Mr. Huang Clay Pot Chicken Express

We usually get take-out from this place. If there are two or more of you, it's better to get the large one, so you can have 3 add-on for free. Both their chicken and pork ribs are good, and we prefer the spicy flavor. The portion of their food is pretty large, two of us can never finish the large chicken nor the pork rib. The staff are always very friendly when we pick up the food. We never dined there so we don't know what's it's like, but they do have plenty of parking on site. We will probably get take out regularly from here.

The first few times I had this place it was great. It was spicy, rich and delicious with a very flavorful broth. The different toppings were good. Unfortunately the last time I had it, it was very bad. The chicken tasted very old and everything tasted as if it was cooked days before. I was very disappointed and I have not had it since.

All in all its a very simple classic chicken stew with a bowl of rice. I think this is a decent spot for lunch or even to grab a quick bite to eat.The issue is the stew taste a little one dimensional. It is a very soy sauce and salt heavy stew and loses a lot of the other flavors you might expect. The potatoes seemed to be well over stewed and the veggies seemed to have been added afterwards which means their flavors weren't as incorporated into the dish as you would expect.

This place looked interesting and decided to try it. It is a comfort stew style chicken over rice.The spicy ratings are I would caution the spice ratings they mean it. I ordered medium spicy and it was almost too spicy for my family to eat.Dishes are large. So I feel you get good value for your money here. Very satisfying.

Had a fantastic dining experience! The food was delicious with generous portions, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!

$16 for a medium sized bowl of chicken with a ton of sauce. OK TBH- if you're like me, you could just buy the sauce and eat it with your rice . That stew like sauce is amazing and those mushrooms soaked in the sauce, . I got mild and it was already pretty spicy, idk if I would recommend going up bc it is sort of a mala kind of spice where it hits u slowly- unless you like that!I would add some mushrooms and probably say no to the green peppers next time if I can remove. The felt a little undercooked and didn't really go with the dish IMO. I will 100% be back and if I ate pork, I would probably get the short ribs and I will be getting the bone in chicken again.

Drove down 156 Ave NE and spotted this restaurant that I have never seen before. I had to turn my car around and stop by to get a menu cause I love Chinese clay pot dishes. Searched Yelp but couldn't find this place. Turns out this is a soft opening. They have only been open for a few days. Went in to check things out. No menus or business cards, or website yet...that's how new this little restaurant is. Not many seats at the counter in the corner by the window, so it will probably be more of a take restaurant. Since we wanted to support this new business, we decided to try one of their menu offerings. There were only 2 choices of clay pots during their soft opening. Choice of chicken or pork Spareribs. We decided on the spareribs with a mild spice level (one of my SO's favorites)The "mild" spice level definitely has a kick to it, but slowly mellows out after a few bites. The dish is rather soupy with green bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms. We added Napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms and tofu for an up charge. We also ordered a soup to go along with the clay pot dish. The white rice portion was rather small.All and all the meal was tasty and satisfying, but didn't have a Wow factor. We will probably make another visit to try some of their other offerings.

This place was recommended to me by a Chinese woman, so I was super excited to check it out. I'm not too familiar with Chinese clay pot dishes, but there's 3 options here--boneless chicken, bone-in chicken, spare ribs.Both my friend and I got the boneless chicken clay pot combo (w/ passion fruit tea), and they were DELICIOUS! The standard bowl comes with the meat, a bounty of shiitake mushrooms, potatoes cooked to perfection, and cooked-down green bell peppers, and a huge side of rice. I got the "very spicy" option and I didn't find it too spicy, but it was still very enjoyable.We went during lunch, and this could have easily turned into two meals as the portion was very generous, but I was determined to finish it all... I did not eat dinner that day. You order at the kiosk and pick up at the counter when it's ready. All in all a good experience, and I'd definitely come back!

I don't know why there are so little reviews for this place. The portion size for the cost for this place is sooo good. If you get the large chicken pot with 3 free add on and 2 rice, it's enough for 2 people. Food wise, the flavor is there and it taste great. Perfect if you eat it with rice or give it home and eat it with noodle. Come to this place and give it a try.Note: the place is very small. It's mostly for pick up and bring home to eat. They do have a small section for dine in but I wouldn't recommend it since it's sooo small.

Great value for the money and more importantly, absolutely delicious. The chicken was incredibly tender, sauce spicy and savory, and veggies perfectly cooked. The milk tea and milk pudding dessert were incredible as well. One of the more memorable meals I have had lately.
