My Place by the Sea

We had an outdoor table, and the ambience was fabulous on an August night. It was overpriced for what we ordered but I really wanted to dine in the water so it was ok this time. My Greek salad was different than what I was used to but decent. I think it was the dressing. My husband had a nice fish sanwich. I ordered a mocktail and it was disappointing. A raspberry lime Ricky tasted like sprite with raspberry syrup. Too sweet and no lime flavor for $10. The foccasia bread and spread app was delicious Service was excellent. Going one time for a special occasion was enough.

My mom and I stayed in Rockport for a long weekend. We ate here after an 8+ hour drive from Maryland. Ended up sitting upstairs with the whole upper dining area to ourselves. It was magical with the fairy lights. Barbara took great care of us, as did the waiter. They both made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and filling and the drinks were expertly made. I had the lobster tacos and a My Place Blue Sky cocktail and we shared a coconut cake for dessert. Just lovely!

We've been going to My Place for years. It's our go-to for romantic fine dining. The menu is small, but it changes frequently, is always creative, and doesn't disappoint. Set at the end of Bearskin Neck, you can't beat the views, especially in summer when the deck is open. Make sure you have reservations: it's a popular place.

Burger absolutely sucked. it was very burnt and had nothing on it other than burnt bacon.It also made me feel like junk afterwards

Great views if you sit outside.Service and food are okay, but you're paying for the view.

Went there with 4 of us for dinner. The view cant be beat, but the food was just ok. I had the Baked shrimp, scallops, and Artichoke. It came with 4 Artichokes, 2 Scallops which were undercooked, and 1 Shrimp on the small side. Definitely was not good and way overpriced. My wife had the steak and said it was good. My friends had the Salmon and Lamb and both said they were not great. Also dont bother mentioning any special occasions as they did absolutely nothing. They did pay attention to a food allergy. I had always wanted to try this place, and now that I did, I wont be going back, at least not for the food. Also they have a weird reservation system where you have to show up at 12:00 on the day of.

The server was horrible, the burgers were overdone, we had asked three times for straws, never offered condiments, salt, pepper, ketchup, I had a salad and they charge me four dollars for a baguette bread that came after my meal. Overpriced definitely save your money.

We made reservations for a 6:00 dinner on a Monday night for my 60th Birthday. We got a Beautiful seat by the water. Ordered 2 delish drinks. I told the server I had a severe shellfish allergy and asked if she could tell the chef. No problem! We asked about the haddock and she confirmed with the chef that it would work for me, then left to check on another table. Came back to take our order. Ordered 2 haddock meals, easy breezy, comes back to say they are all out of haddock. Okay, we will take the sirloin steak, since there's really no other options due to my shellfish allergy, I laughed it off. She returned to say that was also out along with the filet mignon "So basically I can have a salad for my special birthday dinner" We decided to pay the $40 for 2 drinks and go to Beauport for a lovely dinner

Worst restaurant experience I have ever had! This restaurant is pretty and the food is not bad at all but..........,,,The owners are the worst! We waited outside for 45 minutes to be there when they opened at 11:30. Fine. They were 20 minutes late opening so I asked a wait staff " don't you open at 11:30 ? ". Owner yelled out without addressing a line of people waiting " we open when we open ". Hmmmm. Pretty rude in my world. We are business owners ourselves and our customers are our life blood. This is why we are here and happy to see them and appreciate them.We sat with our 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren and had a nice meal but were troubled about the presentation that " welcomed us " We had a lovely waitress ( in the beginning) who served us well but at the end of the meal when our children and grandchildren went outside asked the quietly speak to the manager and just privately say to her ( I always appreciate feed back ,good and bad ) to let us know how we are doing. So we addressed her very nicely letting her now how we and other patrons felt about how we were addressed upon entering. Well......Holy crap .... she started laying into us in front of all the other patrons , then bringing her partner out to join in and then the waitress as well creating a circus atmosphere which we could not believe totally filled with inaccurate information and the sweet waitress turned on us as well. Probably looking to kiss up to the owners. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! During the stressful times during covid we would expect the owners to put their best foot forward . I can't believe they remain in business treating people this way. Thank goodness for the view, any other place would be done long ago. Our recommendation. SKIP this place! We laid out $230.00 for lunch and left totally troubled. The owners ate the worst and should not be in business.

Visiting the area and came on a whim. Exquisite views. Started with the chowder and the best way to describe is "WOW". I ordered the Wild Mussels and my gf ordered the fish sandwich. Hard to describe how delicious and fresh both were. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. One of the owners (Barbara) was extremely friendly. Absolutely loved this place and the experience. Even gave us a dessert because it was out anniversary. Can't wait to come back to Rockport sole for My Place by the Sea!
