In the East Valley this is the most authentic Filipino cuisine you're going to find. Family owned and operated. Banatao (Momma) is still working on site. The daughters run the restaurant. My wife would go here two or three times a week if it were any closer to our house. Expect to pay about $12-$15 a person. We will be back again and again.

Filipino cuisine--a fiesta of flavors and culture it has been! The Tagalog word "Nanay" means mother or mom, which evokes the idea that nothing beats a good home-cooked meals prepared by mothers.Nanay's Restaurant in Chandler truly satisfied my cravings for Filipino-style cooking. It absolutely did! I am always excited to let other culture taste our own dishes. I am glad my luncheon date (his first time to enjoy Filipino food) had nothing but praises, finding the food rich in flavors. They have a cafeteria-style of ordering--fall in line, choose from the displayed dishes, and pay at the counter. The line was short when we arrived, but it quickly grew as more people (not just Filipinos) came in. The food options were overwhelming and so inviting that we ended up ordering a lot and taking some home. While ordering, I explained each dish- some of the ingredients and cooking methods. We had first and the most important of all, RICE. For Asians, Rice is Life. We had Dinuguan (pork/beef blood stew), Sinigang (Filipino sour soup), Longganisa (Filipino sausage), Beef Caldereta (beef stew), and Sinugbang Baboy (grilled pork). For dessert, we enjoyed Turon (sweet, crispy roll with banana inside) and Ube Halaya (purple yam pudding).Throughout, I kept telling my big foodie date, "You have to taste this! This is really good! We always cook this at home!" Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The service was quick and friendly. I speak their language and I had a good chat with the staff. It felt nostalgic, like being transported back to the Philippines. Growing up, I always came home to delicious, home-cooked meals. My family had a small restaurant serving home-cooked style meals. When there is no school, I often helped out that I have learned to cook and found love for cooking. Sharing home-cooked food meant eating together as a family, respecting the table full of blessings, and never wasting food. So, if you have never tried Filipino cuisine yet, Nanay's is the place to go. 'She' will not disappoint you.

Amazing Filipino food Came here with a beautiful Filipino lady who ordered for both of us as this was my first time enjoying Filipino food. I really don't know the names of the food we got, but ordered almost one of everything. My pictures show what we got and everything was delicious. The one thing to point out for anyone coming here is that you can order a 2 dish or 3 dish plate that comes with rice. It's a lot of food

On our tour to try all the Filipino places in the valley. So glad we came here! It was a very early dinner (4:00) so there was hardly anyone else here. The lady that helped me was so friendly! Thank you Aunty!! My friend is new to Filipino food and she answered his questions patiently and with such a smile. Ordered so much food!! It was hella good price for what we got. I feel like I've been paying so much money at other places. The place is super clean too!! They ran out of pancit before we got there, so I have to come back to try theirs. Nothing beats Mom's cooking but they got pretty close!! So many vegetables and delicious flavors.

I think my last review was the same time around last year, and everything is still very good! The only issue is they have become busier and I have to wait a little longer!Great service still, especially when Ate Ferlyn checks us out and waves us goodbye!

First time ever having Filipino cuisine. Delicious food. Had a pork dish and a beef dish with rice and noodles, everything looked great. The egg roll is huge with fresh flavors. Super kind staff who explained everything to a first-timer. Loved it!

Once the food runs out that's it. Line is always out the door so come early to get a seat. Food is cafeteria style so you choose as you go. Halo halo is ok.

I was looking for Filipino spots, this was a popular one that stood out in many of the Filipino recommendations. Here was my experience.AMBIANCE:Parking: Plaza parking so there's a lot of room. I didn't have any issues.Seating: Inside seating, great for small and large groups. There's room for about 40 people.Vibes: It's in a not to flashy place. Just a general plaza with other restaurants and everyday stores. The place itself is pretty nice. I enjoyed the top 40 music for some familiar sounds. I like the simple decor of pictures of the Philippines or bilaos. They have a karaoke machine too if you're into that. Great for families, quick Filipino food, or catering.!FOOD:Kaldereta (Recommend)This was the most recommended and I can see why. The beef was juicy, well sauced. There was a good portion of peas and potatoes. What makes this different from other ones I had are there mushrooms. It added a nice extra umami kick to it.Chicken Adobo (Recommend)This was comforting. I make a pretty good batch but for what's given in Arizona... I approved. Chicken well cooked and well marinated.Peanuts (Recommend)For a great all-round snack, this is good. Little nutty sweetness but nice salted savory touch to it.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Great people! Friendly servers that were quick and helpful.TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars. I enjoyed my visit here. Visiting from California, this place held it down and represented. Great choices, good food, all at a reasonable price. For those craving Filipino food, be sure to check this spot out. #FilipinoFoodMovementTIPS:* Come early! This spot is no hidden gem!

A bit conflicted on our second time here. We definitely will return though because the value is so good. We ordered two 3 entree plates to go and some dishes were extra greasy (which is expected so its fine) but the longanisa was strangely soft this time. The casing should have a crispy crunch to it when you bite into it. We were disappointed in that!Garlic rice was extra flavorful this time which we enjoyed. I liked that they gave us 2 different soups versus just the usual 1. The new soup was healthier and more refreshing than the usual sinigang they offer.
