Mosaic Restaurant & Bar

My family likes to stay at this hotel when they come to San Diego, and they really enjoy the breakfasts (which were comped with their stay this time). The patio is really pretty, with gorgeous landscaping, and I feel like I'm on a staycation when I come here to visit them.I wouldn't run over here for brunch if you're not staying here - but if you are, or are looking for a place outdoors for brunch for a big group, it's really great to hang out here. Alexandra was a really friendly and efficient server. I had scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (which are really little deep-fried potato cubes) and Greek yogurt (I would skip the last - I ordered too much anyway, but the fruit wasn't that exciting). Coffee was good. Will happily come here again the next time the fam visits.

Curdled Mac and cheese, slow service and it was empty. If your a manager and your ok with this ....

This is the restaurant in the lobby of Doubletree by Hilton. The prices are high, the food is of poor quality, the takeout meals are unceremoniously dumped into a box and served cold. They are definitely taking advantage of the fact that most travelers are tired and unable to grab a decent sandwich within a mile. I see exactly why the trash bins are chock full of taco bell wrappers, since it is close by.

Service was prompt but the food was simply awful. I placed an order to go. The food came out quick, way too quick and I then saw why. The Calamari was disgusting, as it was rubbery and tasteless. It was almost like it was cooked while still frozen. The harvest salad was so bland and lack enough dressing. It's been the worst meal I had during my trip. I threw it all away.

Terrible restaurant. I asked water multi times but servers were doing their jobs, didn't response any.

Stayed at The Doubletree last night. Went down to the bar for a couple drinks and to order some food to go. The bar staff was great, very nice and attentive. Ordered a burger and fries to go to eat in my room. Unfortunately after getting settled in my room I went to eat my burger and I think they forgot to cook it, it was so rare I couldn't eat it. Very disappointed.

Mosaic Restaurant & Bar is located in the Double Tree Inn. It's patrons comes mostly from the guest staying at the DT Inn. I ordered the Capallini Shrimp Pasta. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. Not over cooked to where the shrimp is hard and rubbery. The sauce consisted of whole cloves of garlic,mushrooms, onions and tomatoes in olive oil. The sauce was excellent. The only disappointment with this dish was the pasta (3/5). It was soft, pasty and over cooked. The pasta stayed clumped. If the pasta was cooked al dente, I would've rated this dish 5/5. I also had the Wedge salad (no pic). I ordered it without blue cheese, replaced with ranch dressing. This salad was excellent. The wedge salad came with heirloom cherry tomatoes, ample amount of bacon bits over not one wedge, but two ice berg lettuce wedges. There could've been more ranch dressing drizzled on the salad, but I still would rate this selection 5/5!I would recommend Mosaic Restaurant for the following reasons.- the food is very good. For my dish, hopefully the pasta was not intentionally over cooked. I'll give the benefit of doubt.- the price for food is actually reasonable. More reasonable than I expected.- the service was excellent. My server was attentive and caring.Mosaic Restaurant is an excellent place to eat, especially if you're staying at the Double Tree Inn.

The literal worst tasting bland food. I ordered a Cesar salad with chicken. Basically they just put some romaine lettuce w cherry tomatoes and threw some dressing on. The chicken was pre frozen and they couldn't even put any seasoning??? I don't get it. They put zero effort. My husbands pasta was nasty. Also, zero seasoning and pretty sure it was canned sauce. Over priced. I'll never eat here again. How about add some seasoning to your food and show you care about making dishes.

Great meal! My steak was cooked perfectly! I always get rare and it's not easy to get correct. They subbed carrots for me too. The mashed potatoes were soooo creamy. Everything was so well seasoned. My server was kind and attentive and thanked the chef for me. The only downside is the prices. YIKES. Glad it was on per diem

Staying at the hotel for a work trip. Food (dinner) was good and HH drinks are a good deal. It wasn't busy when I ate here but the negative reviews don't seem warranted. Granted, I wouldn't suggest making a trip here only to eat but if you're staying at or near the Doubletree Del Mar you can find a good meal here.
