"This place is straight fire!!!! The lady at the hotel recommended we check this place out and I'm glad we did. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and we will definitely be back again. Oh yeah and make sure you get the ribs"
"Finally got a chance to stop by and worth it! Staff is fantastic and Corey was awesome - great service and recommendations! Meats were a good quality and plenty! We ordered Galibi and Bulgogi to grill! Haven't had cheese corn before but's it's delicious and steamed egg with Korean BBQ is always great! All banchans were great but not a fan of their pasta salad...really wish they had a potato salad instead. Salad and lettuce was great BUT if they had radish or rice wraps that would fantastic. Have only send 1 middle TN Korean BBQ place with radish or rice wrappers. Good beverage selection - wish places carried several Korean beer options versus just one. Loved that they have good ventilation and very clean. Would recommend putting something fun on the TV screen. Watching people eating on screen or cooking meat in a kitchen is not really fun to watch while you're eating - you'll understand when you see it. All in all a great experience! Great food, service and atmosphere."
"This place looked pretty grungy but I felt like that was part of the look. It's cafeteria style service. I got the 3 sides - greens, candied yams and greens. I wasn't blown away by the sides. I tried my friends catfish which was really good but other than that, not impressed."
"I think this place has a lot of potential. I love the combination of Caribbean and Soul Food. There isn't much seating, so if you want to go with a group, I suggest making sure that you either drive one car (because there is not much parking) and get there once they open. I look forward to going back!"
"I was unimpressed with this place. On my second trip out to Nashville we decided to grab something to eat on the way to our hotel. My husband wanted southern food cafeteria style and found Swett's on Yelp. Upon arriving I liked that they had lots of choices. I asked for grilled pork chop but the lady ended up giving me fried instead. I got my pork chop with green beans and yams. The pork chop ended up being small and very dry. Like hard-to-swallow-DRY. I had to drink lots of water to not choke. The green beans was my favorite thing I ate. The yams were very greasy. The sweet corn bread I got with my meal was also dry AF. It was a disappointing meal.My husband got their fried chicken with greens and mac n cheese. He also got a berry cobbler on the side. The fried chicken was okay. The greens and mac n cheese were cool. The cobbler was gross. It lacked flavor and wasn't very sweet at all. It had too much thickening agent in it. Since it is cafeteria style there wasn't really any service besides them serving the food at the beginning. I wouldn't say they were friendly either. They just ask what you want and move you along the line. It didn't seem like they wanted to answer any questions. However, Swett's supposedly pride themselves on being around for awhile and having all sorts of "popular" people dine prior. I think its loosing its luster. Or did we come on an off day? Not sure but I don't think we will be returning."
"A small hole in the wall spot, this place really surprised me. I got a fish sando and chicken and it was good, This place imo had the hottest seasoning on their chicken compared to the other well know spots in Nashville. The parking here is easy and a decent amount of seating. The set up here is real simple, counter to order and pick up. They do take card which is nice. The fish sando was crispy and well cooked. The chicken was hott and well spiced."
"Do yourself a favor and go to QC Kitchen if you are downtown. This places offers the best soul food in town. It's a no fluff spot that just has great food. It's located in a small food hall. You can just walk up to the counter and order. Or you can do what I did and order through UberEats and just pick up. While staying at The Joseph nearby I walked my ass over to QC to pickup my pork chop order. Most of the meats comes with two sides. I got their yams and green beans. The two pieces of fried pork chop was amazing. It was perfectly fried and deliciously flavored. The green beans and yams were also really good. I was really happy with my meal and was totally satisfied. The portion was pretty large. I paid a total of $27 for my pork chop with two sides. They also had chicken, salmon, shrimp, turkey leg, and lamb. The inside of this place is very causal. There are some tables and chairs that they share communally with the restaurants next door."
"Don't let the modest exterior fool you, this place serves up the best Korean food in Nashville! They have an extensive menu of all the classics (bibimbap, soft tofu soup, barbecued meats like bulgogi and Galbi, stews for 2, Korean pancakes, you name it). Big portions and authentic taste. Their Banchan is also solid - love their potatoes. Comfy seating with booths and tables, and a back room for overflow seating. Food can sometimes be a little slow to come out if they're busy but it's worth it!"
"Went to support a locally owned business food was hot and fresh. The service was friendly and the ambiance was clean. We were the only ones there then it got busy,"
"I know all the stories, I've been to all of them- Prince's, Bolton's, all the way to the newer ones like Party Fowl. I like them all, the reviews are legit. But believe me when I tell you this is the best of them all. I would be willing to say it's the best fried chicken in all of Nashville. The sides I had,(You can't see the cole slaw and potato salad) were OUTSTANDING and all homemade. I will also say I've never had a better burger, anywhere. I can't recommend this place enough, but BE CAREFUL when ordering spice level. When it says hot, they are not lying! Be conservative because their final 2 levels are BLAZING! Go see these kind folks and you'll see what I mean."

This is (more-or-less) a cafeteria-style restaurant on the grounds of the Hermitage (Andrew Jacksons home) near Nashville, so I'm rating it as such. We found the food good and the prices reasonable. The menu changes daily. We went on a Thursday so BBQ was available. This was good, but IMHO wouldn't compete with the best here in Memphis. My wife got the fried chicken which she declared good. For those lucky/smart enough to visit on Fridays, you get to try their Ox-tail!

I dined at Mad for Galbi on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 7 pm. I had an excellent dining experience here. I've been to many Korean bbq restaurants, most are usually AYCE. But this is probably one of the few non-AYCE Korean bbq restaurants I would return more frequently. The food tasted delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant looked new and clean, which is always a nice first impression when dining for the first time. For appetizers, I had creamy shrimp and seafood pancake. The shrimps were large and fried nicely and coated with just the perfect amount of cream sauce that didn't overwhelm the shrimp. The seafood pancake was probably the best seafood pancake I've tasted. Perfectly crisp and had a generous amount of seafood in it. For entrees, I ordered seafood soondobu and 2 meats for the grill: galbi and pork belly. The seafood tofu soup was also one of the best tasting tofu soups I had. The broth was aromatic and filled with all kinds of seafood. It was a nice comfort dish to eat with rice. The galbi tasted excellent - nicely marinated and I cooked it with a nice char. The pork belly also delivered. I liked the cheese corn and the steamed egg sides. As for the banchan sides, I thought there was a good variety and tasted adequate. Service was excellent. Super attentive and friendly. Our table must have asked to refill the banchan sides multiple times because they were very small portions, but our server delivered. Great service and great food deserves a 5-stars rating.

This place is your average locally owned meat and 3. Nothing extravagant but a good option for a quick lunch or dinner. The cabbage and cornbread cakes are my favorite but all their food is well seasoned. Different days have different side and meat options. They have a variety of homemade pies that will have you feeling like your back at grandmas house. If you visit during the week from 11-1p you'll likely find yourself in a lengthy line with the locals. Parking is free which is rare in Nashville. The location and ambiance lack in appeal but the food more than makes up for that. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap, delicious meal, support this local business and stop by!

I had never visited this restaurant before until I visited today with a co-worker for lunch. I am so glad that I did. It's a small tucked away place. The vegetables are phenomenal! They're so full of flavor. I HIGHLY recommend the collard greens and pinto beans. The service was wonderful. I KNOW I will be going back again.

Solid spot overall, but I think you're better served going to other hot chicken spots whether you're a local or visiting town.I went for the breast plate and had it at the hot spice level. It brought a good amount of heat and had a nice flavor, but the breading to chicken ratio was crazy high. It reminded me of Popeyes, which isn't the worst thing, but not quite what I would expect with the level of hype. The sides tasted solid, though the beans were pretty chilly leading me to believe they'd been out most of the day. I also highly recommend bringing your own water as they don't have there. The spot overall is all about the chicken/fish and doesn't do much by way of ambiance, which I can definitely appreciate, but that won't be everyone's jam

WOW WOW WOW!!! I searched up fried chicken near me and this place came up. I am SO HAPPY I ordered food from here. I ordered online and came to pick up my order and it was SUPER BUSY!!! I saw so many tickets on the counter. Even though it was super busy everyone behind the counter was so nice to me!!! I ordered 2 plates of fried chicken and a plate of Cajun pasta. The fried chicken was seasoned perfectly!!! Not once did I want to add any condiments to it. Perfection!!! QC has some of the best fried chicken I have ever tasted..comparable to Willie Mae's in my opinion. The Cajun pasta was also really good and creamy!!! Each plate comes with 2 sides..I was able to try mac and cheese, loaded mash potatoes, cheese and broccoli , and fries. 10's all around!!! If you are in Nashville make sure to try this place. It is authentic soul food!!! Thank you for having such amazing food and service!!! This place will definitely be on my list if I go to Nashville again!!! They really know how to make good food here.

Super solid Korean in a city that lacks it in general. Very friendly staff and nice bowl of yukaejang (spicy beef soup). Wanted to try a Korean homestyle staple on my first visit. Probably a tiny bit overpriced but that's how things are here. I'll definitely be back though!
Visit Restaurant Page"This is one of the best west Indies-Caribbean places here in Nashville that I've taste so far!! The people are very nice, the place is very clean And they give you nice portions for the price. So make sure you make your way down to Fame-Us Caribbean soul food restaurant, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!!"
"You want to have some soul food served by some awesome folks in local area and not in downtown Nashville? Well, it looks like you need to drive to Jonestown and simply stop by Lil Cee's for some comfort soul food for your own soul. My boyfriend and I rented an apartment unit to stay while we were in Nashville, and we happened to come upon this restaurant. Also, it's advertised in the complex guide book as well. To be honest, the outside and the inside of the place are not that impressive like you'd see at a restaurant in downtown Nashville. It simply is there to serve food for the local people, and the style is basically cafeteria. You tell them what you want for your choice of meat and choices of side dishes. I got meat loaf, collard greens, and sweet potato. My boyfriend got meat loaf, Mac and cheese, cheddar broccoli, and mashed potato. Seriously, the portions are very generous, and they fill up your to-go container. The food is as good as it gets, and your soup will be blessed. Drinks will need to be purchased from the vending machine. I would strongly recommend you to do take-out only for this place. You'd l"
"Something told me to stop here; great choice! Catfish was incredible and the Mac/cheese was real stuff; green beans awesome. It's mostly a to go place but there is a counter snd some stools to sit inside. And it's all prepared for you so you'll wait for it to be cooked (not just warmed in the microwave). I'll definitely stop here again. Good down home food!"
"Five stars! What a great experience! AYCE fried chicken meal at Monell's. You enter the landmark building & are seated with 12 people at a communal table. Fried chicken is the main start of this meal. It comes with sides such as cheddar cheese grits, corn grits, bacon, sausage, potatoes, ham, cinnamon rolls, biscuits & white gravy, pancakes, and more! Meals are served with sweet tea, coffee, unsweetened tea. Take a serving and pass to the left! The servers constantly check to see if the table has enough food! You will get your fill and the dishes never run out! Fun meeting people who live locally, across the nation, and even from Canada. Staff are fast and friendly!"
"Not bad...I always have to try out local soul food joints and the food was pretty good. I got the chicken and dressing with green beans, macaroni and cheese, hot water cornbread and a chicken breast...it was good but I always say the chicken and dressing could use more to it...just a lil dry...there is seating available if needed. The staff is friendly..."
"I've never heard of Silver Sands despite the popularity for decades but after mentioning that I'm a big-time lover of country cooking, my coworker said I should go with him. I finally gave in and told him I'd try it. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner.Silver Sands isn't exactly where I would go for a meal. I guess you could say I'm never really in that part of town and even if I was, I would have overlooked it. It is a hole-in-the-wall and I'm ashamed because I know just as well as any foodie that hole-in-the-wall establishments have some of the best food. They were serving oxtails the day I went and I *LOVE* oxtails. Silver Sands has a wide variety of foods they serve plus daily specials. I came really close to wanting to try the pork chops or fried chicken but the fact that I haven't had oxtails since I went to a Jamaican restaurant in Lavergne made me choose what I came for. I got the mac & cheese (supposedly legendary) and the turnip greens. I was asked when ordering if I wanted a flat(?) or a hot water. I had no clue what she was talking about, so I just said a flat. What it ended up being is this round cornbread-type cake. I don't know why it's called what it's called and I'm quite curious what a "hot water" tastes like.Anyway, the oxtails were AMAZING. You get a small and large oxtail and a large spoonful of the gravy (I think it's more like a stew). I dipped my flat cornbread in it until it was gone and then I ate all of it with a spoon. The oxtail was meaty and rich, and the gravy was the perfect blend of savory and salty. The mac and cheese was creamy and had a nice tang to it (I read while waiting it had Velveeta cheese in it). Say what you will about American cheese, sometimes it's the best cheese in certain dishes. The turnip greens were fantastic, not at all bitter and I didn't even need pepper vinegar (a condiment I usually pair with it).Silver Sands is awesome and I'm sad I haven't been there sooner. It is a bit pricey (oxtails is one of the most expensive) but I want to go back and try their other stuff too."
"Not a bad option.. this place is one of the closest hot chicken place close to hermitage and antioch area.Firdt impression was, hmm did i make the right choice.. but the taste was not bad at all.."
"A perfect place for takeout soul food! While you can eat at the outdoor tables or limited indoor seating, it's best suited for a quick takeaway. The line can get a little long, but the staff is friendly and does their best. The bonus is a lot of food (especially fish) is cooked fresh. There are at least 10 sides to choose from. I enjoyed the dressing, tastes homemade, and the whiting was perfectly seasoned and fried. Numerous desserts and beverages are available also. I would return for a soul food meal."
"We came around lunch time, it took about 20 minutes for our chicken pieces to come out. The chicken was oily but flavorful. The quarter breast was decent size."
"Black owned meat and 3. The food is good and it is definitely that home style type of food. The "punch" and the lemonade are definitely koolaid if that is any indicator. They are a carry out business so call ahead and grab it to go. I don't eat this way regularly so to go to the store to buy and cook this type of home style food is a waste for me and I can't go to my granny's house to get it. I've had the meatloaf, chicken, green beans, collard greens, Mac and cheese, dinner roll (not homemade) and the the cornbread, the strawberry cake, and banana pudding. The only thing I did not like was the Mac and cheese."
"7.30 was my very 1st time here. I had heard about it from acquaintances. I personally don't prefer to cook on Fridays or Saturdays so I decided to give them a try. It was good. I am picky about my soul food being from Memphis. I had the Fried chicken, cabbage and Mac n cheese. I got my husband the ribs, cabbage and Mac and cheese. He was at work so I took him his food and told him to let me know how it was. The plate was gone within 5 minutes of me dropping it off. Will definitely keep them in my food arsenal."
"Walking in was strange, there are no directions or signs once you pull in from Hwy 70/Lebanon Rd and the building you see looks to be only a salon. The restaurant is NOT one of these two doors on the main building. Keep pulling all the way around the back of the lot and Granny's is a separate spot on the backside to the far LEFT. You can't see this from the road or initially when pulling into the parking lot. The walk into the restaurant is also odd, as it's a small walkway between the two buildings to get in.Once we made our way in the folks were super nice, and the food was very good. The only thing I could think the whole time I was eating was: this is what I think of when your family's done with the first round of Thanksgiving dinner and then you head back an hour later for your first plate of leftovers. Yeah, the plate'll be reheated, but at about 4pm when you are hankerin for that second plate do you ever care that you have to throw some stuff in the microwave for a minute? No you do not.I will say, the restaurant needs some MUSIC! The place was dead quiet the whole time we were there, except for our own chewing.Overall, pretty good spot and good eats. We'll likely go back if we're in the mood for a change-of-pace meal here and there."
