Came right before 6 pm on a Friday evening and had no problem being seated without reservations. We rushed here because the website states that that don't take dinner reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, but upon checking again, it seems that they did. ordered : (3/5)- beef combo: the beef combo serves 2 people. The meats came with a stew, side dishes, and steamed egg. The kimchi stew was delicious however the steamed egg tasted a slightly burnt.- premium pork jowl : the pork jowl was served last and the tasted fine, but it wasn't anything special .Overall the quality of meats are not bad but not amazing and not justified for the steep price. service: (4/5)the service was nice. Our steam egg initially came with something inedible inside and they quickly offered to remake it. They also refilled our side dishes a couple of times which was nice!vibe: (5/5)The vibe is really nice at night. It's pretty loud with the music playing , so it'd be a great place for friends !parking: (1/5)street parking is super difficult and requires permits. Valet is $20 and isnt validated with dining at the restaurant.overall:Definitely worth a try, but for the steep price, difficulty of parking, quality of meats, I think there are better options.

This is hands down one of the best places for Korean BBQ in the Boston area. The service, food, and atmosphere are all exceptional. We visited on a weekday evening, and although it was pretty crowded, we were seated within a reasonable time. Our waiter was very helpful, explaining the menu options and even recommending some dishes to try.The Korean BBQ was fantastic. The staff started cooking the meat for us, but we took over since we're used to doing it ourselves. They still kept an eye on the grill to ensure nothing was overcooked. The meat was tender, juicy, and paired perfectly with the dipping sauces. We also tried the seafood pancake, kimchi stew, and cold noodles. I don't usually enjoy cold noodle broth, but this one was particularly good. The service was top-notch. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff surprised us with a complimentary Soju. Our waiter even helped us make Somaek.Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The dishes can get a bit pricey if you're a big eater, but it's definitely worth it.

I've been here for a couple of dates and I enjoyed the experience at NaKSaN. I've tried both sizes of the beef combo. The large beef combo is $179.95 for marinated Korean traditional beef short rib, chuck flap cap, hanger steak, marinated cubed prime short rib, and thinly sliced beef brisket with a choice of stew and egg souffle. The small beef combo is $139.95 for chuck flap cap, hanger steak, marinated cubed prime short rib, and thinly sliced beef brisket as well as the choice of stew and egg souffle. The main difference between the large and small size is that the large comes with the marinated Korean traditional beef short rib. They also serve rice and banchan with the meal. Each time I've been here, the portions have been the same. It seems like the portion sizes are lacking for the prices that you pay. If this is meant to be upscale, they should consider adding more quality meats to each combo or providing more upscale options for banchan and the stew + souffle. It doesn't feel worth the price for the small portions of meat. Service is pretty decent as the servers will grill and cut your meats for you as well as serve the portions equally amongst all party members. There are also buzzers/bells on the table if you need to ring for your server if you're done with your meal. It's pretty loud in the restaurant as they have large tube vents that hover over the grill. If the restaurant is full, it's pretty hard to hear any music in the background or the person sitting across from you. The vent does also block your view of your party member if you're sitting across from each other. I don't really feel like it's necessary to return and I also don't see it as a viable option for special occasions because of the portion sizes v. price.

This place never disappoints. Went with two last night and it was amazing. The quality of meats you can get were unbeatable for a higher end kbbq spot. We got the small beef combo and pork jowl and it was more than enough to feed us. The service was great, they were super attentive but my only complaint was that they cook extremely quickly so it felt sort of rushed. The restaurant itself was super modern and had great ventilation. Will be coming back!

Came here with a party of 4 on a weeknight. I had a reservation for 6 pm but it was probably unnecessary since there were plenty of tables open. You could call ahead of time to check as well. We split a large beef combo and also got a seafood pancake. All of the food tasted really good! The meats were all tender and flavorful (note that the restaurant staff will cook for you). I also enjoyed the banchan dishes as well as the included egg souffle and kimchi stew. The seafood pancake was different from what I'm used to from other restaurants -- it was more soft and crepe like, and the included sauce was pretty spicy. However, as many have mentioned, I think that it was definitely expensive for what you get. I've had excellent high quality KBBQ in other cities for less. Also I'm normally quite full after KBBQ but this was NOT the case here. And this is with us getting the seafood pancake too. We ended up eating more food at home since we didn't want to spend more at Naksan. The meat that is shown in my picture is all you get. All in all our bill was $212 for 4 people....so I won't be in a hurry to come back to be honest. Maybe only for a special occasion.

Ambiance, is well lit, open space, pretty typical of your average KBBQ place in LA or NJ. We came for an early lunch just after they opened at 12 on a Sunday. There were already 2 tables there. Hostess asked if we had reservations, we did not, they sat us down near the window (4 people). The grill is Charcoal and the vacuum did a good job sucking all the smoke so we weren't breathing in any of it.Service: amazing, but it might be because we were basically the only table there for a while. Waitstaff was attentive, kept the refilling the waters, refilling the lettuce for wraps and would bring extra bonchons when we asked. We asked the waiter for suggestions as it was our first time there. We ordered everything he suggested, Beef Combo and Potato pancake. When food was served, the waiter did all the cooking and distribution of food. He was respectful and experienced. Food: excellent.Tea- They start the meal with a cup of Oomija (cold floral tea) to open up our appetite Bon Chon- a lot of sides, mash potato had veggies in it and was sweet. Kimchi was perfect, pickled green onion, celery, lettuce, potato's, fish cakesPotato pancake- worth the order, delicious, had cheese in the middle and kids loved it.Beef combo- 5 different cuts of meat, all great quality, cooked well and no gaminess. The combo came with a choice of soup, Kimchi or Miso spicy soup. Also came with steamed egg. Both were delectable. The steamed egg was one of the best I had ever tasted (I've been to quite a few Korean restaurants). Price point is on the high end but you have to expect to pay that around Boston since there aren't as many in the same league quality as in NJ/LA BBQs. Parking is street parking, we were able to find a spot after driving around a bit but that could be hard if unfamiliar with the area

I was excited to hear that a new Korean BBQ place was coming to Boston because there aren't a ton of great options for Korean BBQ here! Food: We got both the Beef combo and the Pork combo. Both meat platters were delectable and were great quality. The marinated meats were tasty and not overwhelming in flavor. The egg soufflé had the potential to be amazing but the texture was inconsistent. It was also too burnt on the bottoms so impossible to scrape. The Jjigae (stew) was delicious and very full in flavor! Good amount of meat and veggies in it too. The ice cream we got for dessert was so beautiful and loved that it came with an additional sweet honey dessert with it (Yakgwa)Ambiance:This is a classic Korean BBQ place. The servers grill the food for you so your clothes don't have to stink up too much! This place also gets very lively at night if you like to drink Soju with your meal.Price:Definitely on the pricier side. It was more than expected but also unsurprising for a Korean BBQ place in Boston.Overall would go again if I'm really craving Korean BBQ. I would say this is the best BBQ place in the Boston area.

After trying 4 other Korean BBQ spots in our area we decided to drive a bit farther to try this one out, since the others had been just ok. We ordered the combo for 4 people for $179, all cuts of meat were very tender and had good look and smell as well, which already set it apart from a couple other ones I've visited in the past. The grill works with charcoal, is both electric like in other Korean BBQ places, which is great and gives the meat a nice flavor. All banchan plates were really good in flavor as well, the stew was a "finally a good one!" moment for me, after been served what tasted like colored water with some salt and cabbage in other places this one took the prize. The egg soufflé was great too, nice flavor and great size. We barely finished (2 people that eat a lot), so maybe this combo would be great for 3 people.Service was 10/10, from the person that picks up the phone, to the one that greets you to the server, super attentive and they kept making sure we had enough banchan at all times on our table. The greatest thing for me was the great extractors they use. In all the previous ones I had visited their extractors sucked! You get smoke all over your face, your hair, your clothes, your thoughts, everywhere! Here they have very good quality ones, my fresh washed hair appreciated it and it helped us enjoy our meal way more than in the other places. The parking situation is tricky, we had to do a couple laps around the block to try to find a spot, so be prepared for that. Many people like to complain about the price and what you get for what you pay, but we thought this was pretty fair priced. Compared to the quality of beef we got in other places, the service, flavor, and cleanliness + personal experience we believe this is a solid place for Korean BBQ.

I don't often write 1 star reviews, but I was super disappointed with my experience at Naksan. This is one of those places that is extremely overhyped -- and for the outrageous price that we paid, both the food and the portion size fall far below any reasonable standard.I'll start with the portion sizes. My group of four ordered the large beef combo, which clocked in at $180 total. That said, I'm pretty sure "large beef combo" was supposed to be meant ironically, because the portions of meat that we got were extremely small. There was maybe enough for each of us to have 2-3 cubes of each serving. Yes, the combo comes with one (1) egg souffle and one (1) stew, but apparently you get the exact same amount for the small beef combo too, which definitely makes the large combo not worth it.Even more disappointing was the quality. Small serving sizes? Fine. Fine dining restaurants do it all the time -- but the difference is I walk away from those places actually feeling satisfied with what I paid for, instead of like I got scammed. To put it plainly, the cuts of meat were not good. The cuts of meat were chewy and underwhelming. The last course (thinly sliced beef brisket) was the type of thin, rolled meat you'd get at an AYCE BBQ place, not somewhere that I just paid $180 for.Honestly, I can think of no redeeming qualities to my time at Naksan. Service was super slow / neglectful + kept forgetting parts of our order, despite the restaurant being largely empty. The price was ridiculous. The food was mid. All in all, I'd recommend skipping Naksan at all costs -- even buying meats to grill yourself is more worth than this.

Meat (3/5)Average considering the steep priceMarinated meet were just way too sweet and meet was average at most.. Banchan (4/5)I think the highlight is the banchans. Variety of banchans that would appeal to a lot of people but some of them were either too salty or too sweet for me. Regardless, I liked them overall. Service (4/5)Mostly attentive service but the meat grilling can be better (some of them were burnt) Ambience (4.5/5)Good amount of private space assigned to each group, new/clean facilitiesWill I come here again, probably not. It's overpriced for the quality of the meat. Happy to see a Korean bbq place in Boston locals though
