The atmosphere at Moira is very artsy cool. The mural on the wall really sets the mood, as do the red lights. We sat on the patio which was a little quieter. We ordered a few different things, but I especially liked the crispy rice and the ahi poke nachos. Both were absolutely delicious! Cocktails were delicious, too. This is a great place of your looking to eat a little late. They are opened until 2 am on weekends.

Service : 1.5 / 5Food (3 Sushi rolls + Pork Gyoza) : 4 / 5An overall aggravating service experience and will not be returning,We (a party of 2) visited on Wednesday, July 6th around 9pm. Upon entry, it was relatively busy but the server / host informed us the wait for a table would be approx 10 minutes when we requested a table vs bar. The bar seating was plenty open and we could see a few seated parties at tables were readying to leave. As we stood in the entry without much room as others entered to be seated, we watched 1 of the 2 servers move a group of employees not on the clock, to another table that had been cleared. Why they moved from the bar is unknown. And we know they were employees because one announced it to us in a friendly exchange. After waiting a total of 20 minutes, the server looked at us and told us we'd be seated at the bar anyway (despite our table request). We were then promised water and she never came back and we were even unable to pull her attention even as she would walk by in dining. We also noticed that the groups of employees off the clock who were dining-in seemed to be catered to above all others. In hindsight, sitting at the bar was our heaven-send because we placed our appetizer and sushi order with one of the chefs that promptly asked us if we were ready and we received our food prior to even being spoken to, by who we assumed was a bartender that had to come out to help the dining. He got us our waters and our cocktails that we ordered through him came as we were halfway through our dinner (while eating slowly, trying to wait for them). The gyoza and three sushi rolls that we ordered were fantastic and even made to our custom request due to food allergy. Our appreciation is directed toward the sushi chefs and fry cook.Interestingly enough, we saw the initial server when she decided to come back to take our credit card at the end of our meal. The experience was a let down. A missed opportunity here because the food is astronomically better than the service.I worked in the food industry, I understand restaurants can be busy and servers can be overwhelmed but the lack of friendliness, welcoming and attention to guests was a deterrent.

Being in downtown we thought this place would've been improving since our last visit Upon arriving it almost seemed our server was unhappy we were there, service was slow even though we were 1 of 3 tables and we were some the first to come when openingFood has really fallen off in the last few months Miso soup tasted watered down and the sushi rolls were falling apartHope this place shows drastic improvement soon

The food here is good and we loved coming here because of the ambience, food, and good vibes. The last couple visits though have been bad.The service is HORRIBLE. It starts with the uninviting look you get from the hostess when you walk in to the non existent service you get from the person that is supposed to be your server. We have sat without drinks, napkins, and utensils with no server insight. There is a cart they keep fully stocked with utensils though so we have ended up grabbing them ourselves.... The food is good but the horrible customer service has kept us away.

The food is good, probably not the best sushi I've ever had, but good enough to fill a void. They have a few veg options that are clearly marked with a leaf. They said "plant-based," and I am not sure if that means vegetarian or vegan, but I do appreciate at least some effort. I had a veggie roll, which was ok, but not something I am going to find myself craving. My friend and I also split fried tofu and potato croquettes. The croquettes were a little weird, and I felt like they were missing something. The tofu were fried sticks, and they were fine, although I didn't care much for the dipping sauce. There was nothing I ate that knocked my socks off, but it also wasn't bad.We sat at the bar, and the service was friendly and fast. The hostess who sat us was also our server, and she came around regularly to check on us. She was very friendly and willing to help. They have a pretty decent cocktail and sake menu, but we didn't have any. I could see going back to try one of their specialty cocktails, although it didn't appear there are any discounts on those for happy hour. Speaking of - the happy hour is pretty expansive. Monday-Thursday it is from 5pm-11pm, but the weekends (Friday/Saturday) are only late night happy hour. They are open until 2am on the weekends, though, so if you're drunk on RoRo and craving some sushi, this is the place. The interior of the place feels very hip and chic. My friend joked that she didn't feel cool enough to be there. I liked the decor, and if the weather works, there is also a nice little outdoor area to sit as well.Like I said - it is solid, but also not something I would crave like some other sushi places I've visited.

Fun vibes but not very spacious. We definitely got lucky to get seated as quickly as we did. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sushi was good but definitely not top 10 best like they have hanging on the wall. Perhaps sushi just has a different taste or style than back in California where I am from.. We ordered the calamari. Although the flavors were amazing it had very little calamari and more vegetables. Everything else was just ok. Wouldn't be against coming here again but definitely wouldn't if I had the chance to pick something else. Everything else was just very bland.. nothing exciting and besides the dragon rolls presentation nothing else was memorable.

Came here last night and it was really good! The pricing is a little high but the quality was amazing. On average the rolls were 15-20. Really loved the ambiance as well and that they had a bar. Also the location it's at is great, because afterwards you can enjoy the Roosevelt area. I'm giving it 4 stars because the service was super slow. It did pick up while we were there but other servers weren't really willing to help out because when I called them they would just ignore it. Also tip is added automatically to the bill, which isn't a big deal to me but can for others especially if the service is the way that it was all the time.
