We are in sushi mood recently and happily found this place in the neighborhood. Mr Sushi is located at corner of Arlington town center on Mass ave. We were surprised that we never tried it before after being in the area for years. It is a small place with a few tables, but it is clean without any dummy odor.We ordered take out this time, sushi delux, sushi special and maki combo. The sushi rice is of high quality with good texture and flavor. The fish is fresh with beautiful color. The chef's choice nigiri offers good variety. And the dinner entree is reasonably priced too. We are glad to find this hidden gem in the area and will come back to try their specialty maki next time.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Arlington and I do NOT remember disliking the food. But here we are in 2018 and things have gone downhill.I came during the week so it was pretty empty. Service was terrible which was pretty interesting because NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE. The waitress misheard us on drink orders and seemed annoyed about it... Also, I ordered shrimp tempura and received a shrimp tempura maki roll? I was pretty frustrated by that point so we just ate it.Spicy Tuna- SPICY. SO SPICY. Good.Spicy Salmon- Fishy. Haven't had old fish in a LONG time. No one liked this (or wanted to eat it).Eel Avo- Good.Hamachi roll- Okay, way too much riceShrimp tempura maki- Tasteless except the shrimp. I would never order this again (and I didn't mean to this time).The ratio of fish to rice is so off. I felt like I ate a huge bowl of rice after leaving Mr. Sushi. They should re name it Mr. Rice.Sake was good.

First of all, I'm not a hater to this restaurant. I regularly buy food from Mr. Sushi and I appreciated their work under this pandemic. But recently, their number stops working and it is frustrating as customers who are outside standing and waiting, unable to contact the staffs about our arrival or to make any special request on food. I gave one star is reasonable. For any business owners, it is essential to have a valid reachable business number during their operation time. It is also understandable under certain condition, the phone number is not reachable. But it is important to inform the customers about the situation by simply sticking a note on the window or post any announcement online.Unfortunately, I have to gave one star review to Mr. Sushi because they failed to fix the phone issue again and with no explanation, allowing this happen for a long time. In addition, I had scheduled a specific pick-up time on Grubhub. But they failed to acknowledged it. Instead, they called me 30 minutes earlier than the schedule time. When I stopped by the restaurant to pick it up, I have to wait outside and knock the window pretty hard because again, their number is not reachable. I saw the staff was not picking up phone call from other customers. She was just standing there and looking at the monitor in front of her. Eventually, when she realized my knock on the window, she put my food at the door and did not say a word. She immediately turned around. Lastly, I know everyone is experiencing a hard time under pandemic but I hope Mr. Sushi notice the importante of having a valid phone number is the fundamental step to open a restaurant. Especially under this pandemic, the phone number is the only way to communicate with customers and please treat customers with proper respectful service.

We were in the area and decided to give Mr. Sushi a try. When I do sushi, I prefer to go to Japanese owned establishments, but since I also wanted kimchi jjigae, I was open to trying Mr. Sushi today. Overall, the whole meal exceeded my expectations. The sushi and maki definitely hit the spot, generous portions considering it's sushi, and just enough rice, not too much. For maki, we got spicy tuna, eel avocado, and spider rolls. For sushi, we got the yellowtail, salmon, shrimp, and flying fish roll nigiris. My husband especially liked how crunchy the soft shell crab was in the spider maki. One thing to note is that when I generally order a spicy tuna roll, it will be inside out with some cucumber. Here at Mr. Sushi, when you order a spicy tuna roll, they make it as a spicy tekka maki. Next time, I would ask for spicy tuna and cucumber maki. The other thing that bothered me was that the girl who packed my order placed my soy sauce on top of my kimchi jjigae. So, my soy sauce was warm, and I didn't end up using it. Luckily, I keep Japanese style soy sauce at home. If she's going to pack the sushi in a different bag from the hot items, then she should make sure to put the soy sauce in with the sushi. Again, the generous portion of miso soup was in a medium sized soup container and was tastier than other places. It satisfied my nine-year old daughter's bottomless need for the liquid! At first, when I took the top off the container of the kimchi jjigae and noticed the thick cut strips of pork, I was thinking it would be overcooked and tough. However, when I tried the stew, I found the meat tasty and wanted to go back for more! I feel it needs to be a bit spicier, so I would ask for that next time. The banchan (veggie sides) were excellent, especially the kimchi which was carefully wrapped in green lettuce so as to not affect the flavors of the other sides in the small plastic container. Filled with umami goodness, the house made kimchi was a highlight of the meal. The only thing was that there was very little of it, so I'd probably order an extra side next time. As you can see, I plan on returning and look forward to trying the other Korean dishes at Mr. Sushi!

My husband is celiac and Mr Sushi has always prepared our food safely. We have been coming here for 4 years and are always happy to the staff is happy and friendly. The food is outstanding. If you want sushi in Arlington MA, go to Mr Sushi. Especially if you are gluten free or celiac. 4 years and we have had no issues

Sushi here is great! It's ready promptly whenever I order it and the website doesn't make a mistake. However, the website often is glitchy. The popup asking whether you are ordering takeout or delivery does not consistently pop up. The website then defaults to 25-45 minutes in the future, which is unfortunate if you as the customer are expecting your food ASAP. Yesterday was a sad workday for me as I came in to pick up my food, but it was scheduled to be ready in 25 minutes. I had an appointment and was crunched for time so I had to ask for a refund and skip lunch. Please give this feedback to your web designer so you don't lose any more business due to a malfunctioning website. This same problem has happened to me months ago.
