Was so excited to see this Chinese breakfast/deli open in the Newport hills shopping plaza as there are not many options nearby. Interesting choice of a name and not obvious to see what type of food they serve until you look into it...Similar to Tofu 101 if you have been there but food is more Northern Chinese style (owner from Shan dong?) Here are the things we tried, bear with me as I try to translate food names into English, prices very reasonable:Chinese donut 油条: Great taste though a little more dense than I'd like. Not as airy as Tofu 101 ones but they make these everyday instead of just select days of the week so I'd purchase againTofu pudding 豆花: HIGHLY RECOMMEND, salty Northern style gravy that I have been craving for a long time. Flatbread/Shaobing 烧饼: Several different flavors both salty and sweet. We liked the flakiness and subtle taste of the sesame, pepper ones and will try different ones next timeRed bean mochi cakes 油炸糕: Unfortunately not great, very oily and middle was soggy and undercooked. These usually should be crispy and puffy and almost like a little puff shape rather than like a pancake these turned out to be. Hoping they work on the recipe/cooking method in the future! There were also other lunch options such as signature lamb soup, noodles etc that I will hopefully try out later when I'm in the area again. FYI plaza has plenty of parking but this is a take out place, not really anywhere to sit down to eat

Mr. Goat is our new favorite hole in the wall restaurant! We usually get some fried goods and the dry noodles and the goat noodle soup. Everything tastes super authentic and just like home. The cashier lady is always happy to tell us about new foods that they put out and the service is great. Check out their fridges for the yummy pre frozen dumplings and their chili oil in a jar! It's a good quick meal for sure.

This place just quietly opened a week ago, tucked away in a(n unfortunately dead) shopping plaza and neighborhood! I dropped by and was pleasantly surprised to find warm deli items - namely their signature chicken curry 'pancakes,' pepper beef 'pancakes,' and red bean fried mochi (idk what they're called). They also had fried chinese donut (or, 'youtiao') as well as available soymilk to go with it. Behind the little heated deli, they have their select choice of signature meals - starring goat in these dishes (stews, noodle soups, etc.). They also have a fridge of some ready-to-eat items, more for the adventurous people that like to eat things such as liver, chicken heart, I don't remember exactly what they were but more intestinal prepared/cold-cut dishes. Finally they have a large freezer or two (the first things you'd notice walking in on your right side) with frozen homemade dumplings, their chicken curry and pepper beef pancakes (~$12/6pcs), frozen beef and lamb (the thin sliced kind you use for hotpot, also around 12 or 13 dollars) and more.In review, I ordered the chinese donut, fried red bean mochi, and chicken curry pancakes. The first was pretty good/standard - albeit oily, the red bean mochi was definitely too oily (and not nearly enough red bean filling), but I really liked the savory pancakes. Deli things could have been kept a little warmer, although it would be hard to keep things from drying out. Place was small (a little hole-in-the-wall) but the ladies that worked there were really nice and able to explain the items if needed (although they are also conveniently labeled). One lady spoke english, both spoke mandarin if that helps out some folks. Worth it to check out; I believe they definitely have potential and it's nice to have a new little food spot in this area.Current hours are 7am-5pm except Wednesdays, although they noted that they may soon change their hours to 8am-6pm.*will update review once I try their meal dishes, and give them a bit more time to get on their feet*

We ordered the goat soup noodles and the cumin stir fried noodles to go. 1) It would be have been good if the noodles were placed in a separate container from the soup, as they were soggy by the time we ate them at home. 2) The soup noodles were flavorful (kind of tasted like Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup), but I would've liked more garnish (cilantro and green onion) on top. It wasn't something super exceptional that I would crave again, but it was hearty and filling. Good portion size too. 3) The cumin noodles had way too much spice, to the point where they tasted quite bitter. The flavor was good, but it was just way too much cumin spice for me and my family.

The reviews sounded so strong, but maybe this wasn't my style of food. The beef bun was ok, the curry one was like chalky paste (and I ate it pretty fresh), and the lamb noodle soup was super salty. Will not go back, but may be others cup of tea.

Good service, offerings are a little strange, dumplings were decent but not exceptional. I like the homemade fresh chili hot sauce though.

Hole in the wall comfort food. It can be hard to find because it is in a pretty 'dead' plaza that has other gems too, like Resonate pizza and beer. Anyway, it is across the street from S Mart Asian grocery and all the way towards the end of the plaza near the gas station. The price is very reasonable and folks running the place are friendly. The sour spicy lamb dumpling soup was the best! I look forward to coming back. Tasted fresh and homemade. The lamb noodle soup was pretty good and after adding the chili oil and white pepper (provided on the table), I liked it a lot more. The lamb slices were tender and serving size was pretty large. If you order a few items, this is a shareable portion. Also tried the curry chicken pancake. It was not bad, the pastry was flaky but not my favorite. Looking forward to coming back to try the other items on the menu. By the way they also have lots of uncooked food such as frozen dumplings and dishes (lamb shanks) that you can pick up.

Located at a strip mall on Newport Hills by Cloud 9 Burger. Upon walk in, six tables setup in their dinning room. Clean, bright and greeted by friendly staffs. They specialize in goat soup with or without noodles but also have dumplings, fried donuts, fried pancakes and homemade chill oil. They have a few self serve freezer for frozen dumplings, chickens, goat meats and beef meat for hotpot. They are all Chinese styles. I ordered a few pancakes, both sweet and savor, along with a goat soup with added noodles. All freshly made and steaming hot. The pancakes are fried but not crispy but pretty dense. The beef ones flavored well. The sesame ones have no fillings, a little dry but well pair well with soy milk. The sweet ones are tasty. The goat soup tastes good, a little more salt would be nice. There were a few families seated already and seem enjoying their specialties when I visited.
