Ok, as promised, we came back to this location in hopeful expectation that it would be way better than when they first opened... and I was pleasantly surprised!!! The donuts were soooo good! We ordered a dozen so we tried every flavor they had that day. And the quality was *chef's kiss* just like the location at Convoy. We will def be back. We even tried their boba and it was delish! The place looked neater and didn't have that weird smell anymore. But there is a lot of unsightly boxes shoved near the back. Maybe a curtain could fix that? IdkThe service was slow, but the one at the till was obviously being trained that day, so totes understandable. And they were very polite so it made the wait more tolerable!

I was excited to find out they opened a Mochinut close to home ! I stopped by on an afternoon and it was empty . The cashier didn't have the friendliest customer service and just took my order . The selection is limited but my favorite is the churro mochi! Which was delicious! I will return mainly because of the churro mochidonut that I love not for the service specifically .

I visited this place earlier this week and tried the Original, Ube, and Mango flavors. I then came back because they were really good and I craved more.I went back in search of the Ube and Mango flavors, but their flavors had changed within days and so I ended up trying three new flavors: Matcha, Pocky Berry, and Churro. There is normally one person at the front of the store. The flavors of mochinut are on display at the front and, above the counter, there are large TVs displaying the Korean hot dog options they serve and their assortment of drinks. Ordering is pretty straightforward, although their card reader looks a little strange. If you have a tap card, you can hold it right on top of the machine. The two times I've been there, I've only seen one person working so I wonder if that's all they ever have. There are little tables to sit at and wait for your order to be completed or to eat. If you order a Korean dog, you have to wait because those are made to order (the wait is not very long.) If you order mochinuts, they box and serve them right there like any other bakery. On the mochinuts:The consistency is really delightful -- chewy and light, without any of the density I normally connect with my least favorite donuts -- and I love how easy it is to pull the mochinut apart into pieces to split with others. This makes it really easy to try different flavors with other people. My mom wishes they incorporated more of the flavors into the dough itself (right now the base seems to be the same for all mochinuts with the only difference being their glaze on top), but I actually enjoy the simple chewy dough with the flavor separated on top. It makes the flavors not overwhelming like a lot of specialty desserts can end up being.I'd rank the flavors I've tried as follows:1. Ube - I am always a fan of ube. I consider it always a safe option and the ube mochinut did not fail to deliver.2. Original - Chewy goodness with simple and pleasant flavors. 3. Mango - Pleasantly fruity flavor. The topping is a little stickier than the others so be careful when pulling this one apart.4. Pocky Berry - Similar in fruitiness and texture to the Mango, sweet5. Churro - Pretty much just your basic cinnamon and sugar coating. If you like churros then you'll probably like this.6. Matcha - I'm not a fan of matcha so I can't say this is a bad mochinut, it's just not my preference. All of them had that perfect texture and felt so good to eat!

The mochinut donuts are good but something is off at this location. The Korean hot dogs are only available at certain times and maybe even days? The last three times that I have tried to get them, they told me it wasn't available at this time. Not too long after just opening, I asked for a flavor that was on the display board and they told me they didn't have it. I had to ask well, are you making more? I got a "yes". How much longer? "5 minutes". Can I wait? "Sure". It was just an awkward encounter. Anyways.... The floor was really sticky and in need of a mopping. They do have some help wanted signs on the door and inside so I am sure they are short staffed but mopping the floor by the entrance is not optional.

I've been to the Mochinut in UTC, so I was happy to see this location pop up in the neighborhood. I ordered a box of 6 which was around $18. That makes it $3/donut, so definitely not your average donut. I was excited to see they had ube flavored donuts on my visit - I was prepared to order 2 of them. Unfortunately, when I got to the register, they informed me they had all flavors except ube. What a buzzkill. This forced me to pick a flavor which I wouldn't have normally picked - mango. It turned out to be my favorite of the assortment - mango = 5/5cookies and cream = 4/5original = 4/5churro = 3/5strawberry = 5/5funnel cake = 3/5

Definitely a dessert that's on trend right now, it's great that it opened up in Chula Vista! Think donuts with the chewiness of mochi. I believe the flavors change weekly, but honestly, i dont think the each unique flavor is all the powerful.. they all taste the same to me. Lol. Anyways, you order at the counter and the wait really depends. One visit was busy and we waited about 15 mins. Our second visit was quick and our donuts were ready right away. A unique, sweet dessert worth checking out

Delicious! Every flavor we tried was great because the base mochinut is so well made, anything seems to be good on top. I will say ube was our least favorite of the three flavors. Churro may have been my favorite.I give 4 stars because of the price. At $3 a piece it's a little steep. Yes they are both delicious and a novelty but that's at least double the price of most traditional donuts. Mochinuts have a more chewy texture than the soft fluffiness of a traditional donut. I find the extra chews they require extremely satisfying! They are so tasty they are absolutely worth a try, but as for buying to eat on a consistent basis or to bring a box to a gathering they're just a touch out of my desired price range. For their price point I also wasn't very impressed with the atmosphere of their shop. It's quite plain with no decor and nothing in the store other than the ordering counter. They are extremely new so I'm hoping their storefront is simply a work in progress!

My fam is happy to have a local mochi donut establishment just down the street. And a Mochinut at that!My hubby and tween were supposed to come home with some boba smoothies, but it seems they noticed Mochinut a couple doors down so they came home with some of these babies instead. And I wasn't disappointed! I love the structure of a mochi donut, easily pulled apart. I was able to sample a little bit of each - churro, strawberry funnel, and peach. They were all good - soft and chewy with the right amount of sweetness. I especially liked the churro variety with its cinnamon, sugary goodness! If you've never tried these, stop in and give them a try. Just be sure enjoy them fresh - they're not great a day old. We'll def be back! Welcome to the neighborhood, Mochinut!

Ok first off. Let's start by the cuteness of this place! Super friendly staff, great display of their selection. Having gone to Japan and discovering these donuts while abroad I never even knew these had made their way stateside. The price is ok if you buy more, definitely pricier than regular donuts but so worth it. I will add in Japan these cost the equivalent of a dollar for a plain one, just for reference. They offer military discount which is a plus. It's not super crazy busy like some new establishments which is nice, I hit them up on national donut day since every other place was sold out and I'm glad I did! Little gem right here!
