I looked up places to grab a quick bite near our Airbnb, all that came up was crappy fast food, and then, Hugh-Baby's. We decided to check this out since it wasn't the typical chain fast food places we have at home in CA.There is a tiny parking lot and we were able to snag a "to-go" spot. Went inside this "food hall" type place that was pretty dead, luckily Hugh-Baby's was open!I wanted a smoked turkey sandwich but they were already out of turkey, so I got a Single Cheeseburger and he got a Bologna Sandwich. We also got an order of fries to share.Went back to the Airbnb and devoured our food. It was delicious! Honestly one of the best fast food burgers I have ever had - is this place fast food? I don't know, no drive through at this location. His bologna was really good, such a thick slice of fried meat with a massive slice of grilled onion, mustard, and pickles. Fries were good. Cheap! About $15 for this above average "fast food" type meal. If I lived in Nashville, I would be here often."

Erik S. "As I've been saying in most of my reviews from my Nashville trip so far, on the whole, I had so many great meals there... but of course, I had to go for some Nashville Hot Chicken, and this place near Vanderbilt's campus came highly recommended. I am happy to say, it was phenomenal!Red's is quite simply a roadside chicken shack. They have a small outdoor covered eating area with counter seating around the edges, everything is served take-out style no matter where you plan to eat it. There is a bar next door that they'll bring your food to, but I didn't explore that, it was a fairly nice day to just eat right out front.I approached the window and my order was promptly taken, no non-sense, no fuss, they're just interested in getting you great chicken made fresh. This IS NOT fast food, and they express that on their sign, but regardless, I waited just 15 minutes for piping hot, made to order, hot chicken. I went with the Hot Chicken Plate with the 3 jumbo tenders, as they were currently out of thighs due to a power outage that spoiled their last supply. That mattered exactly not at all, because the tenders were enormous, juicy, and very filling with a perfect level of spice. I went medium to gauge, and it was just right for me. Flavorful, good heat, not excruciating. The plate came with two sides, I opted for their pimento mac n cheese and cole slaw. The mac was exceptional, really nice sharp cheddar flavor, very creamy. The cole slaw was refreshing and cool, not too mayo heavy, and provided a nice switch to the hot chicken. I also got some great ranch for dipping. It also came with a couple slices of white bread, as is tradition, for mopping up sauce and making little bite size sammies. All told, I could not recommend this place more. I love a place that just cuts to the chase with great food, and Red's is exactly that. I'm sure there is lots of excellent hot chicken available around Nashville, but this should be one of your choices!"

Bobby Y. "C'mon Yelp. The bread is what makes a great Banh Mi, and this bread is really nothing special whatsoever. A Banh Mi baguette should be nicely toasted and buttered, IMO. The ingredients here are good and fresh enough, but the baguette is what is supposed to keep you coming back - too bad InterAsian Market & Deli doesn't seem to have the bread skills to back up what they've got going inside.Disappointing, as this Yelp listing seemed to have the underpinnings and potential for something great. A grocery store with easy access to fresh veggies making sandwiches in the back - sounds like a slow pitch home run derby to me - it should be easy enough, but alas, they just need to execute a little better.Pleasant shopkeepers, clean store with plenty of cooking necessities and a good selection of standard Asian grocery store items. Just far from a great Banh Mi. I got an Original ($6) and a Veggie Tofu ($6) and both were let down by their cold, dense bread rolls. A Banh Mi is all about the baguette, folks."

Cocorico is a small French bakery offering up delicious pastries, croissants, sandwiches, snacks and of course, coffee. Located directly across from the Division Street Loop and the famous Musica statue, Cocorico is a quaint, bright and welcoming spot to grab a cup of coffee and relax, or pick up a pastry and hit the streets of midtown. Service was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and helpful from entry to exit. What was even better than the service? The chocolate croissant. Flaky yet fluffy with just the right amount of chocolate throughout. While the chocolate croissant was all for me, I did get my partner the almond croissant, and it received rave reviews as well! Due to the location, parking may seem daunting, but don't fret as they have you covered up to 90 minutes in the attached garage! Overall, super great find in Midtown! Amanda M. "I love Hattie B's Hot Chicken. I'm not normally a spicy food lover, so I stayed away from Hot Chicken when I first moved to Nashville, being scared and saying it's just not for me. Then a friend had a party and got Hattie B's Hot Chicken on a couple of different varieties and levels of heat. I was hungry and had to break down and try them. Boy, am I glad I did. I couldn't stop eating them. Even tho it was hotter than I typically prefer, I didn't care the flavor and crisp was so flipping good, I fell in love. Now, whenever I get a craving for Hot Chicken I go to Hattie B's! The service is always friendly, but it can be obnoxious how busy they get. You can tell that this spot gets busy quickly -- and we did have to quickly snag an open table. My friend (who had been here before) said the Ham & Cheese Croissant is her absolute favorite, but they run out of them quickly because they're everyone's favorite! Instead, we split the Salami sandwich on baguette, which was wonderful. The crusty bread balanced perfectly with the fatty salami and the creamy, tangy mayo. I also ordered one of their seasonal lattes, which was a nice accompaniment at any time of day. There's parking in front of the restaurant but I parked on the street for ease (free street parking FTW!). Decided to try their seasonal limeade which was blood orange. This drink was incredible! Refreshing and delicious! A true 10/10! I also got the shrimp spring rolls, which were really fresh but didn't wow me. The banh mi though, was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I've had outside of Vietnam. I tried the pork but want to order the steak next time. My other favorites were the sweet potatoes, which come with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Don't skip the chocolate chip cookie, either! I got one to go and it was a damn near perfect cookie. Slightly crispy on the outside, slightly salted. "At the time of this writing, the original McDougal's on Belcourt was recovering from fire damage, the Brentwood McDougal's was still under construction, and the other stores that once extended deep into Williamson County were long closed. So this was the only extant member of the franchise at which I could get my fix of those incredible McDougal's chicken tenders! And it was not disappointing in the least! There is something this Nashville icon does perfectly that nobody else can replicate. It's the batter! Super crispy, but thin and crumbly, you'll watch flakes of beautiful batter drop onto your plate as you sink your teeth into the most tender, juicy chicken you could ever imagine. These are unequivocally the best chicken fingers in the Nashville metropolitan area! The fries are fresh cut daily and delicious, although a little soggy. The multitude of sauces are always freshly made. This is the only location that does not offer free ice cream, but that's okay. The patio they're currently renovating is going to beat all ground-level outdoor spaces in the city!"

If you do brave the dine-in line on a Saturday or a Sunday, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes ... and you may have to quickly stake your claim on a table after ordering. The interior of the restaurant is casual and comforting, with almost a "local diner" feel to it. The outdoor patio is spacious and covered!Of the several sammies I've sampled, the Pastrami and Swiss is my favorite. I also quite liked their Turkey Brie, which is a unique take on the classic. Then followed up with the Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders and Truffled Fries. The Nashville "hot" chicken was flavorful especially the pickles but not that hot (had to add Tabasco) to kick it up. The truffled fries were seasoned well and came with ketchup and mayo served on the side for dipping. Really wanted to like he mayo but there is just something comforting about fries and ketchup. So not a bad dinner for one.Decided that still had room for dessert so ordered a Bonut (Biscuit Donut hybrid) with a cup of coffee. I he Bonut is best described as a deep fried biscuit disguised as a donut hole. Served with berry preserves it is very tasty but heavy. The serving size is theee but I would have been satiated with just one. Eating the other two was just decadent indulgence.Flying in from the west coast it's not really dinner time for me but needed a nice meal with coffee so that I wouldn't fall asleep Still have some work to do.Sitting at the bar and the service was great! Sonya E. "Are you kidding me? Why is this not in the West Coast? We tried three different Hot Chicken spots during our 5 day trip to Nashville. I'm going to rate them in order with BJ's Hot Chicken being the top pick out of the three for me.For starters, this restaurant is clean and relatively new with plenty of seating for several group sizes. Our party of 4 spent the day out and about getting into shenanigans so we definitely worked up an appetite. We arrived during the dinner rush and ordered the following to share:#6 combo which was 6 WINGS + 2 SIDES ($18.99). We chose Mac N Cheese and Potato Salad as the two sides. Let me add the wings were massive! Definitely not the tiny chicken wings you would get from elsewhere.#11 combo which was CATFISH SANDWICH + 1 SIDE + 1 DRINK ($12.99). The side was french fries for this combo.Everything came out still steaming hot from the kitchen. The wings were well seasoned with their secret dry rub, and there was very little batter on the wings (which is how I like it!). I noticed a lot of chicken wing joints have too much breading on their wings making it hard for me to enjoy the true seasoning, spices, and flavors of the recipe. The chicken wings were so moist and juicy in the inside, and every bite was as savory as the next. The sides were fantastic and had its own signature taste complimenting the combos. The spice level to the Hot Chicken wasn't overly spicy for me but it certainly introduced what the kick would feel like -- I'm a fan of this restaurant and would highly recommend to anyone trying Hot Chicken for the first time.Bonus: the staff were very engaging and provided recommendations as we reviewed the menu. The folks working here are genuinely excited that you're there - they greet you when you walk in the door, take your order quickly and kindly (no matter how busy they are), and then wish you well when you're leaving. This is truly some of the best service I've had in Nashville at a grab-and-go restaurant. If you're in the mood for a hot sandwich, I recommend the Chopped Cheese. This is 51st Deli's take on a classic, and they do so memorably. If you've never had a Chopped Cheese before, it's basically a burger in sandwich form without a true patty. That might sound strange, but trust me when I say it's incredible! On our second visit, I decided to try the Turkey Avocado sandwich, which is packed full of flavor and texture. This order solidified my opinion that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu at 51st Deli, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a tasty sandwich to-go!
