"Called in for takeout and restaurant was pretty empty here during dinner. I was surprisingly thought it would be dinner peak time. Order was ready in timely manner. The lady was so nice and friendly. Food prices is reasonably worth it. Got fish tacos had a good sauce savory with it and the fish was perfectly breaded, Mongolian beef, and Beijing noodles my daughter loved their noodles with chicken. It was all good."

Maiz De La vida is a local Mexican food truck that has a wonderful partnership with Chopper in East Nashville. Chopper slings the drinks, Maiz De La vida serves the food! They have a pretty expansive menu for a food truck that includes tacos of all kinds, quesadillas, quesabirria, taco/burrito bowls, churros and even family packs of all the goods. Prices are borderline expensive, but quality, portion size and quickness of service make it all worth it. Given their location with Chopper, seating is indoor or outdoor, and they even track you down and deliver to your table. Service is solid, friendly and fast. From the window to the table, the fellas in the truck were great! The vibe of the truck and vibe of Chopper really mix well. No one would immediately put Tiki and Mexican together, but it is a pairing that works! Overall, great food truck. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!"
"Although their name is Bad Luck, finding this food truck is good luck, and everyone deserves to be part of their burger club. I was grabbing drinks at Honeytree Meadery with a small group of friends on a weeknight, and while we were driving over, we mentioned grabbing some food across the street if we got hungry. Color us surprised and delighted when we realized we didn't have to go any further than the Meadery's front door for a delicious dinner option. There was no line when we placed our orders - although we noticed the truck getting busier later on in the night. The burgers are reasonably priced for the quality you're getting - especially considering they're all double burgers. Our food was ready in less than ten minutes! I also love that they hand out small, blinking pagers so you can return to your seats in the Meadery and then head back over when it's time to pick up your order. I went with the Heckin' Jalapeno, which is packed full of peppers and definitely brings the heat. My husband ordered the Twin Stack burger and raved about it - why mess with the classics? The tots were also tasty, and I recommend ordering an extra side of their Lucky Sauce ... you're going to want it!"
"Search out this wonderful, splendiferous, tantalizing, tasty triumphant food sensation wherever it may wonder. It's like a scavenger hunt with tasty treats at the end! The owner operators couldn't be kinder or more generous with their delicious hand made food or hospitality!"
"I have tried various Mexican food trucks in Nashville, and I would have say I am sort of addicted. Back home in West Virginia we don't have these..so when I first moved here, it was very interesting. My husband doesn't like them...but he is not a Taco Bell person either, but I have to admit, I don't find Taco Bell as appealing as I used too...since I have found the food trucks..I feel the food is more authentic than Taco Bell, so when I want a good taco...I find a food truckNow this one is located behind a gas station on Harding place, and there is always a line. Their English is not that great but thank goodness I can read a little bit. I don't speak Spanish either, so it is fun to try and order....lol !!!I sometimes feel uneasy when visiting these locations, I am usually the only caucasian and I don't speak spanish..but we get the job done. This food at this truck was good, but NOT amazing..and not really cheap...I would stop here again, if I was in the area, and my favorite place was closed or too busy...but I wouldn't seek this truck out.Now again this is my opinion and I am not trying to get peeps not to go there, just being truthful about me and what I experienced."
"My typical authentic taco truck jaunt is Nolensville Road, but I was majorly craving tacos and found this food truck on 8th Avenue and decided to give them a shot since it is close by. I came during lunch and it is located in a small Shell parking lot close to the Melrose Kroger. I was able to get a spot in front of the gas station, but parking was more and more busy the longer I was there. I can definitely see parking being a problem, so keep that in mind. I ordered 2 pastor,1 carnitas, and 1 lengua taco. I had no language barriers ordering, and received a number for my order which I've never had before and felt was a nice touch. I think I waited longer than usual for my tacos, but they were pretty busy and taking orders over the phone in addition to walk ups, so it was a reasonable wait for their popularity. I was able to choose my sauces, and they have the typical red sauce and the creamy jalapeno (which is my favorite). Unfortunately the ramekins were small, but I didn't get any push back when I asked for extra. The lengua and pastor tacos were my favorite; I wouldn't recommend the carnitas but overall I was very pleased! They also came with plenty of raw and grilled onions and the sauces were very good as well. I left with 4 tacos that were right under $6 which is still a steal and they were better than most of the upscale taco joints in town. I would highly recommend giving this taco truck a shot and see myself coming here a lot more often!"
"I just ate the best chicken enchiladas of my LIFE. So delicious, so affordable, so worth giving it a try. Just order it!!!"
"Absolutely delicious, drove all the way from Memphis an was told about this place from my friend. She said she loved the tacos. So I'm more of a burrito person myself. An let me say it was full the portions of the steak was juicy and seasoned. I definitely recommend an for every review u get a discount??! Can't beat the prices either"

Visit #2 and this time we tried the Southwest egg rolls appetizer, tacos and the shrimp fried rice. Some of the best fried rice I've had and again service was excellent.

Gotta love a super bomb food truck parked outside of a super bomb bar!I only got to try the flautas, since we were heading to dinner shortly after leaving the bar, but I hope to one day return to the Maíz De La Vida food truck to taste each and every item on the menu! The quality and flavors of the flautas lead me to believe that everything on the menu is probably phenomenal.

Best smashburger in Nashville and now they have a permanent location! It's a 2-4-1, you get burgers and a drink from Honeytree Meadery! You seriously can't beat it, especially the loveliness of the Meadery decor while you're chowing down on magic between two buns. Also, the BLBC Boyz are top notch. Can't beat their service, attitude, and love for their food. It's so wonderful to have them on the East side full-time!

Just tried Grace's for the first time - it was amazing! Had shrimp and pork lumpia, pancit, and a taste of her pork adobo. All were absolutely wonderful, the lumpia light and crispy, the pancit with a hint of that smoky flavor you miss, and the adobo melt in your mouth tasty. This is easily the best filipino food I've had outside the country itself. This is wonderful, restaurant-quality food coming out of a food truck. If you like filipino food, or you haven't tried it, this is the place to go. Good luck, Grace! Cookeville is lucky to have you!

Located behind Shell gas station. This food truck provides the best Mexican food in greater Nashville area. When I moved here from soCal 3 years ago, I constantly craved quality Mexican food that was plentiful back home. My two Mexican classmates (one from East LA and other from Fullerton) and I spent so much time and money looking for decent Mexican food in Nashville. After 6-8 months, we gave up on actual restaurant establishments throughout Nashville. They all catered to non-Hispanic clientele, substituted quality by slabbing beans and/or cheese, or were regularly devoid of customers overall (for good reason). Instead, the three of us tried EVERY Mexican food truck that we came across over the last three years. We were very religious about this. If one of us spot a Mexican food truck, we'd take note of the intersection and made sure we'd try it before the end of the week. I've eaten well over a dozen or two Mexican food trucks in Nashville over the years. One truck(s) came out consistently on top: Taqueria Express. I have two soCal Mexican friends to back that up (one of them surprisingly cooks very well).Even if several of these trucks populate the same block or two on Harding, Taqueria Express always had considerably more Hispanic customers. Even while waiting for my order, at least two or three cars would drive up, park, and place orders. This does not happen at other Mexican food trucks and I don't blame them: they're not as good as Taqueria Express.I'll be honest in stating that I've been disappointed by the rave reviews that a number of Mexican restaurant establishments have received on Yelp. That's why when it comes to ethnic foods in Nashville, I trust the crowding of ethnic customers more so than high scores on Yelp (ie Seoul Garden). Taqueria Express is another great example.Don't get me wrong, a few other Mexican food trucks will provide an item or two that will top Taqueria Express. Some tacos will be better found elsewhere, depending on your personal preference on the ratio and balance of various ingredients. But as a whole, the meats are more flavorful, more juicy, and remind me of the food I've eaten within 1 hour from the Mexican border. My personal favorite meats at Taqueria Express, in this exact order: 1 pollo (chicken), 2 pastor (spicy pork), and 3 beef (carne asada). I personally like the quesadillas, mulitas, sopes, and burritos. This is where my confusion lies. There are a small number of food trucks in Nashville called "Taqueria Express". With my limited Spanish (and their limited English), the employees have stated that these "Taqueria Express" trucks are from the same company. I'm not sure if they're all owned by one person who licenses out these trucks, if they're distributed as a franchise, or are jointly operated by the Mexican Mafia. If you look at the city licenses taped on each of these trucks, they're all registered with a slightly different name, address, or person. Yet the menu items are identical, the menu pictures are identical, the prices are similar, and if you ask the people who work there, they say they share the same recipes and ownership.I've asked each truck how many trucks are under the "Taqueria Express" company (my classmates have asked them in Spanish as well). Each truck has given a different number, whether it's 5, 6, 7, or 8, all in the greater Nashville area. My classmates and I have located, pinpointed, and eaten at exactly four of these Taqueria Express trucks. We have searched high and low for the remaining 1, 2, 3, or 4 trucks (your guess is good as mine). I'll post reviews of the three remaining Taqueria Express trucks (that I've found) on Yelp as well... I hope the Yelp gods and goddesses don't mind me copying and pasting since their food items are almost identical. ;-)I'm so happy to post this review--now I can finally check-in at Taqueria Express several times per week. I love the chicken quesadilla. Be warned though: a number of the non-English speaking customers will hand you their odd business cards for who knows what. I've collected a stack of business cards from other Mexican customers over the last 3 years. I have no idea what these businesses do. I don't speak enough Spanish and they don't speak enough English to explain to me what that's all about.

The menu is not huge, but the flavors here more than make up for a smaller menu. I decided to try the appetizer 2-Cheeze Steak Egg Rolls...OMG these are exceptional. Honestly they are a meal in themselves and dipping them in the sauce provided is awesome. I opted for the Original Philly Cheeze Steak on a wonderful Amoroso Roll. You can modify the cheese along with the additional ingredients/toppings if you like and I went with the Original and added mushrooms. The sandwich was stuffed, the steak tender and flavorful, and while the Cheeze Wiz was a good option it's a bit salty for me and I go with Provolone next time. Overall this is a solid Philly Cheesesteak and well worth the drive to the East side of Nashville. https://itzaphillything.com/"
"Great food. The Bandeja Paisa was very good and plentiful. The chicharron could use a little more crisp but was very good. The ambiance and decor is inviting. Great service and value."
"A friend took me here, tried the falafel appetizer and a gyro plate without rice (aka salad with gyro on top). Short menu which is usually a good sign. Falafel was perfectly fried outside, good flavors, served with tahini sauce. Gyro wasn't sliced gyro but chunk of gyro, and the outside was slightly crispy. Salad, tomatoes, cucumbers all fresh, good sauces on top. Their hot sauce is awesome, actually spicy but with flavor at the same time. I really enjoyed it! Prices are a bit high for the amount of food, and also there were mosquitoes in their outdoor eating area which I didn't appreciate at all. Otherwise, good food!"
"A fantastic twist on traditional ice cream. Coupled with a friendly staff added to the best experience we could ask for at our fall fest. "
"I only tried one taco here, so my review is not a complete picture of this taco truck by any means. I visited during Tomato Fest, and had dinner elsewhere before checking this spot out. Given the fantastic reviews, the small menu, and the adorable truck, I just had to try something from the taco truck. I went with the sweet potato taco, and tried their chipotle salsa on the side. The taco was really tasty, although incredibly pricey- $7 is a lot for just one taco. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I don't think I would pay the $7 for another one of the sweet potato tacos. I would, however, try a different taco or a quesadilla next time. The salsa was delicious and I would recommend trying it- not too spicy, but packed with that smoky chipotle flavor."
"I had a chance to experience this wonderful food truck service while at the local 4th HOA celebration event. Their burgers and Philly steak sandwiches are outright some of the best I have had. The burger was double patty and it wasn't a thin lifeless burger patty but a thick, juicy and well spiced burger. It was topped with melted cheese and jalapeños... delicious. The Philly steak sandwich was perfectly spiced, tangy and gooey cheese and steak. Wow. The kids enjoyed their chicken fingers and kids burgers, as well as the fries. These folks know how to cook. Definitely worth bringing to your next party."
"One of my favorite food trucks! They do tots, and their specialty which are mashed potatoes that have been fried into a "tatercake". They then top these with different combinations. I got the Qutie which is pulled pork, barbecue sauce, cole slaw and baked beans. The meal is also pretty filling which is great because you can feel good that your $10 is spent well. The staff are also really nice and even when the line is long they get the food out quick or in a very reasonable time. So delicious!"
"This is a taco food truck-based restaurant with indoor seating, though we opted for to-go. I got 6 tacos: asada, pastor, chicharron, beef tongue, barbacoa, and carnitas. What's nice is that similar to some taco stands, they give a lot of fixings like jalapeño pepper, grilled green onions, and radish, along with lime, onion, and cilantro, as well as avocado sauce. Tacos themselves are just average with an acceptable amount of meat, decently priced at $1.75 per taco. The issue I had was that the tortillas were soggy, so oil from the al pastor taco seeps through the entire dish."
"After a busy morning of checking out cars at the Nashville Cars and Coffee event, my girlfriend and I stopped at this food truck for some cheap street tacos. She ordered the carnitas and pollo tacos. I order the barbacoa and lengua tacos. I really enjoyed mine and she said hers were very good too. The tacos were flavorful and not dry. Like Sheena and other yelpers have said... these are no longer a dollar each. Most were $1.25 and the lengua was $1.75. Overall, 4 tacos for under $6, I'm good with that."
"I've been seeing this place for the last few months, I guess its moved on from Spring Hill and now parked in Lewisburg on the Nashville Hwy, not that anybody would be craving this enough to go searching for them.Nice setup where they're parked with astroturf and tables/umbrellas connecting the gyro and expresso trucks. Confusing menu, looks like they've cut back on what they were originally offering. I opted for a chicken platter mainly because I didn't see any other options that made sense. The chicken was dry, didn't detect any marinade, and my plate was loaded with rice and some kind of salad I didn't find very edible. Also brought home some Baclava... do NOT make this mistake, they were terrible. Ever see that cinnamon challenge on Youtube where you have to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon without dying? Well thats what eating these rolled up baclava fritters is like. I'm leaving an extra star up there because at least this place is different, would like to see an expanded menu though, maybe some pan fried cobra or something."
"Tried this place today. I tried the jumpback jack burger with fries. Very tasty and served steamy hot. Very good fresh cut fries. I also tried a starter bite - jambalaya, small serving. Very tasty, especially the sausage in it. Slight bit of spicy in the taste but good. Really good sweet tea to wash it all down. Also had the kiddie cheese burger, just plain meat & cheese with fries. My 9yr old loved it."
"I have stopped by the taco truck twice. It's a good option. I have ordered the supreme tacos and PizzaBirria. Both were decent. Not the best taco truck I've been to, but no complaints either. They seemed friendly taking my order and pricing seems fair."
"So last minute, we decided to have a Mexican themed get together. Nothing crazy, 6 people... but buying and preparing food, drinks and appetizers in 90 minutes? Not going to happen. I found this place, $1 for a taco? I'm in!!! So I do have to say, it's for sure not the best life taco I've ever had, but it is for sure the best price versus quality taco. Don't get me wrong, SUPER delicious. Like really, really good. But yeah, the tiny $3.50 "craft" tacos, it's not that. They're simple, choose your meat... we ate pork, spicy pork, barbecue, steak, and chicken. I'm honestly not sure which was which, but I do know whatever they were, I wanted to eat them all. They came with onion and cilantro on top, 2 choices of sauce on the side, a spicy carrot, pepper, and sautéed onion. The location I'm not familiar with, I had to use GPS. The only downside is the location is in a tiny, tiny parking lot. Rewind, it's a food truck in a tiny parking lot, and this place was super packed. So the only problem was, I did get stuck in the spot for a few moments, but the guy in line walked to his car and moved it to let me get out. Awesome. I'll be back for sure!"
"This is exactly what you want out of a food truck. Good prices, crave-able handheld food options, and good service. We stumbled on this truck outside Pins Mechanical and it was a happy find! We had chicken and cheesy beef empanadas, and it took about 15 minutes to finish. If they were busy it might be good to add some kind of "come back" notification but coming back in about 15 minutes worked just fine at Pins because I could go play another game. The food was handheld friendly, very tasty, and a good portion for the price. This is a quality food truck and I wish them success!"
"This food truck is awesome and selfishly I feel like they need a second location here in Mount Juliet! I went with a shredded beef arepa, and four empanadas; plain cheese, black bean, pork and a chicken aempanada. The arepa was delish and loaded with beef, cheese, and black beans. This was a Latin comfort food flavor explosion. My only very small complaint was the amount of grease that was on this sandwich. Maybe it was from the cheese? Ok, all of the empanadas were amazing, literally not a bad one in the bunch. Crunchy, huge and fully loaded with meat or cheeses. My favorite, surprisingly was the black bean and cheese empanada. After shopping at the Farmers' Market or strolling through Bicentennial Park, hit up Caracasville food truck for some delicious Venezuela eats!"
"Definitely trying this again when I get the chance. I got the California burrito. It wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but that was my taste preference. I had many people around me (at a firework event) say they loved it. Next time, I will try the tacos or the other burrito. It all looked amazing and the staff was friendly and clean."
"Stopped by Mayday Brewery today with a buddy and tried the Buffalo Chicken dip and the Pimento Cheese Hot Dog while we were there, from Mrs Grissom's Panni Grill food truck. The hot dog was great and the buffalo Chicken dip was pretty good too. Could have eaten at least two dogs though because they were kinda small. I know now for next time.It was a great little reset paired with the beers that we tried. I really enjoyed the Deven's Devil Oatmeal Stout. It was very yummy."
"Wow this is one amazing food truck. Great variety of food including healthy options, friendly staff, very fair prices for the quality and serving size and really one of the best "subs" I have enjoyed. Great lunch and hope to enjoy this food truck again."
"Omg this food truck is amazing. I ordered the Carolina Style Pulled Pork with Mac and cheese and collards. The bbq is kind of sweet, with a molasses style base. It's a sweet barbecue and not too much vinegar. The Mac and cheese is a shell style mac. It was creamy and really good. The collards were also on point. I usually ask for vinegar but these didn't need any extra. The cornbread was sweet as well and not crumbly at all. Totally a winner here. Great food truck."
"Perfection on tenderness and the breading for this hot chicken. The medium heat had good spice and allowed for flavor enjoyment! Nice sized tenders and overall hot spot!"
