I recently went to Nelson's Green Brier Distillery for Sunday brunch with a group of friends, and it was a fantastic experience! The dining area is spacious with lots of natural light, giving it a warm, casual vibe. It wasn't too loud, and everything was spotless. Our server, Savannah, was amazing. Even with a group of eight, she kept everything running smoothly and made sure our waters were always refilled. We started off with the bourbon mimosas, which were made with local bourbon from the distillery -- perfectly balanced and delicious! For food, I had the avocado toast and my partner had the brisket hash. The brisket hash was phenomenal, and my partner cleaned the plate. The avocado toast was also great, though I should've added some protein. They didn't have chicken or turkey sausage, but Savannah brought out potatoes on the house as a substitute, which was such a thoughtful touch.Parking was easy too. We parked in the gravel lot across the street, where there's free parking, though there's also paid parking nearby. For two drinks and brunch, our total came to about $65 which was reasonable for 2 people, plus the quality and experience. I highly recommend this spot and can't wait to go back -- next time I'll definitely do the distillery tasting tour!

Wow! This place wasn't on my lists of spots to visit on our Nashville vacation but it's the best whiskey I've had in a long time. My wife and I split the Flagship Flight and loved everything on it. My sister had the Whiskey Sour and my parents split the Cold Fashioned. Each of the cocktails was so well balanced and delicious. This was just one stop of a larger tour and I'm sad we didn't get to stay longer because I wanted to sample more. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have time to go back before we leave town. I'll add that the service was remarkable the the tasting room/restaurant were just beautiful. While we didn't eat there, the food looked and smell amazing. This is a MUST stop spot. I'm gonna order some when we get back home.

I learned a lot of history from the tour guide "Sophia" in regarding the family and history of Tennessee whiskey. The tasting at the end was awesome and fun. After few tiny shot, with good old whiskey which already gave you a kick. You also could head to the bar for more drink. The cold fashion : ) was awesome in a hot day. The long bar table and open dinning area help to build the vibe, a little rustic with modern look. I like open concepts and spacing between tables. Also, you get 10% discount at the shop. Overall great experience and I wish I have more cash for tips!!! Also, I didn't know until I sat at the bar table, they also have bottle of gin and volka. The bartender told me it was in-house or local sale only. As for the menu. You can't go wrong with small bite on Duck Fat Cornbread, Burn Ends Elotes, and Chicken Wings. Then No. 5 burger and Bavarian Bratwurst. Service was fast, too. I asked them why don't have any brisket on the menu. You can't never go wrong with brisket and whiskey : )

I was part of a large group attending a conference where this was part of the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Adventure. We were fortunate to get the full tour in addition to a bourbon tasting. Very much worth it and very educational. As being part of the tour, we're also able to get 10% off the gift shop. They're the makers of Belle Mead Reserve Bourbon which won an award several years ago. The tour starts in the room where many old photos, collectibles and a mural timeline shows the history of the distillery along with the revival of the business after nearly 100 years. This distillery is probably 5+ years with many great years ahead. We saw the barrel storage area and the bottling area as well as the main copper still. The bourbon tasting was very good. I learned a lot about sour mash and bourbon. The tour guide was very informative. The bourbons themselves were excellent. Unfortunately they didn't have Belle Mead as one of the samples. We did have the Nelsons Reserve as well as some of their standard bourbons. They were all good and priced well in the gift shop. I didn't want to check a bag when flying home so I couldn't purchase. I did get a nice rain jacket, though. I was told by the gift shop cashier that I could purchase the bourbon at the airport post security. I did exactly that. Makes a great gift as well.

Take the tour! It's the second best part of Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, honestly. My tour guide was engaging, I learned a lot about Tennessee whiskey and bourbon, I got to taste a lot of Tennessee whiskey and bourbon, and I left with a nice t-shirt that I bought at the gift shop. The first-best part of Nelson's is the food. As much as I love whiskey and bourbon, I love a great meal slightly more, and you can get a great meal here at the restaurant inside the distillery. I visited with a group, so we got a few different things:Deviled eggs: amazing, as all deviled eggs are. I've yet to eat a bad deviled egg, ever. These are great.Bavarian soft pretzel: This was just fine. It comes with pimento cheese and whiskey mustard on the side. Distiller's Board: this is a charcuterie board with cheese, fruits, crackers, cured meats, pickles and candied nuts. I could have picked off this board with a Cold Old Fashioned (a frosty whiskey drink my friend got that I tasted), and I would have been exceedingly happy. For my main, I got the carnitas tacos, which came with pickled red onion, crema and cilantro. They are huge! I would recommend splitting this entree with another person, because after the first taco, I was well acquainted with the tastes and flavors, and the second and third tacos were just more of the same. If I had to do it all over again, I would have ordered the salmon croquettes, which I'm not seeing on the online menu, but they were on the menu when we visited. They are basically balls of salmon and herbs fried and served with tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon. Yum yum yum -- I'm still thinking about these balls of fish. They were perfectly crispy yet chewy. My favorite combination. The restaurant in the distillery is bright and airy, with high ceilings and lots of windows. You almost feel like you're sitting in a fancy barn or something. The tables are set with cloth napkins and earthen-colored flatware -- with pothos placed delicately in glass jars as table centerpiece -- so there's a simple, natural vibe going on here. The restaurant is nice but unpretentious. It's a must-stop before or after you do your whiskey tasting.

Glamorous visit to this distillery, friendly staff, we were late for tours but offered a local discount code for a return. The ambiance is upscale & fancy. We did not order food as the kitchen was closing but the menu looked very appealing. It's so beautiful to sit at the bar and see the vats of the distillery where the whiskey is curated. Our cocktails were phenomenal. Will be returning!

We had our wedding here on 9/28/24 and I have to say...what an amazing venue. Everything was so easy from start to finish. Working with Philip and Lakendra made my life so super easy! Aesthetically, this place is second to none. The food was amazing and the banquet staff made all of our guests feel very well looked after. If you are planning any event, think about using Green Brier. You won't be disappointed.

We did a walk in since it was a rainy day. No one greeted us and when we approached someone they didn't seem too kind or interested in helping. They informed us that there were no open spots for the tour, but if we waited an hour, maybe they would be able to put us on another tour. Unfortunately we couldn't wait that long and just sat at the bar and ordered the cosmopolitan and a whisky sour. The bartender Daniel was super friendly and quick. We didn't eat any of their food, but we did see a cheese platter come out and it looks beautiful and delicious, definitely worth a return for that cheese platter. The distillery itself is behind large glass windows, so you can see it . Very pretty. They also have a designated sitting area for the restaurant, but if you're able to go, I would highly recommend the bar Definitely the best spot.

Admittedly, I have never heard of Nelson brand until recently nor, sampled or tried any of their whiskies, bourbons or ryes. We were in Nashville TN last weekend and did a hop on hop off bus tour. One of the stops was the Motorworks and Nelson's was a short walk from there so we decided to go there. The tours of the distillery were sold out for the day but, we had the opportunity to do a tasting. My wife is not a big fan of whiskey and bourbon unless it's in a cocktail of some sort. We tasted their standard straight aged whiskey, bourbon and their rye whiskey. All had a nice taste and after the first sip, were easy on the palate. Kevin explained the history of Nelson's, the distilling process and the difference between scotch, whiskey, bourbon and rye. You learn something new everyday. After the tasting we headed over to the bar for a whiskey inspired libation. I went with the Boulevardier and I can't remember what my wife got. But both drinks were great. While there we saw some of the food coming from the kitchen. It looked fantastic! Next time for that.
