While the train mechanism was broken yesterday, that didn't stop them from cranking out great food!I did the all you can eat and it was a really good value. The starter, main and sushi was terrific and the service was superb. Though ostensibly a Japanese restaurant, the Chinese music was good though not what I was expecting. I drank ice tea - fresh and free refills, so that was really nice. However, they offer many alternatives. Looking forward my next visit - it won't be so many years apart, for sure!

Not sure why this was rated so high on Apple Maps. Combination of things but summed up1. We were seated and waited over 30 mins for waitress come take our order. 2. Nothing was explained clearly about there are 2 options to either do all you can eat buffet or an actual dinner menu.3. My son who is 10 wanted to do the kids sushi buffet but after 9 years of age they charge ADULT prices ($24.99). 4. My son was so hungry he started eating a few sushi plates. Instead of just charging us for each color, the waitress and another server made a big deal about it in front of my spouse and son. They only spoke in Japanese but it was absolutely embarrassing.5. The sushi was not stocked properly on conveyor belt to keep it fresh so even doing the all you can eat sushi was a waste of our money and time.6. At one point the conveyor belt stopped working and we were holding dishes falling off the belt with sushi on them. Not very organized.7. The sushi made us feel sick and was cheap quality.8. Took an hour get my first drink refill. As a parent I recommend NOT dinning in here. The lack of respect, customer service and poor communication is the main reasons I don't want another person to experience this type of service. No manager came to check in on us, no apologies and my son's birthday experience was awful. He felt bad after eating a few sushi plates even though we told them to put those charges on our bill. He sensed the staff arguing were upset. A child should never leave feeling that way.Never AGAIN! We will support other sushi establishment in the future but need to see good customer service.

I've only been to two sushi trains before and this was the better of the two. There was a LOT of food choices and desserts and it was all you can eat which meant that I could try several things. All were good. Crazy girl was my favorite along with the Chinese donuts. The waitress, Judy, was prompt and very helpful. I couldn't have asked for more in a server. The restaurant is older and in a shopping center area but a stand alone building. No worries there. The tables were set up so that six people could sit around a table easily and have the two closest reach in whenever needed. My bad luck tonight however was four kids who used the open space as a playground and were loud and disruptive to the other diners. Rude. Not Sushi Trains fault, but it very much h tainted my experience.

I love the concept! Truly the best way to do All You Can Eat style sushi out there, I wish it was more present in other areas of the country (especially in my hometown), but I really enjoyed having this experience while I was visiting Nashville. For the uninitiated, conveyor belt style eating is done by pulling small plates off a conveyor belt that is continuously moving throughout the dining room. Patrons usually sit around a circular or oval shaped bar, but sometimes you see the conveyor belt meandering all over the place. They can be covered or uncovered, I really appreciated that the conveyor belt at Sushi Train was covered! Much more sanitary. In non-AYCE situations, your plate color corresponds to a price, the staff simply total up your plates. At sushi train, it appears there is an option to go a la carte, but at 25 bucks, I don't understand why you wouldn't go for the all you can eat option unless you just want a snack. Also, the conveyor belt is massive, centrally located to the restaurant and diving in and out or rows of seats. It's a large place, great layout, and the staff works hard to keep it stocked. As much as I loved the format, I will say that most of the sushi I ate was just OK and there were a couple that I didn't like. I did like that not just rolled sushi was circulating, but also nigiri, appetizers, cold salads, and desserts. Your waitress would also take special requests from you for anything you saw on the menu but not on the belt, included in the price! All in all, even if the sushi itself was pretty average, this place gets a 5 from me for their superior style of service, and a format that allows me to try small portions of a great variety of foods, as opposed to committing to large rolls limiting what I can try. I would definitely come back and bring friends!

I'll have to admit that the reviews made me nervous, but my friend loves Sushi Train so I decided to give it a go on my last trip. I was pleasantly surprised! We went around 8 and were seated right away, though there were a fair amount of people in the restaurant. The lobby and the table/chairs were clean and well kept as well. The sushi on the conveyer is definitely above grocery store quality, but not as nice as you would get from a made to order restaurant. Between four of us we sampled almost every roll and no one regretted their grabs off of the belt! You can also order hibachi, appetizers, and soups off of the all you can eat menu (included in the price) and they were all average but tasty as well. The bathrooms were a bit dirty, so they could definitely work on that. All in all I would go back to Sushi Train! We enjoyed our meal for a very nice price of $24.99 per person, which is a great deal for all you can eat sushi. Pro tip: if you can, ask to sit at one of the tables closer to the beginning of the "train." Not only will you get the freshest sushi, but you'll get first pick of your favorite rolls!

Friendly staff, Run down facilities and infrastructure. Signs were handwritten and stained, old furniture etc. sushi was the poorest quality. Gave me a belly ache. But the train was fun. I thought it would be a good place to try new sushi but their offerings are so poor , the selection offered is not what you would get at a normal high quality sushi place

My partner and I always try to visit conveyor belt sushi places when we can, so we were excited to see there was one in Nashville. And Sushi Train does not disappoint, if you know what these types of places are about.Let's be honest. Just like at a buffet, all-you-can-eat stuff is not going to be extremely high quality. But what's exciting is how many different types of rolls you can try. There were many different options, all labeled so you know what you're getting, and even some other fun stuff that wasn't sushi like seaweed salad and edamame. If you're like me and love eating small portions of a bunch of different things, you'll love this place. The ratio of rice to fish was good. The hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold. Loved the variety and appreciated the price -- $25 for all you can eat. Definitely got a good deal out of it. I ate at least six pieces of salmon nigiri. Thanks Sushi Train for a yummy meal! Will come back when I return to Nashville.

The staff here was very nice. We went for dinner, it was ok but not great. It is not the best quality sushi. The prices for lunch are cheaper, which I think would have been more worth it from a cost/quality viewpoint. But overall would not go back myself.

Our first visit here. There was a lot of variety and the idea is really fun! It reminded me of the floating ducks that you pick up as they go by at the carnival! I got to try several different items that I would not normally try for less than it would cost elsewhere. The food tasted good. The service was great and our server was really sweet! The restaurant looked a little cluttered and rundown. The restroom was tragic. I felt sick all evening, not sure if it was overeating or the food so I'm not going to ding them for that. I probably won't return

So much fun! If you have sushi lovers in your family - this place is for you!Highly recommend going when they first open. The closer you sit to the kitchen, the more variety you'll have. Lunch doesn't include RED plates. So, if you want the full experience, you'll need to be there for dinner. We broke all the rules. Showed up for lunch at 12:30 and literally sat at the last table. But, we still had a ball! They are closed from 3-4:30pm.
