"Walked in and waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone came out of the back to ask us what we wanted. When someone finally came out, you order at the register in the front. Service was very slow and we had to ask for several items that never came out (like the water for the kids, our side of fries, the ranch on my dish and the bread pudding that I ordered). The portions were very small for "soul food" but it was pretty good. The bread pudding was very bland and was drenched in some sort of oil or melted "butter". Overall, I think it was good but I wouldn't be back next time I'm in town. Nice to try once though."
"My husband brought me here for my 41st birthday. It was such a luxurious experience from start to finish! Our host Ron was gracious and professional and answered all of our questions about the dishes. The wine list was extensive -- I ordered a Reisling which really had the right balance of sweet and crisp flavors. There were plenty of vegetarian options. The appetizers were lovely, especially the roasted artichokes. The spinach ravioli in brown butter sauce was divine and great for dipping bread. My husband loved the eggplant Parmesan. All the pasta is made in-house and is so fresh. They also provided a complimentary tiramisu as a birthday dessert. Ambiance was lovely and they even have a separate event space upstairs. We have not had Italian food this good since we lived in Boston and dined in the North End!"
"We happened to be having dinner nearby and decided to check out this bakery afterwards. We felt a little lost when we walked in because we didn't observe any signs labeling the different varieties of bread. However, an employee quickly walked up to us and let us know that the trays and tongs were by the door, and identified a few of the breads that looked interesting to us. Since it was our first time here, I was hesitant and choose two items--a pineapple bread and a cherry bread. The purchase was less than $2. Something like $1.80, which seemed really inexpensive because the two items were pretty hefty in size.Took them back to our hotel and split them in half. OMG...they were so good. I was tempted to eat the other half but decided to be nice and share them with my husband who thought they were good too.For the next two days, I kept thinking about this bakery and ways I could convince my husband to take me back there. However, my conscience for trying not to eat too many sweets and carbs got the better of me and we didn't have a chance to go back. But in the future, if we're ever in the area again, I can't wait to go back to this bakery and try more of their items. So delicious! Glad it's not close to where I live otherwise I'd be in trouble!"
"I was unimpressed with this place. On my second trip out to Nashville we decided to grab something to eat on the way to our hotel. My husband wanted southern food cafeteria style and found Swett's on Yelp. Upon arriving I liked that they had lots of choices. I asked for grilled pork chop but the lady ended up giving me fried instead. I got my pork chop with green beans and yams. The pork chop ended up being small and very dry. Like hard-to-swallow-DRY. I had to drink lots of water to not choke. The green beans was my favorite thing I ate. The yams were very greasy. The sweet corn bread I got with my meal was also dry AF. It was a disappointing meal.My husband got their fried chicken with greens and mac n cheese. He also got a berry cobbler on the side. The fried chicken was okay. The greens and mac n cheese were cool. The cobbler was gross. It lacked flavor and wasn't very sweet at all. It had too much thickening agent in it. Since it is cafeteria style there wasn't really any service besides them serving the food at the beginning. I wouldn't say they were friendly either. They just ask what you want and move you along the line. It didn't seem like they wanted to answer any questions. However, Swett's supposedly pride themselves on being around for awhile and having all sorts of "popular" people dine prior. I think its loosing its luster. Or did we come on an off day? Not sure but I don't think we will be returning."
"WOW this pizza is excellent! The inside is so cute too, branding is really on point! The service was great too, everyone was friendly. We got a pizza that was Half Forager Pizza and half New Haven Red.The Forager was incredible! I don't like sweet good at all, and the fig on top really wasn't super sweet. It went perfectly with the white sauce, smoked provolone, fresh arugula and veggies. Literally SO good! The New Haven- this was very peppery and not what I expected! But it was really really good. The Gorgonzilla- very sweet. It was flavorful and worth the try, but depends on whether or not you like a sweet tasting pizza. I also love that this location offer slices of pizza for $6. We're talking about a Costco sized slice if you know what I mean! There is also a fridge full of beers, sours, etc if you are wanting alcohol. Also the undercarriage was perfect. I was so surprised and can't wait to go back. Overall, this is the best pizza I've had in Nashville so far."
"If Johnny Rockets, a New Jersey Diner and a 90's Applebee's had a love child...Dalts American Grill would be it. Dalts is located on White Bridge Road near the Target and directly in front of the Trader Joe's. For the most part it is your all American diner with an expansive menu featuring diner classics such as burgers, chicken tenders, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings and salads combined with omelets, tacos, pizza and seafood plus desserts of course! The weirdest part of the menu and the mark of a true diner is the "Steak, Ribs & Omelet" section...because you know you always trying to decide between a NY Strip, rack of ribs or veggie omelet! For our meal I went with a diner classic, Patty Melt sided with hashbrown casserole and my partner went the club with fries. The Patty Melt was cooked to temp and overall was a solid burger. I chose white bread in lieu of the rye, personal preference, and the Texas toast held up well. It was the opposite story on the other end of the table as the club was not as successful and the fries were just terrible. The bread for the club was chewy and the filling of the sandwich kept falling out. It was not a well constructed sandwich unfortunately. Before I move on from the food, you do get complimentary biscuits/rolls upon being sat. When you visit a diner, you expect lots of shiny metals, gaudy furnishings, eccentric lighting and artwork...and Dalts has it all. The vibe is "old", but kind of a dated-old as the booths, tables, flooring, ceilings, etc...are quite run down. As I continue to describe Dalts, I struggle a tad as it really is a mix of vibes from the bar that looks like it belongs in a seedy local dive bar, to the large wooden banisters in the dining room combined with the open-air kitchen behind the stainless bar to the standard seating private dining room. Service was decent. There were a lot of servers and staff on during our visit, but service was still decently slow. She was friendly and accurate, and we were not in a rush, so all was well on that end. Overall, we are glad we experienced Dalts given it's place in the local scene. While I do not believe we will go out of our way to dine at Dalts, I can see this as a place my parents would enjoy, so I will be happy to bring them by during visits."
"We had dinner here last night, spurred by the glowing reviews we'd seen. The service was excellent, and the dimmed decor created a wonderful ambiance. The hostess was very helpful, guiding us on where to park since the lot was packed. We loved it here--the dishes were well-portioned and unique. The only thing we felt was missing was perhaps a bit of salt and pepper, but it was perfectly fine without it.Regarding Yelp, I recently had my Elite status removed after 10 years because I'm a business owner. Despite not being related or affiliated with any food businesses--only a local real estate office in NY--Yelp managers believe a business owner shouldn't be an Elite reviewer. In my opinion, being a business owner shouldn't disqualify someone from providing honest and fair reviews of unrelated businesses. My reviews are meant to be helpful and honest, and I believe that shouldn't affect my Elite status."
"Ask anyone where to get an authentic home cooked southern meal in Nashville, and they'll send you to Arnold's. This local gem practically invented the "Meat & 3", a cafeteria style service where you choose a meat and three sides. Options change daily at Arnold's, but generally include fare like candied yams, fried catfish, chicken and dumplings, etc. Upon arrival, grab a tray, and get in line. Staff of varying degrees of surliness will scoop your selections onto styrofoam plates, and a cashier will ring you up at the end. Choose your own cutlery, and find a seat. The restaurant is spacious, with a homey, no frills vibe. All of the food was delicious. Richly seasoned but not overly salty, deep fried but somehow not too heavy or oily. The shrimp were juicy, the mac and cheese creamy with a lovely gouda flavor, the greens were deeply savory. My favorite side dish was the Fried Green Tomatoes, which were lightly breaded, juicy, and tangy. Skip the cornbread, which was bone dry, but do NOT skip dessert. The Spicy Chocolate Pie was among the best pies I've ever had. It tasted of semisweet chocolate ganache, with a wonderfully bright heat from what I presume to be cayenne pepper. Apparently Arnold's has plans to close soon after 42 years of business, so eat here while you can."

The menu looks amazing and they have house-made seitan. There's everything from soul food to salads on the menu, but you're not overloaded with choices. Oh my goodness, they have a ton of desserts, so your sweet tooth cravings are a match here.It seems quiet although their shared parking situation can get hectic. The restrooms weren't available while I was there, but they have them. The staff are pleasant and informative. You can't rush goodness, so order ahead if you're short on time. If you choose to dine in or wait on-site, try the ginger beer. I think I had lemonade because there was no fizz, but it was not slacking on gingerThe seating is intimate & the decor is refreshing & fun. Have a little lunch meeting, date night, or social meetup here. Eat to live and actually enjoy at this second location. They have another location in Nashville on Fisk. Hope you enjoy!

What an amazing place! The service from our waiter Oliver was amazing, the food was delicious & the atmosphere was romantic. We started out with wine & appetizers, the calamari was great along with the mozzarella & tomato app.I ordered the Eggplant parmigiana, my husband had the veal special, and our friends ordered the lasagna... all of the dishes were fantastic! Will visit again.

It was a last minute decision to satisfy a sweet tooth and it was the best decision to go on this night as the Bakery was hosting their 7th anniversary celebration. I got some pastry items and even a savory chicken pastry and went to check on the festivities which the kids and adults were participating in.PS - The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

I can get a burger or tacos here.. we'll or peach cobbler and pot roast. How can you goWrong with such a variety. MyHamburger club was around $13 and that's with a pile of fries. I also scarfed down a key lime piece of pie-
Visit Restaurant Page"This place is a treasure. Great friendly staff and the food is simply amazing. They have daily specials and their chef could be at a multi-starred establishment downtown.Great bar area, open and airy with really a neat atmosphere all around. The burger I had was top notch fresh beef cooked perfectly with a mound of fries I could not finish --- did I mention it was $6.95 on a Tuesday special? They have sandwiches, seafood, steaks and a nice assortment of tap brews along with a full bar. It's the people though that really make this place my new fave. So glad we recently moved to 12 Stones. This place is a real "hidden" gem. As a matter of fact..... never mind, don't come here as I want to keep this place to myself! But seriously you will not regret coming here with any type of party. It may be on a golf course but it's WELL above a clubhouse-type eatery."
"Absolute delight find. I didn't expect this place to have sushi and have been to two others around the area in search of finding a great neighborhood sushi spot; the others were let downs, so search continued, and this place was on the list. Learned my lesson from the last ones to check the menu out, which had some variety. Not all California rolls with other toppings. Sooo much better than the other places I've tried in the area, and I will be a regular. Super fresh. Great cuts and presentation, super friendly staff. The sushi chef seems to truly like his craft & hospitality. They can only serve beer on the adult beverages which is a bummer but everything else here is really great sushi and service wise."
"My husband and I just stumbled across this place by pure luck. It's off Harding Place and Nolensville Rd in Antioch. I had the hummus plate with falafel and tabooli (it also came with a side of pita). My husband had the chicken mendi. The owners came by and talked to us; such a nice family. They told us about their culture and how the food is prepared. Fascinating! They asked us if we wanted dessert and said they were trying out a new recipe called pistachio cheesecake. Of course we had to try it! I just sat and shook my head in disbelief with every bite. So. So. Good. The place is extremely clean and I love the traditional booths that are closed in and intimate.I told the owner that I would put this place up against any restaurant in NYC. And if I were Paul Hollywood, he'd be getting a handshake. Restaurant experiences like this is why I still love leaving Yelp reviews!"
"I went in last week and picked up a hallelujah cake. While checking out I saw in the cooler that they had an apple cake, so I decided to try a small one. Big mistake, it was absolutely delicious. So I guess from here on out I will be forced to pick up two cakes every time.Keep up the great work."
"What an awesome coffee shop find!I haven't worked out of the house in quite a while, and with the weather warming up and the sun finally out, I decided to get out and stretch my work from home legs. Momento specialty coffee is right down the road from me and this is truly a diamond in the rough. The rough part being that Momento is wedged between a muffler shop and a vacant building, but the coffee, the breakfast rolls, and the service here is spot on. What's a breakfast roll you ask? It's basically a breakfast burrito and it's massive. Wrapped in a spinach tortilla. This breakfast roll is filled with egg, cheese, peppers, bacon, sausage, and cheese! Paired with my coffee, this was truly the breakfast of champions. If you're looking to get your coffee on the go, this place also has a drive-thru window. Momento offers plenty of parking and cozy places to sit as well.I will definitely be back to enjoy one of their sweet breakfast treats in their deli case."
"Just okay. The place wasn't very busy and it took longer than expected for food to arrive. With a limited family style meal, I would have expected more preparation. We enjoyed the fried okra, fried chicken, biscuits, and the meatloaf. However the dumplings were not good, the collard greens were really salty. We had a vegetarian friend with us and even the vegetable sides had bacon. It's too bad they don't allow boxes even if you didn't request seconds. There was so much food that went to waste."
"Loved that they had so many healthy options to eat. This is usually hard to find on a business trip. Came here for lunch in a Monday. Got the big eye tuna poke bowl but substituted salad greens for the sushi rice. It was the perfect light lunch. Came here for breakfast on a Tuesaday and the place was more bustling. I got the liver lover juice and the parfait. The juice was bottled. But still very good. The parfait was delicious and a good portion. The granola sat atop the yogurt and lots of fruit. The highlight was the brûlée pineapple. All pineapple should be this way! The Lounge- I got the "cheaper than a shrink" cocktail and it was very good. The lounge is lively at night."
"How on earth can food be this good?!Well, all the reviews I read beforehand were stellar, so I didn't have a choice but to check this place out for dinner. Turns out y'all were right - this place is amazing! Inside is super clean, the servers were so friendly and helpful and kept checking in, and the food was just phenomenal! I was told my food would take about twenty minutes, but everything came out in maybe five.I really enjoyed the Chilli Gobi (low spice); the texture is like, chewy? But really good. For my main, I got the Mushroom Chettinad (mild), which is probably the greatest curry I've ever had in my life!! Incredible. And with Garlic Naan? Yessssss, please. Best Indian restaurant I've been to. I was proud of myself for taking home some leftovers, but this barely made it to breakfast. Still amazing day 2."
"12/17/23: Cute, welcoming neighborhood spot. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food is delicious so that I ate it all and forgot to take a pic. One of the few times the camera didn't eat first. Had the shrimp enchiladas. Nice size portions and reasonable priced.Drinks yummy and strong. Definitely a spot will return when back in Nashville. Thanks to multiple visits earned my mexi-can badge."
"Food here is a little different from traditional Mexican places. EX: Their Chili Rellenos are not deep fried, but the way they do them is pretty good. The cheese is an open faced relleno with red sauce and cheese oven fried. I also tried it with chicken and cheese, where they prepared it with melted cheese dip over a grilled relleno stuffed with diced chicken. Both actually really good, but I was surprised the first time I ordered it in expecting a deep friend rellano. Their "skinny" marg is still pretty sweet so not sure how skinny it is, but it is good. They have some of the best salsa I have ever had. Service is general quick and food always tastes fresh."
"The location of this restaurant is fantastic if you are going to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Symphony or the Bridgestone. Elevated. Just elegant enough. Great bar. Varied menu. Complimentary Valet too!I adore the soaring windows. So effective. I highly recommend the crab cakes. Mostly crab with hardly any filler. Just right. The sushi menu is inventive and delicious. The fish tacos have just the right amount of blackened heat. And if you love shoestring French fries, like me, this IS the place to get them."
"Yum! Solid spot. Great BBQ and friendly service. Very casual and no nonsense but everyone inside was friendly and it was spotless and well-maintained inside. We stopped in about 25 minutes before close so they were sold out of ribs for the day and nearly out of brisket so my husband snagged the last platter of Brisket while I got a pulled pork sandwich served with Cole slaw on it and pickled red onion and pickles on the side. My side was Texas baked beans. They were good but a bit spicy! I added the jalapeño cornbread for $1 and it was fresh, moist and well worth the addition! My pulled pork was delicious. A huge portion on the sandwich and very moist and flavorful. It's dry and you add your sauce from the table. Their sweet tea was SO good. I had like 3 cups of it. Tasted just like my grandma's!"
"Something told me to stop here; great choice! Catfish was incredible and the Mac/cheese was real stuff; green beans awesome. It's mostly a to go place but there is a counter snd some stools to sit inside. And it's all prepared for you so you'll wait for it to be cooked (not just warmed in the microwave). I'll definitely stop here again. Good down home food!"
"I really liked a lot of things about Burger Up. The venue itself, the staff are great, and the menu -- so many options and choices. Love, actually. The housemade ketchup went excellent with my sweet potato truffle fries. I tried the sliders, because it was not plain, you could choose any two of the delicious sounding burgers. Therefore, I went with the Woodstock and the Jalapeno, but honestly, they all sounded good. For sliders, they were just good not great. The buns were a little dense (not soft), and the burger dry. Maybe the full burger would be better.I'd definitely be up for trying more on the menu, it's a great hang, too."
"4.5The Nations -- who saw that coming, right? When I decided to make the trek out west to check out a new* pizza spot, I had to take the time to gawk and grouse. Gawk at the amount of construction and new builds in the neighborhood. I didn't have that on my bingo card ten years ago. Grouse because of all the congestion, issues parking, etc. that comes along with that kind of rapid growth.Midnight Oil is a neighborhood spot. I'm sure it has plenty of patrons - like me- driving to check it out. But it gets more than enough business by locals. The Friday night I visited was packed to the brim. There were people a to e in every square inch of the dining room, bar and overflow area. I managed to push my way to the bar and was surprised** to find an amiable bartender at the other end. He seemed nonplussed by the heavy crowds. He was cheerful and engaging in the face of pure chaos. I was impressed.I'd done my research so I knew what I wanted. I ordered a slice (yep, you can order by the slice; that's worth a star in and of itself) of Sweet Heat, 3 Meat and Buffalo Chicken to go. The bartender took my order and told me it was 'solid.' Since it was to go (ie I was driving), he gave me a glass of water and told me to stay where I was. Despite the crowd and me taking up a place at the bar with water, he didn't push me aside. Kudos, sir. In an appropriate amount of time, my food was ready and he gave me the big box of my bounty. I wished him well and took off.Getting home, I took out a bottle of American Blonde ale from the fridge and got to work. The Sweet Heat was a delicious blend of sweet, savory and spicy courtesy of the sliced capicola, jalapeños and honey drizzle. The 3 Meat was packed with bacon, sausage and pepperoni. And the Buffalo Chicken had a BLEU CHEESE BASE and was topped with chicken, celery, bacon, and buffalo sauce. All three slices were huge and delicious. I could barely finished but I egged myself on. I totally understand why it was so packed. Midnight Oil is legit. It's Friday night. You know where to go. *It was new-ish when I visited.**Sad to say."
"Went here for a bourbon tasting event. The room was gorgeous and the bar tender talking about the bourbon event was amazing. They even had live music playing in the corner. We didn't try any of the food but the atmosphere was great and it was a great event. I would come back to try the food and the other area of the restaurant!"
"What a cute little place! I wanted a little something to eat, so I got a few Sourdough slices w/ butter & honey-based jam. Didn't love the jam (though I love that it was made locally!), but maybe honey-based jams aren't my thing. I bet the blueberry one would be better. But just the bread with the butter was very, very good! They also have some nut butter available (I think those are local too). I got a London Fog with oat milk that I enjoyed, too. I think they're all just one size; it was like a normal "medium" & they steam it with the tea bag in. The counter service was so friendly and I love that the crew is there rolling out the dough and goodies! They have the local jams and some swag for sale."
"This is definitely one of my favorite places! I've been here three times with the occasion and experience being unique each time but always great! This last time was by far the best. I am tempted not to share their big secret which is they are now open for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday! I LOVE finding Saturday brunch places because Sunday brunch is always too busy and it can make it not enjoyable. We sat near the window so we didn't have the cold of the outside but the warmth of the sun! There were people enjoying their meal outside including someone with a dog and a baby. The mimosa options were great tasting and a great value! The Creme Brulee French toast was amazing and the Benedict was prepared perfectly. 100% WILL be returning!"
"I LOVE a cafe that has food in addition to coffee and tea.I LOVE a cafe that has an abundance of seating; especially when all the chairs are comfy.I LOVE a cafe with tables, outlets for working, and solid WiFi.I LOVE a cafe with kind staff.I LOVE a cafe with private parking. This place checks all my boxes."
"The day before Thanksgiving, I was assigned to stop here and pick up an order of pies. As duty to my family to retrieve the sweetness, I made the trek from East Nashville to this area. I was a bit skeptical driving past here as the entrance made the business seem nonexistent with no big sign or logo. But as soon as I walked in, I knew we were gonna experience some killer pies as the smell of baked goods, the table filled with to go orders, and the phone ringing off the hook were positive indications. The woman gave me the order, thanked me and my mom with a kind smile, and we were on our way back. The next day after we stuffed ourselves with the usual thanksgiving fixings, we dug into the sweets which consisted of the apple pie and pecan pie. Oh pie oh my! I dare anyone to find better pies than this. The buttery crust, the sugary filling, the perfect carmelization of the apples (for apple pie) and the sweet succulence of the pecan filling (for pecan pie) make these delicious baked goods a paradise for the sweet tooth. Pricy these concoctions are but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. And you get a grade A+ taste experience with this delicious pies!Ordering is done online for pickup or delivery. Fortunately they do deliver outside Tennessee. I may have to do that when I host Christmas in Houston this year. Other pies include peach pie, chocolate pecan, and jus' pie. They also have cookies and tarts which I'm sure are killer based on the pies. Props to Aunt Pam and Barbara for whipping up these sweet treats!"
"Amazing with Mexican cuisine! The food at El Trompo will leave you stuffed and satisfied -that's what she said! Oh all jokes aside the food at El Trompo really does have flavor and soul. Most recently they added birria & quesibirria tacos on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday only). The tacos IMHO are priced but worth every penny. The ingredients are always fresh and the quality never lacks. The service is always great, my family has been coming here since 2018 and its been great to see them go from a small minimal seating hole in a wall to the expanded seating area and bar Hendersonville staple they are today. The service is consistent and the menu is larger but the quality doesn't change."
