Nawabi Hyderabad House - Biryani Place Nashville

I typically go to Green Chili to satiate my need for Indian food but since I had an offline offer here that was good for a decent amount off i made the short trip to midtown to try it out. On a Thursday evening it was not very busy & there was no wait to be seated. Service was quick & attentive & my wife & I were checked on several times throughout or meal to make sure we were happy with everything. I ordered the tandoori mix grill & it was different than the one i get at Green Chili in that it was way more juicy & tender. Since its a dry dish sometimes i get it & the meat is fairly dry. I liked this dish much better here. Wife got butter chicken & as per usual, there is nothing to complain about when it comes to butter chicken.I wouldnt hesitate to eat here again.

Service was extremely friendly and kind, and this made us excited to try their food. They gave us a few recommendations when we asked, and also let us know we could ask for our desired spice level. We went medium for everything. Overall, there were many dishes that I really enjoyed and thought were excellent, very few that I did not like, but none that blew my mind. This place is great for trying a variety of Indian foods, and I definitely suggest going with a group and sharing.Here's what we tried:-Bhel Puri: 9/10 - A large mound of cold, puffed rice covered in spices and flavorful chutneys with crunchy puri. The texture of the puffed rice and the puri was so crispy and great, and the flavors were really vibrant. Absolutely loved this app.-Chicken Tandoori: 8/10 - This is your standard chicken tandoori. Bright red, flavorful, fairly moist. This one also had a nice char on some of the pieces of chicken, and came steaming hot on an oiled skilled with a bit of onion and cabbage. My only note, as with most chicken tandoori, is I would like for the chicken to be more moist.-Chicken 65: 8.5/10 - SO so flavorful. Chicken 65 is a go-to if you want a burst of intense Indian flavor on a protein. The chicken is very subtly fried, so I would've liked a bit more crisp, but overall this is a very well executed dish.-Masala Dosa: 8/10 - This is MASSIVE. The dosa is so so huge, but only the middle is filled with the spiced potatoes. I loved eating the crispy dosa with some of the sauce from our Malai Kofta (as I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauces the dosa itself came with), and it was almost addictive. The spiced potatoes were good, but compared to other flavor-packed dishes, not the most exciting.-Chili Onion Uthappa: 2/10 - I would definitely make a note not to get this. It tasted solely of just onion, and there was nothing fun or exciting to it. Just a round disk of bread with very little flavor.-Malai Kofta: 8.5/10 - Although the best malai kofta in Nashville remains to be at Bombay palace, this is the CLOSEST we've come to finding one that rivals it. The sauce has a bit of a texture to it, is slightly sweet, smoky, and has such a complex spice and flavor. The vegetable balls were softer than I'm used to, but good, and overall we REALLY enjoyed this dish.

Excellent Indian restaurant. The garlic naan and chicken korma was outstanding. It was an above average experience with excellent service. Its proximity to Vanderbilt's campus was something to appreciate as well. I'd come here again!

This is real delicious desi food. Mango Lassi is refreshing and chicken Biryani is a must!!!!

Variety of southern and northern Indian curries, breads, dosas/uthappas, and biryani. Also some Manchurian dishes. Vegetarian and meat-containing options.Servers are mostly from the Goa region of India and are friendly but there can be a language barrier if you want to ask a ton of questions so if you are unsure this is a good place to ask them to recommend for you.Lunch buffet has soooo many options and is a great way to get a sampling of 7 or 8 flavors

Butter Masala [with chicken] was perfectly seasoned and the requested chicken breast [in the Door Dash app] was tender and palatable. I like when a business allows modifications and changes to your liking. They really paid attention to the spice level as well. In my old age, I'm veering away from too-spicy foods and this one was just right. The dish also came with a fair amount of rice, though it was a stretch to share just one between two people. The Butter Masala was tomatoey, with thick gravy and the chicken breast was cooked in the tandoor oven.There were no hiccups in this order, smooth order through delivery...and fast!Will be returning soon!

A hidden gem for Indian food in Nashville! All the ingredients are so fresh and spices are flavorful. They told us that all their ingredients come fresh from India. For appetizers, I got the Masala Dosa and it was huge! It was so delicious - the thin crepe was perfect with potatoes and sauces on the side to dip. The dosa's are a must try! For entrees, the chicken tikka masala was a burst of flavor and so yummy. The sauce was sooo good. The chicken pieces tasted fresh as well. One of the best tikka masala's I've had in Nashville! Service was fantastic and the team there is so nice. We had Avi as our server and he gave great recommendations and was so attentive to our table. Thank you Avi for a great experience! It was one of our friend's birthday and the team came to sing happy birthday and the pumpkin cheesecake was delicious. They said it was homemade with spices from India.

Nawabi is great! Try it! Our only regret is that we waited so long to order the food and we're leaving Nashville in two weeks.

Great lunch buffet! Large selection it was fresh and service was great as well. I'll definitely return again.
