Good things first: The service and ambience were both fantastic. Our server and the hostess were both very sweet and efficient and the dining room is super cozy (also small, you will be right up on top of the people around you). Unfortunately the food and value were just not it. Maybe it would be a good place for someone who's brand new to Filipino food to gently dip a toe in but I definitely had expectations based on reviews that it did not live up to. Everything was very expensive but the seasoning and flavors just were not there. Textures were good, presentation was pretty, but everything was so bland. I was surprised and really disappointed. The crackers with the kilawin were pretty but had no flavor and were so huge for the amount of meat they came with. The inaloban na isda was not good, the sauce was too thick and the fish was overcooked, also very little flavor. The sisig was ok but it tasted better reheated the next day when I fried it with more seasonings and added another fried egg. Overall: great service, pretty space, good textures, noooooo flavor, super pricy.

So apparently the reservations go crazy here and you gotta book a couple weeks ahead (idk bc I'm still a child and all my friends make the plans and all I have to do is show up yes, I'm that friend ) Restaurant is very teeny tiny but they do have additional outside area that's tented and have heat lamps during colder months I'm not the BIGGEST fan of Philippino food, so I don't have it often so not sure if it was authentic but I can say that the food was tasty!Little disappointed with the garlic rice - not very fragrant/ super subtle garlic flavor and was quite wet... the sisig was not my favorite only because I'm not a huge fan of fatty meat, but was definitely very flavorful and I think my friends enjoyed this! The fried chicken was SO crispy, juicy and tender, nicely seasoned and for sure the best dish of the night (must get!!)IG: Spillingthe.beans

As a Filipina-American, I can tell you first hand going out to eat Filipino Food can be difficult. Because you grow up with some of the most amazing home cooked meals from family and aunties who boast having the best recipes. So many times, when going out to eat Filipino Food - you might often say, I could make this at home or my mom makes this so much better. But you guys, you will not come here and say this. The Filipino food here is elevated and refined. And not too refined where you lose the essence of Pinoy food. The essence of the menu remains strong to Filipino culture and traditions but with a contemporary twist that brings out the flavors and highlights them in a such a phenomenal way. My first visit was several months ago and even after that first visit, I was always planning on my next visit. And my visit last night, was even better than the first. The first visit, I loved everything except the chicken joy. I didn't like the crust and found the chicken a little dry. But I absolutely loved everything else - the dinuguan, the Kare Kare, the Laing, and especially the Bibingka. Last night, I finally got to try their version of sinigang and it was sour but bright, filled with lots of veggies and the pork belly cooked perfectly. Also tried the afritada with fried chicken and that was amazing. The chicken definitely redeemed from the first time having chicken Joy. It was crispy and juicy and the afritada sauce was amazing. And the drinks are always delicious. But don't sleep on the ube lemon soda. It's bright, fresh and not overly sweet. If you never had Filipino Food then this place is the only one you will want to come to experience it. Because you will have an awesome introduction. If you grew up eating Filipino Food, then you will still want to come here because the flavors are everything you're familiar with high quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. The staff is just as amazing as the food here and this intimate restaurant is hip and cool. A great setting for great food.

After hearing so much about this restaurant, I finally decided to give it a try. We had a reservation for 9:30 PM, which I thought was funny since they close at 10 PM. The interior has an intimate design and dim lighting. Great for catching up with friends or celebrating occasions.+ Pork Sisig (4/5): Classic! Can't go wrong. Great portion and I love that it comes out on the sizzling skillet. Very hearty and full of savory flavors. You NEED to eat this with rice. Not up for debate.+ Sinigang Na Lechon Belly (3/5): I've had better elsewhere, but it's not bad! Very rich and tangy broth. The various veggies were fresh and soaked up the broth well. The pork was the biggest let down for me. It was really tough and somewhat salty. I also felt this was a small amount for the price.+ Short Rib Kare Kare (5/5): DELICIOUS! The short rib fell off the bone from being so tender. The beef was definitely on the fatty side. I loved the addition of grean beans and eggplant. It really balanced everything together. If I'm being picky, I just wish it had more peanut butter sauce!Overall, I wouldn't say this is a MUST TRY in Seattle... but it's definitely a decent choice if you're willing to splurge. The menu is quite unique and you get good quality dishes that are recommended for groups. Family-style eating!!

I had heard a lot about this restaurant with it winning a lot of awards and gaining notoriety so I wanted to check it out. We made reservations online ahead of time and were seated immediately for a party of two.LUMPIANG SHANGHAI ($14) - the portions for these were really good and the inside was meaty. I liked the vinegar dipping sauce. 4.5/5SINIGANG NA LECHÓN ($26) - I liked the contrast between the crispy pork and its softness after being in the soup. The broth was sour from the tomatoes and the flavor was great. 4/5FRIED CHICKEN AFRITADA ($32) - I thought it could've used more seasoning and the tomato-based sauce didn't really go well with the chicken. I think the sauce would've tasted better with pasta or carbs but not fried chicken. 3/5SHORT RIB KARE KARE ($52) - for some reason I thought the ribs would be small but they were huge beef ribs. I liked the peanut butter sauce and the tons of fried garlic on top. It was super tender and I can see why it's one of their most popular dishes. 5/5GARLIC RICE ($6) - self-explanatory but delicious with all the fried garlic. 4/5 For drinks I got the kasama mama ($16) which was good. One thing is I wish they had more cocktail offerings since they only have 5 on the menu. This place isn't big but it utilizes the space well and it has cool vibes.

Seattle really has a gem of a Filipino restaurant w/ amazing flavours in Musang. The menu, a vibrant tapestry of Filipino cuisine, delivers an exquisite culinary journey.Their take and style of classic Filipino cuisine is quite unique and it was showcased in two of the dishes we ordered. Their rendition of Sinigang has a tantalizingly sour broth which cleverly incorporates tart green apple with a perfect balance of flavors, and is a must-try. Their pancit lomi is a wonderful noodle dish w/ plenty of hearty veggies in a delectable brown sauce. Make sure to order some garlic rice to sop up all the tasty gravy and broth from both of these dishes. The attentive staff members really went out of their way to ensure for an amazing dining experience. The warmth of Filipino hospitality combined with the symphony of flavors makes this restaurant a true culinary treasure in Seattle. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast of Filipino cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore new tastes, this place is an absolute must-visit.Another positive is their proximity and closeness to the local transit line. We were able to take a short ride on the Link line from downtown to the Beacon Hill stop and walk to the restaurant.

Musang has everything you could want from a nice restaurant in the city. The service is fantastic as they have a very large staff making sure you are taken care of throughout the evening. The drinks are delicious. We each ordered two and every one we tried was excellent. And of course the food is delicious and you get to try several things. Our favorite dish was the Musang Joy Fried Chicken as is it came with a delicious gravy and it was nice that it had some pickles to help balance out the heaviness of it. The Pancit Canton noodle dish with chili crisp was also excellent and the Lumpiang Shanghai were also tasty and had a good crispy exterior. The one dish we probably wouldn't get again would be the Sisig which was a sizzling pork belly as it was too much fat for us and we'd rather try something else next time like one of the dishes with seafood. We also tried the Garlic Fried Rice and finished with the Roasted Banana Sorbet since we were full and just wanted a small dessert. This is a restaurant I am really excited to go back to and try again!

I've been wanting to come here ever since reading a news article about Musang, which boasts an elevated take on Filipino food. I loved the concept, as I've never been to a sit-down, multi-course Filipino restaurant, other than my grandmother's house :)The food itself was delicious. Some dishes were familiar with a bit of a twist, like the pancit, which incorporated mushrooms and pickled veggies, and some, like the Shanghai lumpia, tasted just like home. The scallops were a new concept to me, but delicious and unique nonetheless. The garlic rice was to die for! I've been trying to recreate it ever since visiting. Apart from the waitress mispronouncing one of the dishes (pancit), the staff seemed super well-versed in what they were serving. Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

Heard so many amazing things from locals and friends from the Bay so I knew I had to check it out. Early reservations are difficult to get so be prepared for a later dinner! We ordered a bunch of dishes (for me to try since my friend's been here quite a few number of times. Top highlights are the fried chicken afritada and short rib kare kare which make for a very filling and meaty meal. All of the flavors were new to me but it's very cool to see elevated Filipino doing so well in the community! Very comparable to Abaca in SF and I'd highly recommend both.

Visiting Seattle with the family. This time around had to bring my family to try the modern Filipino food by James Beard nominee chef. Wish I would have brought our friends so we can order more in the menu. Since there are only three of us- we were limited on how much we can order since our flight back to vegas is later in the Evening. For starters, we ordered Lumpiang Shanghai and daing na talaba. My son enjoyed the eggroll. The oyster dish was delicious and flavorful. For our main entree I had to get the short rib Kare Kare and sisig. Both were so good. The Kare Kare didn't need extra bagoong (shrimp paste)- perfect with the garlic rice. Both dishes were so big that we had leftovers we brought in the plane and able to finish off for breakfast. We made room to try the tkocolate pandan cake. It was moist and flavorful. Can't wait to try the chefs collaboration with Filipino chefs this coming February in Vegas. Supporting Filipino chefs with their endeavors and pushing Filipino to American dining scene. Yes it's not your grandmother's cooking but modernizing it is great.
