Mr Moto Pizza - Pacific Beach

Mr. Moto Pizza was absolutely delicious--a perfect late-night dinner for anyone craving irresistible pizza.

We got pizza from here on the last day family was in town as we thought it would be an easy pick up, go to the house, eat, relax talk and then they could pack.We ordered a large hulk, large pepperoni and large piece of art. We ordered the three different kind of knots to try: pepperoni jalapeño, spinach and ricotta and buffalo chicken.Pick up was ok as there were two of us in the car so one parked illegally by the liquor store and waited with the food while the other one ran in.There was one couple in the store and it took a minute to be acknowledged so I went to the counter and told them what I was there for pick up. I was early and the food was ready.I had ordered online (had to create an account for their site and was super annoyed after checking out I saw there was a 25% off coupon (or some other amount that would have taken a large amount off my bill) for first order which would have saved me a good amount of money. But I didn't see it until too late and paid full price (not worth it).So the pizzas were Hulk $31-pepperoni, bacon, ham, and sausage on our homemade marinara base.large pepperoni $25large piece of art $28.50 Pepperoni, Basil, Burrata, Parmesan, Reggianito and Spicy honey.garlic knots $3.75 each $11.25tax $7.42Total $103.17We get the pizza back to the airbnb and it was warm ish. The piece of art was an oily mess. I assume hot honey would be spicy due to red pepper flakes or jalapeños or srichaa or something but this legit tasted like cinnamon. It was like hmm I am eating pepperoni now it tastes like cinnamon. It was the weirdest flavor combo and not pleasant but it was the pizza I chose so I ate it. My husband who loves pizza would not even eat the left overs. We ended up with some left overs from our family and he ate those.The pizzas are light on sauce (marinara) and toppings. For a full size pizza there was not a lot of meat on it (of course I didn't take photos since I didn't want to be "that" person at the table)The knots were just bread with a small piece of whatever was supposed to be in them.Overall a disappointing experience as so many people seem to rave about how amazing the food is. The one thing I will give them is their crust is tasty but that is about it.Based on this meh experience I can't imagine coming back when it is hard to find parking , light on toppings and expensive. There are so many other pizza places in San Diego (PB even) to spend my hard earned money here.

I came to San Diego on holiday with my family, eager for some fantastic food adventures. Our first stop was Moto Pizza. Now, let me tell you, Carmen was manning the register, and her greeting was colder than a frozen cod. I don't know if Carmen had a tragic day or if her dog decided to run away, but she was about as happy to see us as I am to see raw chicken in a salad!Her rude demeanor was as thick as a burnt crust. When I went to pick up our pizza, she practically hurled the plate at me like it was a game of dodgeball! The pizza slice flew off the plate and landed on the countertop. Did she apologize? Barely! She seemed more annoyed that she had to heat up another slice. And when the replacement was ready, she just abandoned it on the counter like it was yesterday's leftovers.It's an absolute shame because the pizza itself was a delight, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. But Carmen's service was a disaster. Moto Pizza, you've got a gem in that kitchen, but for heaven's sake, train Carmen to be a better server!

I really like Mr. Moto. They have a lot of vegetarian slice options and 1 stuffed vegetarian garlic knot option. I really like the stuffed garlic knots. The staff is really nice and the service is quick if you're just getting a few slices. Super casual spot with small indoor seating. Definitely a good spot.

I placed an order on their website for pickup, which said it would be ready at 4:30 pm. We are right around the corner, so I arrived at exactly 4:30. The woman at the register says they were still waiting in it and needed another 5-10 minutes. This alone was kind of bs, if they were busy then just just tell me to pick it up at 4:40. We patiently waited while several people came in to pick up their pickup orders. They were called by name as soon as the order was ready. After waiting the additional 10 minutes and no pizzas in sight, I asked a different girl at the register where my order was. The girl walks over to the rack and grabs our boxes, which obviously has been sitting there for a while. When I asked why my name wasn't called when it was ready, that it was kinda rotten we had to stand there so long, she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I looked over at the other woman who originally helped us, and she gave me a very insincere, "I'm sorry". Very poor customer service! Pizza was just ok, certainly not as fresh and hot as it should have been.

Editing my review... appreciate the reply and explanation regarding the cheese. Good info. The Mamma moto is my fav pizza here, and it definitely tastes better the usual way, without all the white cheese running along the top. Will try again, because the pizza here is usually fantastic and the customer service is great :)Ordered a medium Mamma Moto pizza. I've ordered this before and it's always been great. This time, the cheese is a runny, drippy mess. I can't help but wonder if it's even okay to eat? 1st picture is from previous order and how it should look. 2nd pic is what I received today. I'd give one star if today was my first order, but I'll give 3 because the previous one was great.

The pizza here is so freakin good. Almost comparable to the pizza in NYC. I got the Mamma Moto and my husband got the California Love and the Diablo. We devoured our pizza slices in less than 5 minutes. We also ordered a stuffed garlic knot (jalapeño, pepperoni, etc) but this one was too spicy for me. I liked the plain ones more. The only downside to this particular location is they do not have any restrooms. You literally can't just be sitting here too long and hanging out bc the lack of restrooms facilities will deter this. Anyhow would definitely come back if we are the area. Too bad they don't have one closer to where we live but then again maybe that's a good thing bc this would be a regular rotation on our places to eat at.

My coworker and I was very excited to have pizza for lunch. The food was alright. The girl that took care of us was not. She seemed like we were a bother to her. We had to ask for the cups to get our drinks. she brought out the food on one plate knowing there was two of us, with attitude. With no additional plates. Had to ask for a rag to clean the table. No customer restrooms. Seeing the kind of pizza we were getting, I wasn't expecting it to be phenomenal but the service that was given... has me determined that I will not be back.

The pizza was delicious. I got two different slices and id highly recommend both. Came out fast and the service was overall good. It had indoor and outdoor seating making a lot of space too.

Greasy, cheap ingredients, dirty shop, rude workers, slow outside delivery, cold pizza - what more can I say? PizzHands down, if I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
