Mott St is EASILY my top 3 burgers in the Chicagoland area. It is incredibly unique with a flavor explosion of all different kinds of flavors and textures to give you that cohesive umami taste you KNOW you're craving. Beware, it does have a little kick. Now the burger is only sold during specific times during the day if you're dining in the dining room. However, if you're at the bar, fair game anytime of day. That being said, the overall vibe of Mott St is like upscale bar-esc? There's this long table in the middle where you'll most likely be seated that gives you that family style feel (don't worry, there's separate tables too if you'd like a little more privacy). Mott St serves Asian fusion dishes with most of them meant to split between your party. I'd suggest getting a bunch of items to split to try a little of everything. Go crazy and enjoy!

I always love the food at Mott st but did not have the best experience today. It was honestly so hot in there I felt so uncomfortable the entire time I was eating. The service was also very bad. My son's pancakes came without syrup. My husband's steak came without a knife. My eggs Benedict also came without a knife. It took us so long to flag down our waiter to get the check and even when I finally did flag him down it still took a very long time before we finally got it.Overall I was disappointed. I enjoy the food and the flavors but the service and comfort levels left much to be desired.

Cool fusion concept. The noodles were definitely something unique and unlike anything I've has before. The area and ambiance itself is also very warm and welcoming, great summer spot with its open air seating. 4/5 because although the food is very unique and tasty I didn't find it memorable enough to stick in my mind.

The place: we sat outside. Communal seating, so probably not the place to share your deepest, darkest secrets, though there are some smaller tables. Welcoming vibe. Service was pretty exceptional - cleared everything promptly, filled our waters, and food came out quickly. Note: you do have to order the whole meal at once. The taste: we got the hamachi crudo and Brussels sprouts. Both were fine. The crudo was a little underseasoned and therefore underwhelming. I am notoriously anti-salt, so me saying this could have used a salt should be taken with more than a grain of salt. The burger, however, is as good as they say. We split it and we each still had a hearty portion. Balanced taste, interesting textures, messy goodness, properly dressed. It will get all over your hands and face, but it's a small price to pay (on top of the $21) for a hybrid of basic and elevated in one special sandwich. My face: 2 cocktails, 1 beer, plus three dishes = $115 pre-tip. Tipsy smile bc that was my first cocktail in 3 weeks.

Let's get straight to it: The Mott Street Burger is worthy of its hype. It is frequently lauded as one of the best burgers in Chicago, and it really was. When the plate hit the table, I was taken aback by how big it was, and I immediately thought "There's no way I'll be able to finish this!"...and then I inhaled it. You should absolutely get it with the egg. I highly recommend getting a reservation vs. walk-in because it's always pretty busy. Also the menu notes that you gave to order the burger before a specific time, so plan ahead! It's close quarters inside, but you'll be able to hear each other. I want to try the patio.

One of my favorite burgers in Chicago, and unique to many others. The sweet potato shoestrings give it a nice texture and the pickled jalapeños and miso butter onions make it bursting with flavor. The ambiance is great here, especially for brunch on a weekend morning. Have been a few times and will definitely be back.

TOO HYPED UP! Went here for the burger and it was Okay! The sauce is unique for sure and the meat was cooked good but for this place to make it top 10 burgers in Chicago NAHHH TOO HYPED UP! Does not come close to au cheval or hop Doddy. Burger: BURGERS are ONLY SERVED from 5-7pm at the table and you cannot order at the table after that? WHAT A BUMMER. Majority of the people show up here for the burger but the owner does not want customer to just eat burgers and the restaurant be known for the burgers so they have the 5-7pm burger ordering restriction SMH. Add ons: Asked for my egg to be fried instead of oozy and they won't do it! I don't understand why my food preference wouldn't be taken into account for the money I'm paying. Very disappointed! Service: Worst part is the seating. You have to reserve ahead cause it's technically a restaurant other wise you have to wait 1-2hrs until a spot at the bar opens up! Ambiance: Limited table seatings available cause it's small place. If you don't get the small table seatings then you are stuck at the long table sharing space with random people and no privacy! For a popular spot I'm disappointed in the seating structure, reservation structure and not able to order burger at the table and only at the bar! Very expensive spot $100 for everything in the picture!Pro: good clean bathroom, chili cauliflower was good and so were the beers!

My first time trying this restaurant. Our friends had suggested it for brunch. It's a beautiful casual place with indoor and outdoor patio seating. We sat outside for the weather is nice. The menu offers a variety of fusion Asian popular dishes. Our group decided to share a couple appetizers, the guacamole dip, doughnuts, kimchi hash, and sweet longanza. All were good, but we all decided the guacamole dip was the best. Kimchi hash was a bit dry and hardly tasted the kimchi. For mains we ordered the Mott burgers, salmon torta, kimchi fried rich, and shared coconut Pancakes. The burgers were delicious! I was surprised they had a spicy kick to them. The kimchi fried rich was delicious and the coconut Pancakes were a good dessert. The unique flavors in the hibiscus butter and syrup was good! We were all so full. The drinks we had were ok. I was disappointed with the lychee margarita. It just tasted like a regular margarita but they just added the lychee as garnish. I was hoping they would combine the flavors. I just ate the lychee to acquired the sweetness otherwise the marg is sour. Overall, this was a good place to try different varieties of Asian dishes.

Food - 5/5Service - 5/5Ambience - 4/5Value - 4/5Our waiter was very nice and gave fantastic recommendations. The food came out quickly. Everything was great, but definitely get the mushrooms! Such rich flavor, I could have eaten spoonfuls of the miso butter sauce. The tables were close together and the a/c was blasting on my back, but we didn't have to yell to have a conversation.

We were first one in the door at 4:30p Saturday. Sat in 2 seater by window. Place filled up fast over next 20 minutes. Food was great. We split the Mott burger, watermelon, garlic rice, and everything shrimp. The burger was unique in flavor and a meal in itself. Splitting it was perfect. The shrimp dish was tasty and the rice was good. The watermelon wasn't anything special but it was very ripe and refreshing. To me the star of the meal was the ricotta doughnuts for dessert. I could have had 2 orders! Service was fine but I wonder if it was because we were very early diners.Ambiance is another star of this restaurant. Small but interesting and vibrant. Outdoor patio looks pretty cool but we elected the inside because it was very warm late afternoon. All in all a great experience (except the heavy traffic on way in to the city). No traffic coming back home so it evened out.
