Needle and thread is a wonderful speakeasy connected to tavern law with skillful bartenders and super friendly staff. This place is reservation only and gets somewhat booked, so would definitely recommend looking a week earlier than when you want to go. My party came in Sunday night and was greeted super warmly by Carrie Lynn. The interior is cozy and a bit eccentric, and there's a large variety of seating to match. Carrie Lynn was honestly such a joy. We all loved her energy and she made the whole experience super straight forward especially since we had 2 first timers. She was super kind and bubbly, checked in with us multiple times, and made us feel truly at home. She's amazing. There's no drink menu, so you tell your server what you like and don't like. The drinks always come out immaculate and delicious. The bar has a bunch of obscure liquors and syrups that every drink is super unique and unlike anything you've ever had. For food, we ordered the cauliflower, the crab cakes, and the salmon crostinis. All super delicious and made a good snack to accompany our delicious cocktails. Overall, an amazing experience that I would recommend very highly to everyone.

I loved this place! It was truly an experience! The ambiance is so nice. It's dark and intimate and the perfect place for a date night. Make sure to make reservations in advance s this place gets booked out and for good reason! Dana came over to advice us that there is no drinks menu and instead we'd tell her all of our likes and dislikes and create a custom drink based on our answers. That's truly so unique! My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our drinks even though they were completely different!They also have some dishes here to have with your drinks and we decided on burrata & focaccia then the orange coconut sorbet for dessert. We were only able to snag a reservation prior to dinner so we didn't try much. The burrata and focaccia was 5/5 - SOOOO GOOD!!!! The burrata was so creamy and the focaccia was warm, delicate, and light. They even offer to bring out more pieces of focaccia if needed! The orange coconut sorbet was also 5/5 - so delicious and creamy and I was quite surprised that both flavors were easily noticed and balanced each other well. Service 5/5, ambiance 5/5 and food 5/5! I can't really complain except they only allow reservations 6 days in advance!

Needle & Thread is one of the best bar for a thorough speakeasy experience. I went with a friend on a Sunday night. No wait time as we booked a reservation a couple of days prior. It is located inside Tavern Law bar. You pick up a telephone and tell them the name on the reservation, they will unlock the door and a staircase will lead you to a bar upstairs. No menu! Bespoke concept!!! I've been to a bar who had a similar concept in Montréal and usually enjoy this experience thoroughly. The ambience is so perfect, cozy and intimate. Dana - our server was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. She asked all the right questions to understand what we like. Based on notes, we received our cocktails from the bartender - a gin based refreshing but tangy drink that had blackberry liqueur with demerara syrup that was little bit molasses which gave it a dark and rich flavor for the sweetness and and another drink with chateau as a base spirit. It had cloosterbitter for a herbal liqueur that gave a green color and Crème de violette for aromatics with some agave touch. This cocktail had a savory, earthy flavor. The bartender did a phenomenal job of blending together different flavors to craft specialized cocktails. We also tried a chocolate muse dessert. Absolutely LOVED it. The flavors were very rich and delicious. This dessert is off the menu so you have to explicitly ask for it. Highly recommended. I will def visit again.

The barista was PHENOMENAL! She was so bubbly and her personality shined like the stars above. She really tried to make sure she knew our preferences and dislikes.Super attention to detail, and the drinks were pretty strong. Each cocktail is $21 so keep that in mind, but the ambience really set the place apart. I would mention small details and they absolutely incorporated it and I was so surprised! Really cool speakeasy that I will definitely bring more friends too.

No it is not cheap, but if you are going to spend a good chuck of Change on drinks, this is the place. There is no menu so everything is done by giving them a feeling, a description, or what you like. I didn't realize how vague this can be until one of the people asked for a drink based on the description "lost at sea in the mediterainien, with the feel of fresh sea air". The drink even ended up coming in a fish glass which is wild that they even had. The best drink of the night actually ended up being a non-alcoholic drink our friend got. Tones of complexity that lasted well after the first sip. The service is immaculate and they can accommodate pretty much everything. The drinks take a minute, as to be expected, but the staff checks on you frequently. Getting a reservation is the key and difficult to do in a short time period. Most reservations (especially for the weekend) fill up fast so go to their website and get it about a week beforehand. The atmosphere is amazing with great warm lighting while simultaneously being a bit dim and sultuous. It is a wonderful place to go for a special occasion or to really show off to a date.

This has been my favorite haunt when spending an evening in Seattle. I feel like it's changed over the years - I remember more of a dress code and the music used to be more of the speakeasy era (please bring it back!!) - but the drinks are unmatched! Yes, it's pricey, but you're getting an incredible experience and perfectly curated cocktails to your individual taste. Carrie Lynn welcomed us so warmly and really made the experience so enjoyable. Tessa really listened to our preferences and really helped hone in with suggestions on tasting notes. Be adventurous during your consultation! Off the food menu, we highly recommend the salmon crostinis and the vegan cracklings. Our evening there was truly the highlight of the night!Forever my favorite bar in Seattle.

Food: Good selection - you can get anything off of the Tavern Law menu downstairs if you are hungry. We had the mac n cheese and it was great! The drinks are FANTASTIC! I love the bespoke drink creation process and the more you have, the better suited they are because you give more feedback. It's really cool! Would definitely go back because it's a new experience every time. Service: PHENOMENAL. The bartenders are amazing and very fun and interesting people. We sat at the bar and chatted and it was really fun! Very cool people who absolutely nailed the types of drinks I like! Ambiance: Really chill and fun vibe. We chatted off and on with people nearby. The speakeasy entrance is super cool. The decor is pretty and antique-looking so it feels like you're in an actual old time speakeasy. Very nice intimate space for a small group of friends or a date. We will definitely be back!

What a glorious find in downtown Seattle. Hidden underneath the Amazon sphere lies another world of crafted cocktails with delicious a la carte food items that are all set in an old-school meet-new-school vibe! A very nice place to take a date and have intimate conversation all while eating light but tasteful snacks with an endless concoction of cocktails creation!The service, as you may expect, is top notch for an establishment of this setting. Very prompt and accommodating!

I've told everyone about this speakeasy. Such a cool idea and experience. The food is great too. LOVED IT! My drink was spot on as was my friends. Service was top notch as well!

This is such a unique idea for a cocktail lounge. No menu/ just fantastic and innovative bartenders who take the flavors you like and create one of a kind combinations of drinks. You'll never have the same drink twice and you'll always like what you get (if you don't they'll fix it right away!) Dana our server//bartender was such a good vibe! We had three rounds of delicious drinks. We made a reservation and sat in the lower seating area. Great idea for a date night or visit with friends.
