How are you Mr Falafel? - I falafel.I'm not normally a fan of falafel, but I enjoyed the falafel that came in my veggie combo at Mr Falafel. No, it did not make me falafel, the falafel were crisp, not dry, and quite plentiful (6). The falafel aroma wafted throughout the kitchen and a coworker called out, "Is that from (insert name of restaurant here)?" "No," I replied, "it's from Mr Falafel."The veggie combo contained hummus, baba ghannouj, salad, tabbouleh, torshi, dolma and falafel. It made for a very colorful and heavy plate. The hummus was ok, the baba ghannouj was fantastic, and I enjoyed the torshi (pickled vegs). I was a little disappointed that pita was not included, although this was quite a substantial plate and the price was not inconsequential- $19.95. The restaurant is very open with tables spaced out. A worker laughed because I thought there was a kiosk to order from and I kept tapping the tablet by the register but there is a person to take your order. I waited about 10 minutes until my food was ready. I think next time I'll dine in so as to confine the falafel aroma to the restaurant.

First time I tried this place. I think they just opened and so they didnt have what I wanted. So I decides to give it another try. I ordered the Shish Kabob and it was delicious! Big chunks of meat with rice. It came with Soup and Salad and Pita? Not sure if its called pita lol.Anyway, if you are in the akokie area. This is in Village Crossing by best buy. Big nice place. Parking isnt an issue. Service was great!Must Try!Happy eating!

Stumbled upon this gem and I'm glad I did. Very friendly staff, ordered Chicken Shawarma Wrap to go. It was amazing , the seasoning of the chicken was spot on, good potion size. Would get this again!

Mediterranean food is high on the trendy list and Mr. Falafel satisfies. Their illuminated sign is tricky to read at night - glancing from a distance, it looks sort of like "Mr. Palatch" - but you're in the right place. The institutional decor of this strip mall storefront boasts about as much charm as a factory lunchroom circa 1955, but their Iraqi cuisine is well worth exploring. Compared to other Middle Eastern cuisines, the flavors here are unique but not intimidating. The menu is pricier than most fast-casual eateries but they give you a ton of food, enough for two to share. We ordered dine-in at the counter and a server (Mrs. Falafel?) brought our food to the table, not all at once but course-by-course. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The aromatic lentil soup is so filling, we ended up taking half home. The baba ghannouj, dusted with sumac and fresh cilantro, was delightfully smoky. You scoop this up with shreds of unleavened flatbread. Theirs is thinner and chewier than pita but just as tasty. The star of the show was the beef shawarma pita. This sandwich was enormous, its fillings juicy and satisfying. Sauces are provided. I'm not a big falafel fan - this staple tends to be too dry for my tastes - but the accompanying fried falafel ball ain't bad when dunked in sauce.

Our contractor from MJ concrete told us to try Mr. Falafel. We ordered from Grubhub and it came exactly how we ordered it. Portions were large and very shareable. We had the chicken kabobs and shawarma entrees. Excellent flavor and tender. The rice, hummus and babaganosh are also delicious. The pitas are different than what we are accustomed too but not bad, reminded me more of a tortilla. Everything was fresh!

Good middle Eastern/ Iraq food. Great service and family friendly place. It's not a chain restaurant so the ambiance is basic but, they always have a football game on the big screen.

This place is so great and so tasty I can't recommend it enough. Some of the entrées on the menu look a little expensive, but trust me, it is a ton of food. The chicken Shawarma sandwich I got was around nine dollars and was easily twice as big as I would've gotten it other places. The staff is super friendly food is incredibly fresh. They really really care about their ingredients and what they're serving people, and you can see that from the instant you walk in. Amazing meal, I will 100% be back very soon.

Good food and friendly service. The Assyrian ladies their are so sweet and willing to serve. They bring your food to your table and are always ready to bring you anything.Burger with shawarma and grilled onion is very good! But it's so stuffed that you basically need to eat it with a fork! The falafel are also very good and made fresh.Place was clean, and ticket time was about 10-15 min. Spent about $20 with tip.
