Mount Bakery Fairhaven

Stopping in on a Saturday morning in December at 9 a.m. with friends, Mount Bakery Fairhaven was popping! Here's our experience.1) Food: "The best scone I've ever had" is how my wife described their marion berry scone. Their breakfast biscuit sandwich was just okay. 2) Drinks: The hazelnut latte was just okay as well. 3) Service: Staff weren't very friendly, but they also had a lot going on. Given that, they did a good job balancing customers and flow. 4) Space: It's a small cafe with indoor tables and a larger outdoor space.

Located in an anonymous shopping center, Mt. Bakery Fairhaven doesn't have much to offer. The decor is very plain; the high ceilings mean the acoustics are poor, making conversation difficult; it's cold and drafty in the cold season. The service is just OK, tends to be very slow, and orders can be incomplete or inaccurate. The food itself is not very good: we've had items come out burned, overly salted, bland. I truly hesitate to say this, but I think this epitomizes the "good enough for Whatcom County" trend in restaurants here.

Everything from the service to the food was spectacular. Can't wait to go back. Fun and funky artwork on the walls and the pastries looked amazing. I had the eggs Benedict with a savory waffle, and it was out of this world.

We came here as a party of 4 on Saturday morning at about 10:30 AM for some brunch. We were able to find seats easily outside. We spent a little less than an hour here, and left with full bellies and satisfying flavors. I ordered a mimosa with framboise, it was a nice addition to the morning. Simple, and good.I ordered their Wild Salmon Benedict, which has been my favorite dish here for years. The smoked salmon they use is solid and enjoyable every time. I like to order my benedict on top of their house foccaccia, and add some tabasco to give it some heat. Their hollandaise is delightful. We always leave with some pastries to go. They have many options. We chose their Parmesan and pesto swirls.

A renowned eatery eluded me, but the spirit of the land guided me to Mount Bakery Cafe. Its facade held tales untold, and an inviting aroma promised mysteries unveiled.There, the Original Benny beckoned -- Eggs Benedict on a waffle. A culinary enigma, it seemed a blend of the rugged and the ethereal. As quickly as the coastal mists appear, the dish was before me. Each bite was a journey through time and lore. So entranced was I, that I forgot the world and even my companion beside me.With a hint of salt and pepper, I tasted the land and sea, but like a mirage, the dish vanished swiftly. Leaving the cafe, a promise lingered in the air -- to return and uncover more of this enigmatic land's culinary tales. A solid 10/10, with dreams of pastries infused with age-old mysteries.

Food was absolutely delicious. We had the Blackstone Benny on focaccia. So good. We also had the lemon curd waffle, really great. The thing I didn't love was they never came by to refill coffee or waters. Otherwise, wonderful little place.

This place was really tasty and liked their twist on Eggs Benedict. Service was quick and the staff friendly.

Mount Bakery will do exactly what you need it to, nothing more nothing less. The food was fine and service was fine.

I came here mid-day on a weekday for a lunch that turned out to be a breakfast for lunch. I am a big fan whenever a restaurant does breakfast into the afternoon. I got their Classic Breakfast and my partner got a Breakfast sandwich. The classic breakfast had an option to get gluten free bread, which I got, and it was delicious. It is always great when a restaurant has a gluten free bread to exchange for their meals and theirs didn't even have an up-charge which I appreciate. The service was good and the food was great. I recommend coming especially during the less busy daytime if you can.
