Look I haven't made a post in a whileBut Nashville just stopped me dead in my tracksSo I'm at the rental car desk and I ask where to eat...Monells Note this is the same place my cousin recommendedNow this is a family style eating experienceYou conversing with other families .... Laughing...really enjoying the family experienceAll I can say is GET THEREFried chicken, fried potatoes, cheesy grits, bacon, country ham, sausage, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, scrambled eggs, pancakes, corn pudding, homemade peach preservesEndless all you can eatI'm about to die from the food being so scrumptious Enjoy you will not be disappointed(I didn't get any pictures)

Monell's is a must-visit! We arrived on a Saturday morning, and found a line of people already waiting. Despite the crowd, the wait for us was reasonable, taking only 25-30 minutes to be seated.One of Monell's unique aspects is its communal dining experience. You'll be seated at a large table with strangers, but the atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our table had room for 12 people, so if your party is smaller, you'll have the chance to meet new people.The food was absolutely fantastic! The servers brought out platters of delicious Southern staples, and we all passed them around the table. The biscuits and gravy were a standout, but everything from the potatoes to the breakfast meats was absolutely delicious. Amazingly, you can eat as much as you want and stay as long as you desire.I can't wait to return and experience Monell's again soon!

What an awesome experience and tasty food in Nashville! This was our first experience with family-style dining with strangers and had such a great time!The staff was super welcoming and friendly, it felt as though we were being welcomed into someone's house. Even the building and decor felt that way as well.We came in for lunch and were seated at a large table with another party. It was nice to meet some other people (funnily enough, they were also from California like us) and share some conversation with them.The food and drink were super good, literally the definition of comfort food. Our personal favorites were the coleslaw (I usually don't like coleslaw), mac and cheese, fried chicken, and the corn bread. There was so much food and on top of that, the experience is all-you-can-eat. The prices are super fair too.Definitely spend some time here at Monell's if you're in Nashville. I also recommend just putting the phone away during the dinner (they don't usually allow it at the table anyway) so you can really embrace the moment and have a good time with strangers, you never know who you'll end up meeting!

Five stars! What a great experience! AYCE fried chicken meal at Monell's. You enter the landmark building & are seated with 12 people at a communal table. Fried chicken is the main start of this meal. It comes with sides such as cheddar cheese grits, corn grits, bacon, sausage, potatoes, ham, cinnamon rolls, biscuits & white gravy, pancakes, and more! Meals are served with sweet tea, coffee, unsweetened tea. Take a serving and pass to the left!The servers constantly check to see if the table has enough food! You will get your fill and the dishes never run out! Fun meeting people who live locally, across the nation, and even from Canada. Staff are fast and friendly!

What a charming place. It is Family style. You sit at tables w strangers (i think up to 12. Great way to meet new people. No phones allowed at the table, so like the good ol days when people converse w each other. I am not a breakfast person so the food was okay for me, my BF loved it as did everyone else.

I like the family style seating and the idea of eating with strangers. It makes you connect to people and get to know people from all over.The wait is long. There were just 2 in my party and we waited well over an hour. The staff is nice and friendly/.The food is all you can eat. There are lots of meat choices and side choices. Drink options are water / tea/ fruit tea. I love the variety. The only option for dessert was strawberry shortcake and it was very good.

Hold up - stop searching for a place to eat. You're coming here today.Easily the best dining experience I had in Nashville. Walked in by myself thinking I was going to make a to-go order. Instead, I'm led to the living room where theres three 10-person tables. I'm seated at one that isn't full yet and they proceed to bring out the biggest serving bowls of cinnamon rolls, biscuits, gravy, cornbread, coleslaw, and beets. Surely this has to the be the whole meal...Wrong. Server tells us to pace ourselves because those are just the starters.He then proceeds to bring out bowl after bowl of fried chicken, pot roast, stuffed shells italian style, mashed potatoes, corn mash, collard greens, green beans, and candied apples. Everything is spectacular - had to hit seconds on everything. Bring your appetite or maybe skip a meal before you come here.

Fell in love with southern food when I lived in Texas, but now that I'm back in Los Angeles there's a definite shortage of good southern food. So when I came to Nashville I was dying for some good southern food.Monell's sits inside a historic home built in 1898 in the middle of Germantown. It's definitely a unique family style dining experience. Once you check in, you are seated at a large dining table with complete strangers. All food is served in family style, shareable portions. For drinks, there is sweet tea, unsweetened tea, water and lemonade to choose from.The food is AMAZING, and the servers will continue to bring you food for as long as you can stomach more. The fried chicken is among the best I've had. My favorite sides were biscuits and gravy, Mac and cheese, and the corn casserole. I came on a day that they were serving meat loaf and chicken and dumplings. All scrumptious, can't even pick a favorite to be honest.Definitely make this a must visit for your next trip to Nashville!

A truly unique southern experience. Come open minded and hungry. At first we were surprised and nervous about sharing a table but everyone is so sweet and welcoming. The staff really showed us the sweetest southern hospitality and it felt like a heart warming dinner at grandmas house. We loved being able to try all the different dishes and side dishes. We left absolutely stuffed.
