Moshi Moshi Sushi & Izakaya

Hard to see what others saw here. TL;DR: don't bother. Go elsewhere. There's tons of better places in Seattle. Food: bento was decent value and quality, but the nigiri platter was absolutely the worst nigiri I've had anywhere in the PNW - and potentially the world (it was legendary how bad it was).Service was ok - there was only one other person there when we were seated (1215pm reservation via OpenTable), but when we left most of the tables were taken. The service definitely degraded over our time there. One solid example was when they asked to clear my bento when I was clearly not done (my partner made a comment to me about that - which is rare because it must have stood out to leave an impression).Ambience - not much of one to speak of.Verdict: not sure how this place had such high ratings. Maybe non-calibrated folks who don't come here for the namesake dish (sushi)?I'm sure the izakaya and/or other things are good. Tonkatsu wasn't bad, ditto for spicy tuna and the veggie tempura.I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants even "mediocre" sushi.

Came here with a group after walking in the area. Had a little wait but they estimated the wait perfectly so we could get a drink nearby. The staff where super friendly. We sat in the upper loft. On a cold night it was nice and warm. The noise level was not to bad even at a center table. Food was great. I had some soup what came hot and perfectly seasoned. A few of the party had sushi and it was flavorful and well made.

This is quickly becoming our go-to spot for sushi. We've been here twice and the service is great. Helpful staff, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a lot of options if you are wanting something other than sushi. I've had the Yakisoba which was great! I've also had a few vegetarian sushi options. All have been really good. We've sat at the sushi bar and the window bar. Party of 2 with no reservations and we always get seated in these spaces right away. If you have a larger party or want a table, reservations are probably a good idea.

Had the pleasure to dine here solo yesterday evening and it was quite the treat. Seated at the sushi bar, the ambiance is perfect for a date, families, or if you are feeding the craving for sushi for one like myself. They have the capabilities to accommodate all. Ordered the sushi and sashimi platter for one chefs choice. Everything served melted in my mouth and was fresh to taste just as if were straight from the sea which is how it should be. Ikura was topped with quail eggs such a delightful treat. Uni was market priced straight from Japan. Yummy. Dessert was gluten free yuzu citrus ice cream made with rice flour mochi- such a unique flavor and must try. Will definitely be back here in the future for more. Thanks for a great time!

Came in for dinner around 9, and this place did NOT DISAPPOINT! The star was the fatty tuna and the King Salmon.It's expensive, no doubt but the presentation and quality matches the price. Definitely recommend!

Solid neighborhood sushi spot. Good vibes inside, always clean and warm. If I have craving this is a good quick spot to go to. Good happy hour too if you're around!

Pretty good sushi spot. Cute vibe inside. Good California roll. The scallions in the Negihama roll were overpowering. Couldn't even taste the fish. Rumi roll was disappointing. It looked yummy, but Lacked flavor and the tempura flakes were like sawdust. The Tonkatsu Katsu was really good though. And my hubby really enjoyed the Tamago nigiri. Another favorite was the white wine. A great Portuguese wine at a sushi spot...who knew!

WOW! This sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. I had:- Seattle Roll -- huge pieces of orange, fresh salmon. All the flavors and textures melded perfectly. - Negitoro Roll -- WOW! I have not had such a tasty negitoro roll before. The texture and flavor was incredible and perfectly balanced in this simple roll. - Saba Nigiri -- Tasty. Not as pickly as I usually prefer. Would have preferred a slightly smaller rice ball. But it was quite good. - Aji Nigiri (Spanish mackerel) -- Sooooo fresh, so good!- Agadashi Tofu -- both GF and vegetarian, super tasty. Great service, too. I wish I could go back tonight before I leave seattle!!

The server was a bit distracted but overall not terrible. The food was amazing the rolls were very fresh! The inside was very cute! It was also relative decently priced for really fresh

I want this restaurant to please hear this: I walked in on a Sunday evening, just my husband and I. The hostess asked me if we had reservations, we said no. She made a show of how tough it might be for us to get a table. Restaurant is half full.She seats us anyway.After we're seated, she comes up and tells me the table is reserved and we have to move.We move.She does this one more time before we order. We move.We ordered and ate, everything about that was normal. My point is, we got huffs and puffs and shuffled around- but no one ever came in for those tables. Or any other tables while we were there. I won't go back bc I was made to feel so unimportant. For what?It was truly bizarre behavior.
