Moms chicken and waffles

Located inside the bar I 31, Mom's Chicken and Waffles is a must-try if you're in the area. I was there last Friday to watch the end of a hockey game and decided to order some food. I got the loaded fries with fried chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge! At first, I was a bit shocked by the price, but when the food arrived, I couldn't believe how large the portion was. I ate maybe a quarter of it. I definitely recommend ordering food if you visit U 31. I'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu.

I was first introduced to Moms Chicken and Waffles when she was in Pacific Beach. I am glad to see that she has continued the ritual here in North Park with their terrific fried chicken tenders.In lieu of waffles and chicken tenders this time around, I went for the OG chicken sandwich for $15.99. The sandwich came with a juicy and seriously well fried pair of plump chicken tenders. Not only was it crispy and juicy, but it was well seasoned. Well done!The sandwich came on a lightly toasted soft brioche bun with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, with mayo and chipotle sauce. The combination of ingredients and flavors was delicious. They are located inside the U31Bar of North Park, San Diego. There is plenty of seating inside and on the outside patio. The service provided by Mom's Chicken and Waffles is very friendly. Nice people.

A hidden gem tucked away in the back of the U-31 Bar - we almost missed it twice but luckily the bartender guided us to the right spot!- PARKING -North Park is usually bustling with people, which makes parking pretty difficult. We had to circle around a few times before landing a spot on an adjacent street - be mindful of any time constraints!- SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT -They have a sign outside that says it's inside U-31, but when you enter, there's no additional signage that guides you to the back corner. We barely saw the kiosk and that was after the bartender pointed it out. We suggested they have wayfinding after you enter the bar, or at least a banner on the back wall that points you to the right area. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and was very receptive to our feedback!- FOOD -The Sunrise: This immediately caught my eye on the menu, with the Chicken and Waffle sandwich including a sunny side up egg and bacon! Super flavorful, great balance of savory and sweet all in one! Would highly recommend getting this one!Trio of Sliders: Nice fluffy buns, nicely fried chicken too! I do wish they utilized chicken thigh in some of their menu items, as I think it would bring up the flavor profile! My personal favorite was the Honey Sriracha.Chicken & Waffle Poppers: Bite sized goodness! Loved the crispyness of these and again, amazing balance with the savory and sweet combo.Chili Garlic Wings: I love it when places say things are spicy and they're ACTUALLY spicy! These gave a nice kick, to which their ranch helped cool down the spice. - OVERALL -If I'm ever in North Park and want a quick bite to eat, I'll definitely be routing to Mom's Chicken and Waffles!

Fried chicken is one of my most favorite foods in the world. This weekend I was craving chicken and waffles. Not a usual thing and the hubs has never had the combination! Shocked, I had not realized that he's never had chicken and waffles, we had to go get some! Luckily we came across Mom's and the reviews were good! Was not sure exactly where Mom's was and found it inside U-31 bar. There were not too many people in there day drinking. Where you order Mom's chicken is in the back by the North Park wall. The gentleman was very nice telling us the menus were slightly different and explaining what he did have available. They have lots of yummy options, but we came for the chicken and waffles. Few options for chicken and waffles, I of course decided on the Bacon Waffle plate. Bacon infused Belgium waffles?!? Yes, please!They have a nice area in the back outdoors, but we opted to sit inside at the high tops. The plate takes a bit to make which I didn't mind. Everything came out hot and fresh and oh so yummy! Generous portion, I loaded up the waffles with butter (slightly frozen) and a ton of syrup and took a bite with the chicken. The hubs was not sure at first, but before I knew it, he was gobbling everything up faster than I was! Safe to say we absolutely loved it! I could eat this every weekend! 2024:13

I met up with some friends here back in June when they first opened inside of U-31. I ordered the chicken and bacon waffle plate and the loaded chicken fries! The chicken and waffle came with 2 buttermilk chicken tenders, a bacon infused Belgian waffle, and butter, and syrup. The waffle could be crispier, but the chicken was huge and tender. My favorite was was the chicken fries though! There were little pieces of fried chicken on top with my sauce choice- honey sriracha! It had a sweet, yet spicy flavor and was very addicting. My friends liked it too. They got the sliders, poppers, chicken sandwiches, and some drinks. Everything is made to order, so expect a wait. I enjoyed my time here and liked the patio area a lot!

Chicken here hits! I love me a good chicken and waffle. Chicken sliders are also so tasty, has the right flavors and kick to it. Service was great, gave suggestions and was very attentive, fun to have conversation with. It's placed within a bar, so drinks are available too but what made it even more fun was the ping pong table and photo booth.

The proprietors of a fried chicken joint that used to operate in PB have relocated the business inside U-31 in North Park. Mom's Chicken & Waffle (not plural) is now the food service arm of this neighborhood bar. There was a sidewalk sign indicating its presence within U-31, however if you aren't following on social media, then most customers would be unaware of this change. When I walked in, I approached a bartender to try and place an order. She redirected me to a small stand located on the opposite side. That was where a worker from Mom's Chicken & Waffle was accepting orders.Most of the menu offerings were the same as in the previous location where the business name was different. Two pages featured categories of chicken and waffles, chicken sandwiches and tenders, burgers and hot dogs, shareable appetizers, and sides. I selected the Trio Slider Flight which was priced just under $20. A crispy tender was served on a brioche bun topped with tomato and a fried pickle. The sauce choices were buffalo, mango habanero, original, honey sriracha, and spicy chipotle aioli. I picked the middle three for my set of sliders.An order number was provided after I paid. I sat down at a high-top table to wait for my food which was brought to me in about 15 minutes. I took the take-out container home where I consumed the sliders. The buns were very soft and pillowy. The tomato slices were large and matched or exceeded the diameter of the buns. The fried pickle was missing as none of the sliders had that ingredient. The tenders were crispy although the size was small compared to some hot chicken shops. Of the three sauces, the honey sriracha had the best flavor profile with its sweet heat.Perhaps one of the four variations of chicken and waffles would have been a better choice? For the chicken sliders, the quality for the price was average. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my take-out experience at Mom's Chicken & Waffle.

The chicken and waffles were good. This is the first time I had waffles with bacon inside. And the first time, I put syrup on my chicken. Very good. Moms is inside a bar in the back. To get your drinks, you have to go to the bar counter. Staff were very friendly. There is plenty of seating.

If you've eaten at Rhythms Chicken and Waffles before this place has the same menu and the sliders are the perfect meal rly hits the spot when craving some fried chicken.Can't wait to have their chicken and waffles soon.

The sliders are aaaaamazing!!!! I dream about its deliciousness daily. Been back already twice after the first visit only a few weeks ago. Brian is so nice everytime and they have comedy night on Wednesdays!!!!
