an aging restaurant with the owner present, but indifferent to keeping it neat and clean. Moving the sticky chairs was not the highlight of my day. The Phoenix temperature was 110 that day and I walked into a sauna since they had only evaporative cooling, no ac. Yikes! The evap cooling couldn't keep me from sweating. My requests to the owner for items were met with a silent, sour look. Couldn't tell if she was angry or non-English speaking (or both). Needless to say, this was one of my fastest meals for $15 all you can eat, if you can!

This buffet is so-so. Limited amount of choices for a buffet. It's old and rather run down. They use a fan to blow within the inside of the facility--which doesn't enhance this place. The food is less than adequate. Still, the service is prompt.

Prices have gone up twice in 2 months. A dinker to-go stryro is now $12.75.Barely acceptable taste. How can you make broccoli taste so bad?!Well they've done it. The shrimps are smaller, the noodles taste funky.Choose your items wisely. Will they EVER get rid of all that damn jello? They DO have hot mustard for the egg rolls by the other hot sauces.Don't go here unless you're starved out of your mind and on a budget, and don't be shocked at the fried chicken parts, I feel sorry for these chickens culled in their adolescence. A sense of shame and guilt overcame me while I ate them.....like I should have a white cloth over my head to hide from God.

I was craving Chinese food but could not settle on one dish so decided to try a Chinese buffet. Should have saved my money and just got a cheese crisp. There's about 26 options for you to choose from. The majority of the food was luke warm and very salty. They only had one soup, egg drop but it was lukewarm and was forming a skin on the surface. They only identified a few of the dishes the rest you had to relay on what you thought it was. The orange chicken was descent but had a lot of chicken fat. The place just had a feeling of being dirty. They need to do a complete cleaning and repaint the walls. Overall not the best experience of an outing for a chinese buffet.

The outside looks like the traditional Chinese and eastern cuisine but there are a variety of foods here at is buffet. I had hot wings, oysters, crab, shrimp, coffee cake, ribs, chicken, enchiladas, deserts and even bread rolls so buttered. It was very packed and full of many customers. I seen a lot of families so maybe come with your family and create a pleasant memory.Chicken Wing

4 stars because the ambiance is average. But, whatever! The outdated environment makes me feel like I'm In a movie or something, haha.Anyhow, the food is really good for the price. I wouldn't be surprised however if the food varies depending what time you go.The place is obviously not a 5 star restaurant, it's really a dingy little place... but if you're trying to get your bang for your buck- it's this place. I wish this place got a little more love. I'm sure if this place was popping, it wouldn't have the reviews that it does.

This place is not bad if your on a very tight budget & are looking for a variety of Chinese food for under $10, and it's all you can eat. The staff was friendly & very involved with helping me when I walked in, so I appreciated that. Also, this was my first time visiting New China, and I was told it's been around for many years. I do agree with a previous comment, the Crab Puffs \ Rangoons were very good. It's a buffet, so you get what you get. I personally can say I've only been to great buffets in Las Vegas, but have yet to find one that "wows" me here in AZ.
