We ordered the butter chicken, hariyali chicken, and a side of garlic naan as a meal. The butter chicken came with a generous portion of rice on the side as well. The butter chicken had tender cubes of chicken with a rich, decadent tomato based sauce. It was perfect with rice and garlic naan. Really I'd wanna put this curry on everything because of how delicious it was.Additionally the hariyali chicken was a delightful tangy chicken dish with a creamy herby sauce on top. This chicken was also very tender as it didn't require too much effort to cut through the pieces. This dish also comes plated with biryani rice which is a nice additional hit of flavor. One garlic naan order comes as one giant piece cut into 4 pieces. Not the most garlicky naan I've had but it had great crisp and chew which made for a great vessel for lopping up some more sauce. The space is small and they don't have their own parking lot. But across the street has plenty of parking with free parking after 4pm.

When I noticed the health department's GOOD not excellent rating we still proceeded as we have heard good things about this place. I witnessed more than my share of violations, including reusing plates and cutlery that had been on the table and touched by patrons and just things that were less than hygienic in plain sight. The noise level is high, you feel as if you are eating halfway in the kitchen with all the activity that takes place in the public area including crashing dishes and a bus station out in the open. The food was very mediocre and the service was indifferent. You can tell lots about an Indiam place by how much care they take with their chai and it was less than stellar. I was full of tech bros nary a woman to be seen, big tables of guys on lunch breaks. The ambiance is a little this and that. I would not go back. The food was maybe grade C and from what I saw in front of customers that would have anyone with a food handler's license blanch I would question what goes on in the back. A huge wholesale food order was being hauled in by the staff in the middle of lunch as if there was nothing to timing such activities around patrons.Parking is challenging and the road noise for Westlake adds to the TV and such in the restaurant. Why does Seattle have so many lousy Indian places and so few that are worth returning to?

First time stopping in after my dental visit across the street and I was not disappointed. It is now a must-stop when in Westlake. The malai kofta was fresh and beautifully seasoned, roti was thin and airy with a roasty char, rice was plentiful and perfectly cooked with ghee and cumin and the veg samosa was a delightful savory pastry.

This restaurant is on a sharp corner on the side of a busy street. I've seen/smelled it so many times so I have been looking forward to trying it!The butter chicken and garlic naan was pretty good. I like how soft and chewy the naan is! However, the portion was quite small and for a fairly high price! A little disappointing :(I don't recommend the paneer tikka. It's really dry and a little tough. Not sure if their other paneer dishes are like this, but this is not the type of paneer I was expecting!

I love their tandoori chicken. We order that often. It's very different from traditional tandoori chicken and has a special chatpata flavor. Plus the biryani rice on the side is a bonus. I like their biryani too which has a unique taste.

My family and I are so happy we found this place! Such amazing food and service. Chill ambiance. We've tried a few spots in the area and we think it's the best Indian food around! Definitely give them a try(:

I ordered two biryanis for takeout - veggie and chicken. Not good at all. It was too yellow in color. The chicken biryani had some guest appearance of chicken and it had peas! Chicken dum biryani with peas!! The veggie biryani had too much capsicum. The service was good though. The food was ready on time to be picked up. Giving two stars only coz the pickup experience was okay. But I'm not going back ever again.

In a super interesting triangle spot off of Westlake is this wonderful Indian restaurant! I ordered the tandoori platter with garlic naan and my wife got the tikka masala and gulab jamun (not pictured). We did take out so no note on the ambience or service besides being prompt and ready when I came to pick it up. The tandoori platter had a lot of meat! The lamb boti was pretty dry, lamb kebab had lots of spices on it, and the chicken and shrimp were the stars of the platter. The naan was pretty massive but tasty. I enjoyed the flavor of the Tikka masala. We added chicken and it was very juicy and not dried out. The gulab jamun was very sweet and had a strong cardamom flavor

We were walking down lake Union and looking for a place to eat. We saw positive reviews for this place and decided to swing by. Let me start with the positives which is only one to be honest. The service was prompt and courteous. The masala tea was flavorsome but when we asked if there is a free refill we were denied. There are other Indian restaurants in the area that offer at-least one free refill. Now coming to the food, the tandoori platter was way too salty and lacked flavor. The lamb had a weird smell, and the coconut curry and nan were average. The ambiance of the place is dated. Save your hard earned moolah and give this place a miss.

Mother India Cuisine was a perfect stop after a show in Seattle, for a bite to eat before starting our drive back to Portland. My daughter declared the Butter Chicken the best she's ever had. She was literally scraping the dish to finish the sauce. I don't usually like naan bread but the garlic naan was soft and light, yet crisps on the outside, and the garlic topping was soooo good. The dal soup app. appeared to be just broth and lentils with bits of garlic and curry. Never quite seen that before... but maybe there was a more complex typical to me version I didn't see. My tandoori was good, but if you go, let them know spice level. I said 0-mild for my daughter's dish and it was 0. Perfect for her. I did not say anything for my tandoori and it had a fair amount of heat. I decided to be on the safe side and wait until I got home to eat it, where it was a perfect spice level, for not having to drive 3 hours :). The basmati rice is perfection and the marsala chai tea delicious, as well as not being too sweet. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside of the super cool I'm guessing 100-year+ old building on the triangular block. There is plenty of parking with a lot across the street.
