Dennis S. "Nice to have a respectable Chinese American take out conveniently located in Berry Farms. The hot and sour soup was thick, and had a pleasant kick of heat to it. It was a little shy on chunks of goodies, just had a few sliced mushrooms and bamboo shoots in it, but was still enjoyable, and the large is a nice sized serving to share. The dumplings had a thicker than usual wrapper. They were quite tasty with a nice dipping sauce. Had ordered the fried dumplings, and they had a little bit of burnt flavor from pan frying, so I think we'd go with the steamed next time. The sesame chicken was good sized chunks with a thick crust, and might have been a little overcooked. It made them chewy, which I actually found I didn't mind at all, made the meal a little heartier. I also really liked that the plentiful broccoli was perfectly cooked al dente, and that they had a light hand with the sauce. It was plenty flavorful, and happily not the drowned in overly sweet sauce that the dish comes with at too many other places.Look forward to exploring the menu more, and to have a chance to further update this review."

Terri H. "This hits the spot when you are craving Chinese food at the mall especially if you don't want to spend a lot of time eating. The food is already prepared so your only wait time is the line to get to the counter. The people serving the food were fast and friendly. It is difficult for me to decide on just one dish and although they have a two entree option I just felt like that would be too much food. I decided I was in a General Tso Chicken kind of mood so I ordered it with fried rice. I don't think it is physically possible for me to eat Chinese food without an egg roll so I added one to my order. The food was good and gave me the fuel to finish my shopping tasks. I've also had the peppered chicken and the bourbon chicken in the past. They were both very good. Next time maybe I'll have to be adventurous and try something new."

Alexis M. "If you want quick food then this is your spot. If you want flavorful food then this is not your spot. I was in the area and stopped to try this place for lunch. I ordered the L4: chicken, shrimp and mixed vegetables with white rice and wonton soup. I took my wonton soup home so I'll eat it later. I did eat the meal and the vegetables were crisp which I liked. Zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, and baby corn were the vegetables and all of them were good. The chicken was flavorless, gummy, and unappetizing. The shrimp were large, deveined, and cooked well but they were not enough to save the chicken."

Doug G. "Ah, China Village...walked into this place and immediately thought I was in a food court of a mall in 1993! From the lights, to the furniture, prices and of course the picture board menu above the counter. Everything about China Village screamed old school and also "this about to be good"!Sitting in a small, worn out shopping plaza just off of Highway 41/Dickerson, China Village is a solid spot for cheap, plentiful and tasty Chinese takeout. It is not much to look at and if you can get past the bars on the windows, you are in store for a treat. Delivery is not offered currently and you can technically eat in, but while there are tables there, it is not really set up for a good dine-in experience. I rang them up on a Friday evening to order (2) Sesame Chicken plates and (1) Large Wonton Soup. From order to arrival was about 20 minutes, and it was hot and ready! Overall, we are new to this side of town and while the whole "no delivery" thing is a bummer, China Village is definitely our go-to spot for a cheap and tasty Chinese night in."

They were so so flavorful and juicy and I was so impressed. Every bite was amazing. On the drunken noodles, they put fresh cucumbers on top and I really enjoyed that. If you like crab rangoons, you have to get them here! They're in a thin wrapper fried but the filling is so smooth and tasty. Also one of the best crab rangoons I've ever had! They do have bacon in them and thats probably the special ingredient. I also go the shrimp Tom yum soup and they give big pieces of shrimp. The Tom Yum was delicious, hot and a little sour, lots of lemongrass."

The food is always hot and fresh when we arrive to pick it up. Everything we have had has been really good. I think the prices are very fair (and even less than some places in the area) and I like that the entrees come with an egg roll. This is definitely our go-to Chinese restaurant even though it is out of our way."

The bad reviews almost deterred me from ordering, but I'm so glad I ignored them and ordered anyway! I got the General Tsos chicken combo, crab rangoons and a pop. I explained to them I needed sauces and silverware since we had nothing being at the hotel. The guy on the phone was so nice and said he'd take care of it no problem. A half hour later it was delivered hot and fresh. There were multiples of every sauce, napkins, and silverware. Everything was delicious! The General Tsos wasn't spicy but had great flavor. The fried rice was good as well. The crab Rangoon's had a delicious crispy dough and were full of filling. I'll be ordering it again next time we're in town!"

Coddy A. "Dinner and a show at China BellSure you'll pay extra for extra sauce, and there's a minimum on credit card purchases, but the entertainment is included. At China Bell, you get both decent Chinese food, all the while watching the owner and the staff taking the customers to task. You know what kind of place this is because of the wall to wall signs. There's even a sign if you get the wrong order. Basically, don't even think about bringing it up. Special order? Nope. It comes as it comes. They don't save the sass just for customers. That's a carry over from the work environment. The food is okay. What you expect from a strip mall Chinese place. If you're not expecting much, and have a good sense humor, this is the place for you. Come for wonton. Stay for show."

I really enjoyed the flavor of the Spicy Sour Noodles. The broth was delicious and the soup was full of delicious components, including some perfectly cooked bok choy. The sweet potato glass noodles were super long and a bit difficult to manage, but they tasted great. Our table really enjoyed the Pork and Chives Dumplings and the Basil Fried Chicken that we all shared. The roast pork buns were good also. My friend really enjoyed his bowl of Steak Noodles.Come here expecting good food at fair prices and you won't be disappointed."

Coddy A. "China Cottage is in a word "great." We had the General Tso chicken and fried rice. The ingredients are of high quality, and the preparation is done right. The General Tso breading was light, the chicken was a good quality white meat. Sauce was flavorful with a bit spice. Not thick and sugary and seems like it came directly out of can that you get at similar types of restaurants.Fried rice was plentiful and had a good flavor. As did the hot tea.Service was attentive, fast, and they seemed to actually enjoy being there, and helping. We were genuinely invited back and encouraged to try other items on the menu us because they are all good. And we believe them.Prices are reasonable, and they don't nickel and dime you. Entrees are around 12-14 on average. Hot Tea was $1.65. Menu selection has all classics you find in any Chinese restaurant which caters to a western customer.China Cottage just became our go to for Chinese food."

The day after New Years, I was over cooking and cleaning a million pots and pans, so Chinese take-out to the rescue! We ordered a ton of food with the sesame chicken and the beef/veggie platter being the standouts. Each meal comes with a side of rice, so be-careful when ordering extra rice, because you might end up with 4 extra sides of rice like we did. Beyond plain white rice they offer chow mein, Lo mein and of course fried rice. The chicken chow mein was our choice and it was amazing! The portions here are huge and four plates of food could easily feed five-six adults. We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef, veggies and chow mein. With tip all of it was just over $50 and we had leftovers for a few days!"

Sherry Y. "Dumpling House is the perfect addition to Hillsboro Village. Their dumplings are legit, and this is coming from a second generation Chinese-American immigrant whose mother makes some delectable homemamde jiaozi and baozi. These are slightly small in my opinion, but the flavors are on point and the chew of the dumpling skin is perfection. These will cost you a pretty penny if you eat as many dumplings as I do, but if you have a craving, it's worth it. Plus, they also serve up some impressive boba teas and soups on the side. I personally love their pork and chive dumplings, but you can't go wrong with ordering. Their curry beef and onion reminds me of a curry dumpling from a chain I used to get habitually in Taiwan and HK. Honestly, you can't go wrong in any of your orders. There's mostly street parking here, so time your visit accordingly. If you don't mind a slight walk, you can always find a free spot near the park a few blocks away."

Great Wall of China Restaurant is locally owned and operated by the same family who has a hand in co-owning Miso Sushi down the road from it. The teenage daughter of the owners, Jerrica, was super sweet and funny. She had a great personality and very assisting in helping us decide what we wanted for our meal. Not to forget to mention she has a great sense of humor, and honestly made it worth all the while in dining here.As far as the food, it was super filling and we had a good bit of it. We took home leftovers and the reheating of it tasted just as good as if we had it while at the restaurant. It is truly a whole in the wall type of place, but worth checking out!"

Michelle T. "A couple friends recently have commented that they wished Nashville had a good "fancy Chinese" spot, and Choy has come along to meet that need. Service was terrific, food was great, and drinks were fun (extensive wine list available!). I especially appreciated that both the small plates and the larger dishes were creative and delicious: sometimes I find one course outshines the other, but here the experience was consistent throughout. I'd highly recommend everything we ordered: the yellowtail tuna, the Taiwanese-style eggplant, the shrimp fried rice, and the Peking duck. All together, it was too much food for two, but we received a carefully-packed bag of takeout that reheated beautifully the next day. The setting feels a bit like a fancy club, so it's a good date-night spot with secluded private booths for two or four."

Doug G. "China Spring is my new go-to for quick serve, tasty, bountiful and well priced Chinese food! China Spring is located in the Kroger shopping plaza on Highway 100 and like most Mom and Pop Chinese spots, there is not a whole lot to it. They are still not allowing dine-in, but you can walk-in and wait inside for your order. They do a lot of call-in and online orders, but I happened to get a craving for Sesame Chicken right as I was walking into Kroger, so I popped over, ordered and then went to do my shopping while they prepared it. I was in Kroger for about 15 - 20 minutes and by the time I popped back in to China Spring, they had me all ready to go! In addition to being impressed by the service, the food was solid as well! I ordered Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice and a Wonton Soup. The Wonton Soup was great. The broth was nice and light, but still flavorful and it was packed with wontons! I do wish they gave you more crispies with it, but I will know to ask next time! The sesame chicken was excellent and bountiful! They do not waste your time with a bunch of broccoli filler on the plate, you get 99% chicken, which no one is complaining about! The chicken was covered in that sweet sauce, but still held its crispiness. The rice, which yellow and I am still getting used to that since moving to Nashville, was packed in a container and equally delicious! Overall, massively impressed with China Spring and will certainly be back...and back and back again!"

After an exhaustive and disappointing search as transplants, Best Wok has stepped into the top spot for us...at least on our end of town! We ordered recently and the whole process, delivery and food were all top notch. Our order consisted of wonton soup, sesame chicken and house lo mein...all absolutely delicious! Wonton soup is normally the item I judge a spot off of and I am super pumped that Best Wok has some great wonton soup! The broth is flavorful, the dumplings are in copious and packed full! The egg roll was a true egg roll and not a spring roll, which is great! Apparently mixing those two up is a thing for a few spots around here. Sesame Chicken was great, sauce was sticky, smooth and tangy and the rice was pork fried, which is a nice touch. And finally the Lo Mein was solid! Delivery, while expensive due to the fees, was quick...arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule! I think next time we may try pick up to avoid the fees as our $22 order quickly became $38. Overall, super pumped to have found Best Wok! We will certainly be enjoying grub from here for as long as are in this area of Nashville!"

It's really difficult to find a place that makes fried tofu well but this place reminds me of home. I always ask for the teriyaki sauce on the side because it can be overpowering so I don't use a ton of it. Their sizzling beef is also another favorite dish of mine! The highlights we're the pork low mein and the Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef had great flavor, but not enough beef! It was 50/50 onions to beef. The low mein was great, lots of textures and surprisingly light. Don't forget the veggie springs roll, always a must order! Only a couple of low lights to the meal. The fried rice seemed old and dried out and General Tso's chicken was basically orange chicken. Still had good flavor, but zero heat.
